They were both so professional - arrived on time, did what I needed and were fast and friendly. The best part was the payment with tip was already taken care of. Makeup artist was very nice and friendly but terrible. She literally had to start over multiple times, redoing my eyes twice and my lips twice. She had me blot my lips on a Neutrogena makeup wipe which tasted toxic and made me gag. The appointment went 30 minutes overtime and then I didn't even have time to wipe it all off and redo it myself for my photoshoot. Tired and overwhelmed moms rejoice! I recently celebrated my 40th birthday and wanted to get my hair blown out for my celebratory dinner. The thought of either bringing my four kids with me to a salon or hiring a sitter seemed both exhausting and expensive so instead I made an appointment with Glamsquads at home beauty service and they did not disappoint! I made my appointment on their app which is super user friendly. My stylist arrived 5 minutes early and I put my daughter down for a nap while she set up. With my kids occupied in my own home I was able to enjoy my service. The stylist was both friendly and professional and while she styled my hair I answered emails. The best part I LOVE the way my blowout turned out. She asked me multiple times if I wanted anything adjusted or changed but I was so happy with the way it looked we didn't need to make any adjustments. read more

Is there a way to give a negative number? Jordan, who was the events person I was "working with," was completely unresponsive to the point where she actually never booked me. She said she would, and I sent email after email trying to confirm, and she just didn't respond or book me for any service, after saying she would. I couldn't get anyone to respond on the day of my daughters party because there is no number to call. The party was pretty much ruined. They have offered me a partial refund. Quite possibly the worst experience of any service ever. They charged me multiple times for a service by accident and then charged me months later for a service I canceled that was for my wedding day. It was $600 for my bridal party makeup which we did not have through glam squad but they charged me months later and said I did not cancel which is a lie. They emailed me a receipt that wasn't even for what they charged me. This company is obviously run very poorly and trying their best to take their customer's money by all means necessary. I messaged the girl that was supposed to come to my hotel to share details on where to go when she arrives. Ruined a little girl's prom. Had set up hair and makeup for a very special young lady (not my daughter but as close to a daughter as I will have). She has been through a lot throughout her childhood but managed to get a full ride scholarship and excel in school. My gift to her was to make her feel like a princess for prom. I set up a glam make and hair with Glamsquad and got confirmation that the artists would be there. I even received an email on "how to prep". Lest than 15 minutes before the lynwere to show I received a very cold email noting the hair person would it be there...no call...no finding someone else...just an email without a number saying "ooops oh well". The makeup artist came and was nice and makeup was pretty good...but I couldn't shake how careless and soulless the email was. With no time to find someone else it just ruined what should have been a very special day for a very special girl. I will never use this service again and would advise everyone not to as well. Oh goodness, where to begin. Less than a year ago, I was scheduled for an appearance on a television show and hired Glamsquad for hair and make up. The Makeup person was lovely and did a great job; however, the hair person never showed up. She did not call, she was not reachable at the number given by Glamsquad, and I had to rush to do my own hair. I swore I would never use Glamsquad again, but thought perhaps it was a one-off. I decided to give them another chance and hire them for makeup, as I was returning to television. Less than 24 hours in advance, I decided (against my better judgement) to add hair and somehow was booked for a hair make up combo IN ADDITION to the make up person I already had scheduled. Obviously, I did not book hair and make up together, so this was a glitch on the part of the Glamsquad app. I did not see this snafu until an hour before the appointment this morning, so I canceled the extra Makeup booking was forced to pay the fee of $l07 for late cancellation. Fine. The person who showed up to do my makeup today did such an awful job that I needed to redo it after she left. It was clear to me that this person did not have any experience in how to do make up for television. Once she left, I was forced to redo my make up myself so that I looked presentable on camera. So now, I have paid a late cancellation fee, plus the fee and mandatory tip for makeup that I needed to redo after. When I spoke with management (via text, as nobody even bothered to call me) I was offered a $45 refund and $20 credit for next time. Needless to say, I will never use this company again, and you should think twice if you are using them. They are completely unreliable, not selective in whom they hire, and do not care about customer satisfaction. I booked GlamSquad for the first time this week to prep my hair and makeup for a big gala in NYC. Cendy did my makeup and (individual) lashes and Passion did my hair. We chatted for a few minutes about what I was looking for (Makeup: no lipstick! And like... beige?) (Hair: Blake Lively without all the fake hair!), I showed them my dress, and then they set to work. Now, I know my direction was incredible - but they ran with it and an hour later I had exactly what I wanted, but even better than I imagined. I also told them that it would need to stay put for 6 hours+ and I was STILL getting compliments at the end of the night - it looked as fresh as when I arrived! (And yet, not in any way shellacked.) My last experience with GlamSquad was lousy. I had a huge event and booked a makeup artist and hair stylist. First, let me say the makeup artist, who I'd used before, was excellent. His name is Eduardo M. and I highly recommend him. The hairstylist they sent, Sarah E., is no hairstylist. When I first set eyes on my blowout, I was speechless. My hair was