Friend recommended Forbes and asked if they serviced western Frederick county and they did. Came for a consult and had some handy recommendations for windows and door. Cost was a little high compared to big box stores but you pay for quality. After a 90day wait order finally came and was installed in one day. That's one patio slider, one double casement window and one double casement window with set window in the center. Only glitch was a window was installed and then noticed a locking latch was broken. Was immediately ordered and installed less than 30 days later. Service was great, install was great and follow up repair was great. So far a happy camper for a $12K job. Highly recommend.

I called and the next week we had an appointment. We also used this company for another smaller job before getting the windows and were very happy. We had some issues with a leak and the guys came back out to troubleshoot multiple times to get it fixed for us. I was really impressed as I had already paid! They just didn't take my money and run. Also, both jobs were done with very little mess. You wouldn't even have known we had new windows installed! Have used another contractor for doors and they were very messy (getting caulk on the windows, porch and siding. They even scratched the hardwood floors.) We will be using K & A1 again in the future!

The delivery itself was more challenging than expected, and both 10-feet sheets of glass needed to be taken up 4 flights of stairs as opposed to the elevator. The Hodges team (Bob, Matt, and John) assessed the situation right away, figured out a plan, and was extremely careful and cautious while handling the glass through the stairwell. Once in the desired space, they cleaned up the glass and carefully put it in place. What impressed me most was their attention to detail and commitment to delivering outstanding results. They worked tirelessly to ensure the glass was delivered safely and carefully, and truly exceeded all of our expectations. I highly recommend Hodges Window & Glass to anyone in need of high-quality glass products and exceptional service. They are the best in the business!

So, I went through 7-8 contractors to ensure I got the right one. I eventually picked Rollins. I'm so happy that I chose them to do the job because the guys were precise, and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed their job. That showed up in the work. The roof looks terrific. There is no sign of shoddy workmanship. Everything is crisp and sharp. I genuinely feel like I got excellent value for the money--I rarely feel that way. Yes, replacing a roof was expensive, but it was worth it because I no longer have the stress of whether or not the old slate roof will fail. Now, I can think about more important things in life and just get on with it. That alone was worth the investment. I will work with Rollins & Associates again and recommend them to friends and family.

After listening to the owner and one of his workers loudly f-bombing each other for 10 minutes the person at the counter again took all of my information in a spiral notebook, made me shout the dimensions because the f-bombing in the background was so loud. Then she said that I'd have to leave the only template that I had just to get an estimate. Nope, nope, nope.

We had several problems working with Scott Loewenstein at Wholesale Cabinet Distributors. First, he…read moredid not want to drive to Virginia to deliver the cabinets, so we paid more to have them sent directly from the manufacturer. We live on a narrow street that is lined with public parking, and the cabinets arrived in a truck that was too large to fit down the street. I called Scott and asked him what he was going to do, and he told me he didn't know, it had never happened before. I was left to work out delivery options with the frustrated truck driver instead of with my salesperson, and delivery was delayed, thus delaying installation. Second, there were issues with the measurements. Scott's design included a corner cabinet that didn't fit through the kitchen door, even though he had the measurement of that opening. The contractor had to cut the cabinet to get it into the room, thus invalidating our warranty. The cabinet over the refrigerator also did not fit, it was too large for the space. When Scott was told, instead of offering to get us a smaller unit, he blamed our contractor, insisting that if we had hired competent workers, they would be able to cut a cabinet with full-overlay doors to fit a smaller space. The contractor had to cut the refrigerator panel, and the cabinet looks misaligned. Third, when the dust settled and we looked at the itemized list on our invoice, we realized that this Maryland business charged us Maryland State retail sales tax despite delivery and installation of the product in the Commonwealth of Virginia. When we called the Maryland Department of Taxation, we received confirmation that the charge was illegally made. Complaints via email, phone, certified mail, and via the Better Business Bureau were met with excuses, denials, and refusal to refund our money. Wholesale Cabinet Distributors changed their story several times telling us this charge was 1. a legitimate Maryland retail tax charge, 2. a handling charge, 3. a keying error, and finally 4. a legitimate Virginia retail tax charge. They then told told the BBB in writing that our complaint was a "non-issue" that had been resolved (Case# 36144762.) We are now having to pursue our refund via legal channels. You may have an excellent experience with this company. If you have a problem with Wholesale Cabinet Distributors, however, you can learn from our experience how it will be handled.
