The technician removed the product from my entire first hand before telling me it was apparently hard gel rather than regular gel and that she wasn't qualified/authorised to remove it. I'm not a nail technician, so I'm not sure how a customer is expected to know the technical difference when their own trained technician couldn't identify it before starting the removal. I even offered to skip the manicure completely and just have the product removed, but they couldn't do that either because the technicians available weren't qualified to perform hard-gel removal. I left with no manicure, one hand partially removed and the other untouched. Townhouse then refused to refund me for the incomplete service and instead gave me account points, despite me clearly saying I don't want credit or another appointment. Very poor handling of the appointment and subsequent complaint. I definitely won't be returning.

But Balo had this incredible way of making me think about everything else but that hot way on my skin. During the session we talked about Camden Market, the history of Afghanistan and the different dialect of Nigeria (thank you Wikipedia for making me sound like an intellectual!) and before I knew it, it was over! Balo was so thorough; not a single hair to be found. I would be lying if I said that my dislike for waxing is now gone; but at Phoenix Beauty Point it feels like a beauty treatment and not torture.
