So the wife and I made appointment for 2 pedicures a week ahead for today ( Sunday) they open at 11am. Our appointment confirmed. Upon arrival there were 3 attendants,one was lady in charge we signed in and observed 3 nail/ pedis already in the chairs.. and a man that is very good natured arrived and they called the lady sitting next to us as she has 11am reservation as well.. the guy was filling her foot basin up. At a few minutes before 11 A lady came in and the lady- boss asked her ? And she replied yes I have an 11am appointment ... My goodness.. what the heck??... We live a few blocks away and have had great service here many times.. My reason behind posting this is simple... Good, better, best..never let it rest.. until your good is gooder and your gooder is best. Resting on Laurels is a risky And slippery path to go down. Being from out of town, I asked someone where she has her beautiful nails done. She recommended Mindy at Glamour Nails. I called and got an appointment at 11:00, Sunday. They opened promptly and had 6-8 customers right away. My pedicure was lovely, as was my gel powder fill. Even though I won't be a repeat customer, she gave me a small Valentine's Day gift. Note: this review is for the Nail Spa/Manager/Owner and my for my experience there for my first time. This review is not for the tech Kristy she was wonderful and I wished she would move to a new place. She was perfect. I do not want her to be associated with the horrible Management. She was gracious, kind and great at her job. I went in Glamours Nails - on Saturday 5/15/21 by appointment for a late Mother's Day and graduation from higher level schooling as a pampering gift from my daughter. When I called in I asked about mask guidelines as people down here in NW FL (lower AL) aren't getting vaccinations; I was told masks required. Once there signs were posted all over about masks being required and they would provide one to patrons if you didn't have one on. No one spoke to me when I arrived, just "pick your color". This mentioned because everyone else was spoken to once they entered. I noted no one wearing masks besides myself and endured this while getting my pedi as spa chairs spaced further apart than nail tech sitting area. While getting my nails done I inquired of Kristy nice, chatty, sweet funny nail tech about the mask policy. She in turn spoke to the Manager/Owner KYM who got up and handed masks to the 4 women (all knew each other but came in 2 at a time met up accidentally) Kym obviously mentioned that I (a customer of her establishment) asked about the mask policy because I heard, "who"? I looked around then to see the Manager/Owner KYM pointing at me. Just speculation but she must have said - that customer is complaining you all don't have masks on. Because then this brazen, ignorant, Trump supporting "Karen" said, "she is not going to tell me what to do", in a loud voice while looking at me. I in kind told her I was not telling her what to do, I'd simply asked about the policy of the establishment as it was posted everywhere. She said she wasn't talking to me - I told her when she said "she" while getting loud and looking at me - she invited me into the conversation. This Karen then proceeded to SUSH 50 y/o me. She put her hand up as if to tell me to "talk to the hand." I asked her if I in anyway looked like her child.... we had a back and forth until she finally STFU! Yet, meanwhile the Manager/Owner is saying nothing! Kristy is agreeing with me, how they as employees have to wear masks all day but the rule isn't being enforced for customers. Why did I speak up? I'm tired of being Black in these United States and always letting things go. Why did I engage with the Karen? Because she was not going to intimidate me. I was the only Black person in there and besides the employees the only one wearing a mask. I don't know if they were vaccinated (she never said she was during the exchange between us)... I'm a veteran of the Military and I fought for her right to be ignorant- but she caught the right Black woman on the right day (I told her that as well). I told Kristy her manager owed me an apology - IT never happened! I also told her to be prepared for an awful Yelp review. Next, when I made my choices known I was told the cost as if I hand not read the prices schedule online and posted in the shop. Smh! I told the woman who informed me of costs without being asked - that I had money or I wouldn't have chosen to come out for services. Finally, Michelle did my toes, she did a good job but she had low pressure on the massage portion, you could tell she did not want to take care of me after she had to switch out with the male (no way dude sorry/not sorry). I asked her for more pressure (she barely improved), to do things such as ombré nails - which she replied she didn't know how to do it. That's how thankfully I got Kristy. But get this! Michelle asked my name for the ticket and when I spelled it as she didn't understand Cela- she said, "wow! so short". I asked if expected a long, 4 syllable name which would be difficult to spell. She replied "yes "- SMDH!!! I told her although names like that are beautiful it's just not my name smh ‍ Just as Michelle isn't hers- too bad she's not more confident in herself and not catering to folks I paid my very expensive bill to Glamour Nails which was supposed to be one of the top 10 nail spa's in the area, tipped both Kristy and Michelle (very well) and left. I WILL NEVER return there again. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. They don't want us there. If you can endure racism, no mask not knowing who is vaccinated or not, terrible management, the mostly unfriendly staff, pay exorbitant prices and want to be treated poorly due to your ethnicity. Please go on in... OTHERWISE MY sisters and brothers do not waste your money. Please don't do it to yourself. I will never go back although Kristy is the best nail technician I've come across - to date! If your White and an ally you also will not want to go. Just being honest! The place is nice that doesn't make for the awful people and service. read more

It was my first visit to Glamour Nails and I was very pleased. There was no waiting for my 2 pm appt and the salon was clean and airy. I came for a pedicure and was offered 3 varieties. I chose the Basic which was $27 and very fair considering the thorough work, leg massage and politeness of the technician. I went in kind of in a rush since I broke my toe nail right before coming. I asked the lady at the first table how long the wait was and she said a few minutes. We waited 25 minutes and everyone was dismissive when we asked. Well... almost all of the customers were getting 2 services each which meant we would have probably been there another 25 minutes at least. The salon and the employee uniforms were also a mess and dirty. Previously had several good experiences here, but had a very disappointing encounter today. My mom and I made appointments together. We arrived on time and they took me back a few minutes later, but my mom waited nearly an HOUR past our appointment time during which two people were taken ahead of her (including a woman who came in 30 minutes after us). I was just about finished with my nails as they were getting ready to start hers. No one acknowledged her wait or apologized. We understand being a few minutes behind but this was beyond excuse. If I could put 0 stars I would. Vacationers DO NOT come here, spend your money elsewhere. I came in on vacation hoping to get my nails done for when I get back home. I had came in and it was pretty warm in the salon but I tried to brush it off. Finally got sat in my seat where the nail lady kept stopping her work to answer the phone and then tried to yell at me about how much I would be paying (no signs in the store). I tell her I am getting really hot in the store and she gets up and storms away and talks about me with two other employees. One employee then comes up to me and says she will be working with me now. The other two ladies then proceed to stand at my new table and talk back and forth in front of me. After they went away my nails were finally finished but it is the worst job I've ever had! I pay $80 back home for amazing nails and I paid $80 for crooked nails, a bumpy paint job and awful shape. Overall worst experience I've ever had. Stay far far away from this place. read more

I made an appointment two days ago for Tuesday at 11am. Came in at 10:55 and was not helped until 11:55. I booked for an acrylic fill and wanted them a tad shorter. He proceeds to take off all my fake nails and use my real nails that were long underneath but not the length I wanted cus they weren't as long. All the shapes and lengths came out uneven and too short for what I asked for. Overall worst nails I've ever gotten. read more