flat and unstyled. I never thought I'd be giving Glam Squad a good rating. Let me explain. Last summer (June of 2016), a friend and I decided to book blowouts together for another friend's wedding. That morning we washed our hair and we're eagerly anticipating having our hair done at my apartment. The stylist, however, never showed and it was a complete debacle (numerous phone calls to Glam Squad, shady excuses like the stylist had come but couldn't find parking and left....etc). The whole thing sucked and I was pissed off and vowed never to use them again even though they gave me a full credit to use. Fast forward to last week when I remembered I had this credit and decided to give them a try again. First I booked a manicure. Clara was so sweet and lovely and did a fantastic job on my nails. She had about 10 colors to choose from. Only strange part is that the nails dry naturally (no fans) so make sure you have time after the appointment to sit and let them dry! After this test run, I decided to trust them fully and booked a makeup appointment before my engagement photo shoot. Tiffany arrived and was BEYOND incredible. I loved hanging out with her in general because she was so hilarious and easy to talk to but on top of that she is a phenomenal makeup artist. I showed her one picture and she immediately understood my style and look and executed it flawlessly. I've never felt so pretty. So, yes occasionally there are mishaps with this company, but overall I think the services are really wonderful. And both of the stylists I worked with were just amazing. They couldn't have been kinder or more efficient, both professionals and very good at what they do. Highly recommended. Only dinging a star as I couldn't find info on the website or in any of Glamsquad's communication re: what state the stylist would want my hair in when they arrived....dry? damp? wet? So some basic "prep" instructions would be super helpful. On the plus side, it was easy enough to contact them on the phone to ask. Was looking forward to it and wanted to love and support a business founded by women, but turned out to be a nightmare. Hair and makeup both rushed and unprofessional. One of the stylists had an aggressive attitude that made us feel very uncomfortable. Make up and tools looked poorly sanitized. Ended up completely washing our face and redoing our own make up. Hair had to be also corrected to look less matronly and dated. When my friend asked if certain detail about her make up can be changed slightly, the stylist completely ignored it. I used Glam Squad for my wedding in November - updo and makeup for two people early in the morning at a hotel in Manhattan. The on-demand/all electronic payment and tipping model is great, a much more convenient option than other salon or house visit services. We were very happy with the quality, the stylists were talented (four total), and the price is certainly right. Glam Squad has a specific wedding section on their site and since they have that team (who we worked through), I expected a slightly more orchestrated experience than a typical booking. However, it did not feel pre-planned or cohesive. A touch of extra project management would have been helpful given we were conscious about time. Understandably, Glam Squad could not provide specifics on the stylists, but offered to pass along any notes or requests which we did in order to make the wedding day smoother. The morning of, one of the stylists was 30 minutes late and there was confusion around who was working with who. Additionally, no one seemed to have background on the hair and makeup we requested. My roommate and I booked 2 back to back makeup appointments for a wedding - booked months in advance. Got a call the day before our scheduled appointment saying that our makeup artist was in contact with Covid and that they were cancelling our appointment and had no alternatives, no other appointments available, couldn't do anything to help us. We're told the best they could do for us was give us complimentary services in the future! I have no events in the future, I needed makeup done for this one event and this one event only - so now we're just screwed and have hardly any time to find an alternative. I understand that these things happen with Covid and there are unexpected obstacles but this is a horrible way to conduct business. They need to have alternatives available or professionals that can cover in the event that this happens. It's a horrible feeling to get a call saying that the service you've been depending on is cancelled and they can't do shit to help you. Will never use again, really disappointed and distraught. This is the message I wrote this morning to the company. Management and Service Team, I HAD THE WORSE EXPERIENCE THIS MORNING. I booked an appointment with you for this morning way in advance. My appointment was at 10am. My appointment is for an important job interview. I received a voice message at 9:15am to say the stylist would only be 15 minutes late and would arrive at 10:15am. Then, at 10:07am, I received another call, that the stylist would be another 15 minutes late. I missed this call because I was in the bathroom making my hair wet per instructions from glamsquad. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO CALL SO LATE WITH ANOTHER PUSH BACK. The rep who called never apologized any of the times. She kept saying "I UNDERSTAND". Clearly she doesn't! Also, I want an apology not that you understand English. I have an appointment and you are LATE again and AGAIN. Then I ask her where the hair stylist was and she said LES which is 30 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE. I was talking to this lady at 10:22am, which means the stylist will not be at my house till 10:52 at the earliest. THIS IS SO UNACCEPTABLE. Then, here is the kicker! The rep on the phone said that this doesn't include parking which may just take 2-3 minutes. IS SHE CRAZY? This is NYC. No one finds parking in 2-3 minutes. I had to run hair wet outside to find another salon. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN YOUR SEVICE. ALSO, your customer service people need A LOT OF TRAINING on how to deal with customers. Kept lying and did not try to solve my quandary. I also recommend firing the stylist Denae, who did not show up again and again and had an ultimate ETA of about 1 hour late.
