We booked GlamSquad for my little sister-in-law's bachelorette celebration in Newport Beach, and I am so glad we did--it was truly one of the highlights of the trip! Each of us got a blowout and full makeup, and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. Our artists--Sara M., Jennifer G., D. Bruna N., Jacquelyn V., Nikki O., and Jasmine D.--were phenomenal. Not only were they incredibly talented, but they brought such fun energy that it felt like they were part of the party. I wish they showed you photos of clients they have worked on before you book and it would be nice to chose your stylist but then actually get them. Because you never know who is gonna show up and if they don't do a good job, you're stuck leaving to whatever event or place you're going to looking awful if you don't have time to fix it. So if they showed some sample photos of the stylist work and you can make an option to book that person or somebody else that would be so much better. read more

Good lord. Makeup "artist" did not understand skin. I moisturized before my appointment only for the dude to remove moisture from my skin with alcohol. And then because I had no moisture on my skin, the makeup caked. It was disgusting. I looked like Donald Trump. I want my money back. This company is dysfunctional. Between the person dressing my face in frosting and the person giving me a Barbie hair style, I had to hear all too many stories about how much they hate the next level dysfunction of Glam Squad. i had a group experience with glam squad and it was such a fun girls day activity. we did makeup, silk press, blowout, and pedicure services. the pros who did my makeup and pedicure were my favorite and helped make the day smoother overall. to improve my experience next time, i would stagger the services more so that less pros were in my space at the same time. would deff recommend as a group experience or if you just don't feel like doing your own makeup. read more

Did they not read the fact that they completely ruined my sister's wedding for mother and I? Shame on you. Saw a special for a blowout and makeup for $115, so bought it. BUT at checkout they added tax and gratuity (what if the service sucks!) so it came to $165! When i tried to use it, it didn't show as a credit and had no code as they said. I emailed and they said it expired!! But you didn't say that anywhere on my receipt! You have to tell me if something I buy expires!! They gave me $150 credit (but I paid you $165) and when I booked a blowout/makeup wanted another $75 for gratuity and tax! (but I already paid this!). I emailed again and they made the appointment for me as a "one time courtesy!" Nope, I paid for it and you owe me it. Now they charged me another $82 for no reason. On top of the $165. The added another gratuity! Do NOT sign up! It's a scam. So after I wrote this, emailed a third time, and said I'd put in a dispute with my credit card, they refunded me the $82. Doesn't make up for all their scams though. Still 1 star. Watch out. If it's not your "intent to mislead" then put an expiration date and don't charge us gratuity and tax and not refund it- that's all illegal. read more

I don't normally take time to write negative reviews, but if i can save even one mom from my experience yesterday, it's worth it. I booked makeup at 12:00 and hair at 1:00 for my daughter's PROM, a very big, important day. Makeup arrived 20 min late and hair arrived 40 min late! I had to blow my daughter's hair out myself and then when she finally did arrive she used a flat iron instead of the 'blow out' we had ordered and paid for (because that's faster) so not only were we WAY behind schedule... but the curls she put in came out in two seconds because it had been flat ironed. The much bigger issue was... the fun, relaxing special, memorable day of glam with my daughter turned into a nightmare with stress, arguing and tears because we missed her prom pre party with all her friends since we were 40 min behind schedule with her glam. I had to pay full price for the makeup... I was fully refunded for the hair (after calling and getting VERY angry) but the stress and disappointment on her prom day is a much bigger deal than the money itself. I would NEVER dream of using glam squad again for any occasion big or small. When you are paying for a professional service... being ON TIME is the very first order of business. So annoyed right now. On Sunday I was trying to book make up and hair but only makeup was available so on their website it says you can contact a representative to help book other services. So when I spoke to them on Sunday, they said that they would help me book a stylist for both services. Over the last two days I've been waiting cause the rep said they would book it for me but I received no email confirmation, once I followed up again, now they're telling me that there are no stylists for hair. Getting impatient, I went back on the app to book the make up and now all make up artists are booked for my date. So now I'm pissed because I could've booked a make up artist two days ago when there was availability but they said that they would help me. So they basically just screwed me over and wasted the last two days and now I can't get anyone for the Grammys. I'm sooo mad, there's no way I can anyone else this last minute. read more

I booked a 1 hour session with Meggin and Jasmine for makeup plus lashes, and a blowout. I could not be happier with my results. I have very long and unruly blonde hair and Meggin was able to make it look like a 50s glamor model. Jasmine is a wizard with makeup she covered a scar that I have on my nose, and did my lashes perfectly. I'm usually very sensitive around my eyes, so I was pleasantly surprised at how gentle she was. The colors were amazing, the chat was great, they were on time and below budget. I will definitely use the service again. Keep up the Great work! read more

I have used them about 6 times, each time for hair and makeup. Each time every single stylist was at least 15 minutes late. This time (the last time ever) they called at 10.57 to say that my 11 am appointment was canceled because both the hair stylist and the makeup artist had an emergency. 3 minutes before the appointment? This company is a joke. Customer service is terrible, the service is unreliable, and the quality (when they do show up) is mediocre. Stay away! read more

Really disappointing customer service. Was hoping to use their team for my wedding, but it's hard to trust someone to show up for the big day if they can't even attend the prep call or respond to e-mail inquiries. I filled out the required intake form and booked a prep call using the calendly link. They then sent a bunch of duplicate information asking if I'd like to discuss, and when I tried to clarify that I had already booked a call they re-sent me the calendly link telling me it was the only way to book a call. Despite getting an automated confirmation for the call time (and writing to confirm) the person never called at the scheduled time or wrote back via e-mail. Glad to know ahead of time that this wouldn't be a reliable option! read more

