This time however, my nails were not done properly and began chipping after 3 days. Not wanting to offend the trainee that did my nails I decided to leave it. This was until 2 more nails severely chipped within the following 4 days. I called the owner to explain what had happened. As a long standing customer -who has introduced other long standing customers, even recommending another potential long standing client as recently as last week - I was told that she would repair the 3 nails; for a customer such as myself who has spent hundreds of pounds on countless treatments across maybe 5 years, I would rather expect a complimentary shellac but alas this was not to be. In fact I would have to PAY for the repair of the 3 nails as the "policy" stipulates that beyond 2-3 days, the customer must pay. Absurd! Shellac is supposed to last for 2 weeks. It was my consideration of the trainee that had me miss this window in the first place! That aside, the "policy" being referred to is yours Manager. The inconvenience of having to go back sooner than intended could have been easily pacified with some great customer service. For me this complaint is less about what you did do (deliver a poor treatment on this occasion) and more about what you didn't care enough to do! You completely abandoned any basic principles of customer care and I am more than disappointed in the Wellness Lounge. You have needlessly lost a good customer here.

Nail techs are all friendly…read more CONS - As much of a friendly bunch they are, the guy I had did not do a very good job on my french tipped shellac nails. I normally let nail techs do whatever but this guy was clearly in a hurry (a lot of customers were coming in during the lunch hour) so I found myself gently correcting him a few times. The hand "massage" (if you could even call it that) consisted of him putting lotion on my hands for 15 seconds and concluding the manicure session. My shellac nails chipped the next day. It was definitely a red flag when they were removing my old shellac and told me how hard it was to get off (it's quality shellac, what did they expect?) -- I should have known that their surprise was foreshadowing their products were easy to remove/chip off (therefore lesser quality than other salons offering shellac). They stopped talking in their native language when they found out I understood their language -- interesting. CONCLUSION - I had old shellac on a few nails and the lady said she would take it off for free but when the manicure session ended (the lady nail tech went to lunch and the guy nail tech took over), I was charged £3 for shellac removal - I mentioned it to him but he insisted they always charge for shellac removal. Definitely not going back!

Another thing lateness or earliness can avoid the nasty smells that accumulate in the day from the chemicals acrylic nails need. In addition, I can tell you that it is an Afro hairdresser that specializes in bonding, bleaching, perming and the relaxing of hair. And from my continuos visits I know it is always busy.

I felt like a blonde Beyonce strutting down the street after I left. Staff are very inviting, offering drinks and cupcakes upon arrival. Yes cupcakes. They were very thorough when going over what I wanted. I am not very picky, so it was great to listen to their suggestions on what they thought would suit me. As far as my hair, they said they were going to take off an inch, and they only took an inch. Which is almost unheard of when I have gotten my hair cut at other salons. The décor is modern and bright with music playing and a personal tablet at each station. Drinks were also served in mason jars which was a cute addition. I dont have children but there is a childrens play area down stairs which as a mom I'm sure would be great. They have a range of spa treatments too, waxing, mani/pedi, eyebrow threading and eyelash treatments which I plan to take advantage of in the future. I walked out with shellac removed, nails trimmed and filed, nail hardener treatment and cuticle oil applied. If I were a local I would absolutely return for a full manicure here, knowing they take the time to do each part of the process correctly.
