She was understanding when I told her that I did not want gelX as I don't have a routine of getting my nails done. I got a deluxe pedicure by Tony. He was really great at the massage and callus treatment. However, I ended up with a small cut around the cuticle area and a few days after my pedicure, my toe is swollen and in pain. Embarrassed to post a photo, but it is what it is! There was some water that didn't get cleaned in between foot soak and rinsing, that could have contributed. I was really trying to save this place from the horrible reviews but please try a different spot if it's your first time. I got a regular pedi and asked for callus removal but it was so light that I still have callus left. The tech scrubbed very lightly. They also didn't have a lot of colors in stock. The ones in stock looked very old and dry. Also, before I arrived, they said I'd be attended to right away since it was slow; however when I got there, they sat me quickly in a chair but wasn't attended until 30min after. I saw about 3 techs just on their phones or lounging around while I was waiting. Please do yourself a favor and try a different spot. read more

I'm not a very picky person when it comes to nails, given that I came in for a basic gel manicure, I didn't think someone could really fuck that up. Howeverrr, the coat was uneven, one was bubbly, two are chipping after only 4 days (normally last me 1 1/2 weeks without chipping) and last I have a lot of pain on one due to the tech cutting way too much of my side nail/cuticle off. I mentioned it hurt during the appointment and she said it was normal but fast forward 4 days and I have a minor infection that I have been curing with alcohol. I kept hearing Kim (owner)say.. few minutes, as she was with another client. Few minutes ended up being 40 so I left. Update: nails started breaking off after a week of having them First time going here. Absolutely loved the pedicure no complaints there. The lady who did my nails felt like she was rushing and was upset she had to go in a few minutes earlier than she was supposed to. when asking about my nails length I asked for medium and before I could ask her not to cut them where she had the tool positioned she had already started to cut the nails. I asked for French tips and from afar they looked good but as she finished up she goes to tell me she's not good at doing French tips and then noticed the lines were sloppy. I'm not one to complain and that's my fault for not speaking up but they had already made my friend and I feel uncomfortable so we paid and left (she was unhappy with her shaping as well). I do not recommend this place at all. My cousin went recently and they did a horrible job for acrylics. The cuticles looks damaged and they left something black along the side of her cuticle. Extremely careless service, but I'm not surprised based on the other reviews. If you're in the North Indio area, go to A&J Nail Salon. I question the price on my nails... I paid $95 for mani and pedi.... I was there for 3 hours. Was playing more of the waiting game then anything. They took me in right away but I guess the lady working on me had a scheduled appointment so she stopped our session and put me in the pedicure section... I was sitting there for 45 min with my feet in cold water. Finally someone got to me to do a pedicure. I hated it!! Non of my nails are even. She didn't check what color I wanted just put a clear coat until I told her something but still did a bad job. Finally got back to doing the manicure. She did it so fast she didn't correct any of her mistakes even tho she saw them and I told her about it. Through out this whole treatment she gave me prices.