The stylists have always been awesome. However, the company has some serious problems and their customer service is absolutely terrible. Based on this, I can't see them staying in business for much longer. They were much better prior to COVID - it seems the company is very desperate for money now, which is never a good sign. Their "membership" is a complete rip-off. You pre-pay for two blowouts a month at a very small discount, maybe 5-10% off, and if you don't use them, they expire. I have paid them so much money for blowouts I never got. I've talked to customer service to see if they could roll over the blowouts because I travel quite a lot (to markets without GLAMSQUAD) and they've been nothing but rude and dismissive of my requests. Needless to say, they've kept my money and refuse to provide the paid-for services. In addition to their prices increasing, I noticed they also started charging an additional fee of $15 if you'd like to select your own stylist. This fee does not go to the stylist. The stylists have not been getting paid more after their prices increased. Go somewhere else or book directly with a stylist - in addition to screwing over their customers, they're also treating their stylists terribly. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. My blowout appointment was canceled 30 mins before the scheduled start time due to "a high demand of pros right now." Why was I able to book the time I wanted if the company knew there were multiple other appointments? Again, with 30 mins notice, I had no one to do my hair the day of an AWARDS SHOW. They offered my $60 in credit which doesn't even cover a full blowout. I was planning to use them for my bridesmaids but that will never happen now. read more

Booked a stylist to come to Costa Mesa for a wedding I was attending. I flew into the OC with no styling tools because I had booked the appt for my hair. Stylist "Obie" never showed up and pretended not to know who I was or who she was when I called the number provided by Glamsquad to contact the stylist. Glamsquad responded promptly through email when I reached out- I was refunded and given a $50 credit to my account. I appreciate that, however this will never make up for the fact that I didn't have hair styling for the wedding I was attending- and had packed no styling tools to do it myself. I learned my lesson. I enjoyed Glamsquad in the seven years I used it. The last time, however, a fully qualified make-up artist came to my house with such an overpowering fragrance of hair-spray that it knocked me for a loop when I met her outside at my gate. I hoped I'd be okay and invited her in. I realized I couldn't stand in the same room, let alone within a foot of her, and apologized but told her her hairspray made it impossible for me to get my makeup applied. I immediately called the office and told them the predicament and I had to go out and drive to get my makeup done in time for a scheduled photo-shoot. After seven years, management claimed I was a late cancellation and took no responsibility for how inappropriately the makeup artist showed up. If she'd smelled like cigarettes they'd surely understand, but hairspray is as unpleasant and inconsiderate to a client paying for the luxury of in-home service, and especially during a pandemic when airborne particles are something to avoid. I found it appalling that they treated a long term client who's never once complained as being at fault for not being able to breathe. I'm done with Glamsquad, not for the understandable mistake of the make-up artist, but for their terrible handling of it after the fact. read more

My sister booked this service for her PROM, and not only were they "running late" (appointment was at 3) but at 3:35pm they told her they had an "emergency" and couldn't make it anymore. Since I have a team for hair and makeup in New York, I was concerned about getting everything right for the cameras in a completely different place. I had read about Glamsquad but had not had the opportunity to use them until now. This is BETTER than my NYC team. Here is why. First, they came to my hotel. Second, they were completely 100% focused on me. You know that whenever you go to someone's place of business, they invariably have other clients and distractions meaning that you end of waiting and sometimes behind schedule. In addition because they are location based whenever you would like them to come onsite with you the charge is rather exorbitant. Glamsquad is completely location independent. This means that you compensate based on the service and nothing additional for them being at your location rather than there. One artist cancelled close in and Glamsquad arranged a different person. Think if this would have been your 1 artist. You can get screwed depending on what person because life happens. There are things that come up that we cannot control but a mess up in someone else's life should not mess up an important day or time in your life or career. So Glamsquad is the way to go and I hope they expand across the US and world similar to Home sharing and Ride sharing. My hair artist Matthew (@Wigtime) was amazing. He has a pleasant and patient demeanor in addition to being an very accomplished stylist. He is also a perfectionist. I changed my mind a bit in the middle of the styling as to what I wanted and he rolled right with it. He kept working as the make up artist arrived and begun her part. My make artist, Laura (@Laura_Bueno) was on point. I desired an enhanced natural look with more dramatic eyes. Laura did make me look lit and also built my lashes with individual clusters. After this experience, back in NYC, I am going to use them too. I'm not sure what the experience with be here because NY folks have different ways-you know what I mean? LA Glamquad got it going right in my hotel room with plenty of time to spare. I was comfortable and cool and happy getting 100% of the attention from accomplished and pleasant artists. read more

I received inaccurate information over the phone multiple times by two separate individual staff members from Glam Squad. It was really frustrating because the staff was aware of the address that I was requesting service each time I spoke to someone. The first individual was really nice, patient and helpful, so I thought, but he misinformed me of the availability in Palm Springs when he called me. He stated he could send 4 beauty professionals for my party of three. I was requesting three blowouts and 3 make ups. I was unable to book over the phone because I had to add my payment information to my profile. I add my payment information, gave them a call and waited for a call back. Within 30 minutes I receive a call from another individual stating they are all booked up for that day and will call me back if they find someone. Finally, they email me that actually they do not service Palm Springs for those dates. Really confusing and disappointing service.  I will not be using Glam Squad nor recommending it in the future. read more
