I had requested gel tips & a pedicure as a walk in client. The manicurist told me I was getting acrylic nails. The girl who did my pedicure put some odd liquid base coat on my toe nails and stained my natural nail bed pink and also a new fungus appeared after she took the polish off. After I was told I was getting acrylics he put the powder on super thick. It just wasn't what I asked for. This is the second time I got nail fungus from their polish. The first time was with gel polish on the toes and now it was regular polish. I'm a pretty good tipper but I don't think this place is at all cleanly. I'm not going back. They need to replace and buy new polish frequently and I know they don't. read more

Came here sporadically because we were in town and wanted to get pedicures. Place is clean however weren't greeted at the door. I had Tracy and she was very good. I HIGHLY recommend going with her if you want someone to pay attention to detail. She gave a phenomenal foot massage as well. The issue was that even after 1-2 hours after the pedicure my child stepped on my foot and it completely printed on my nail. Also my friend had a different person doing her nails (someone with glasses) and she did a terrible job and I would have been throughly disappointed if I had her - she completely skipped the base coat and was rushing through the whole process and when she brought it up the person was arguing with her. Love this spot! I was on my way home from a meeting in the desert and needed a quick pedicure. The place was going to close in 45 minutes but they did decide to accommodate me. I told them no at first because I wanted the full treatment but they assured me that wouldn't be a problem and they did give me the full treatment and stayed open 30 minutes past closing to accommodate me. The experience I received today from one of the male technicians at El Paseo Nail Bar was UNPRECEDENTEDLY RUDE. In 35 years of pedicures , I have never had a nail technician be as impolite to me as this man was. His first mistake was that he failed to give me the shop's service menu from which to choose a service. What's the point of having a menu of services if they don't give it to you at the beginning to decide what you want? At the onset, he mumbled something unintelligible to me, so I handed him the polish that I chose, thinking he was asking for that. During this service, he never handed me a menu or asked me specifically which service I wanted. He just started clipping nails and cleaning my cuticles. After cutting my toenails and cleaning up my cuticles he started to massage my feet and at that point, I asked him: "Wait, which pedicure am I getting???! He quickly responded "Next time, next time!...." as if it was too late to select a pedicure. This really frustrated me. Why was it too late? My husband got the best leg massage of his life, and I ended up with a lackluster foot rub which felt lazy and ineffective. Unbeknownst to me, I was receiving the "basic option" which I do NOT recommend as it is very minimal and not worth the money. After painting my toes, I notice that one of my toes had been messed up in the process of him putting the disposable thongs on so I pointed it out to him. Instead of doing that toe over, the technician just glopped more polish over the error and left the toe with a too thick layer of polish that would never dry. I tried to explain that this was too thick and would not work but he cut me off rudely and admonished me to be "more patient" like I was a 5-year-old. In other words, STFU lady! I found this to be incredibly offensive and could not believe it was even happening. In which world is it okay to speak to paying customers this way? This was a really upsetting experience and I would recommend being wary of this particular guy. I didn't get his name unfortunately but he knows who he is. And I am sure El Paseo Nail Bar knows who he is too! That being said, there was another very nice technician, also male, who came over and tried to right things. He was very kind and apologetic, he fixed my toe and was everything a good nail technician is supposed to be. I am sharing this experience to highlight that rude people have no place in the spa service industry and the owners of this nail salon would do well to insist that their employees have good customer service skills and no anger issues. Worst pedicure I've ever gotten. I regularly get my calluses repaired and this was the worst treatment I have ever received. The lady who did my pedicure went to speak to the owner in their language multiple times and it was evidently about me. Based on other 1 star reviews, I presume that I got the owner in my situation. I called ahead to see if they were busy or had a wait time to which they replied they were all open. So I drove 30 minutes and did a walk in. The guy sitting at the. Second table to the right took me in. When I explained to him (with pictures included) of the what I was looking for, he hurriedly "yes yes'd " me. This was my first time getting a gel dip with chrome and he seemed frustrated and was very curt with me with answers. When I showed him the pics of what I wanted, he told me he knew what to do. Well during the manicure, he was aggressive with adjusting my hands and would just wave his hand to tell me what to do next. When he finally finished, my nails were chrome however not the color I had asked. So I asked if they had swatches which he dug up and when I saw a sample of the color I had initially asked for, he went to talk to a woman there who actually knew how to do chrome. So I basically wasted my money on a service I didn't even receive. He did not apologize or try to rectify the situation, so I paid and left. The skin around my cuticles are stained and the nails are not rounded even close to evenly. I suspect the only reason this place is still in business is because of its location to El Paseo. I wanted to give them another shot but the utterly rude and condescending demeanor by this guy was enough for me to find a new nail technician immediately and I already have an appointment for them to fix what this place messed up. If you see my review history, I never leave 1 stars. So buyer beware of this place. read more

Whenever I look for a nail salon, my #1 concern is sanitation. I decided to go for it after reading their reviews and looking at photos to see if any customers had any cuts or sloppy nail polish on their fingers. They passed. I came here on a Sunday, with my sister-in-law, for a gel mani & pedi. They were very busy but equally as accommodating as we set up a time for us to return. The person who greeted us right away was very friendly and helpful. When we returned, we were seated right away. A+ for my nail job. Neat, even, painless, and super huge BONUS for me is that they didn't use a drill to remove my existing gel polish! They used a nail file, which is more work for them but less damaging for us. (Yes!!!) What sealed the deal for me was that as they were getting ready to close, I saw a lady on her hands and knees, scrubbing the feet of pedicure tub. Everything was so clean, not a speck of dirt on the floor, no nail file shavings on their manicure tables, and it didn't smell like acetone and nail polish. It was a very pleasant experience. And the prices are standard. Also, thanks to the employee for recommending a nail salon closer to home (I live 2 hours away). But whenever I'm in the desert, I'll definitely go back to El Paseo Nail Bar, over and over again!!! Highly recommend! read more

I stopped by this morning shop on my way to Coachella and really needed to get my nails done. They were very accommodating and was able to give my bf a pedicure and myself a dip nail treatment. No cuticle cutting or cuticle oil. Just dip! Pretty affordable at $40+ for dip powder nails. Great facility with lots of chairs. I didn't catch the guys name who did my nails, but he was wonderful. I'm always in desperate need of pedicures mainly because I have really bad, cracked, dry heels that I inherited from my father. I went there as a walk-in and they took me in right away. This place is very esthetically pleasing with separated pedicure stations in the back and manicure stations mainly in the front. They use liners for the pedicures so that is A+++ Since it is my first time there I opt for the hot pedicure which is priced at $41 and includes the basic pedicure (priced at $26: buffing, shaping, leg massage, hot towel and nail polish) and adds on foot mask, sea sat scrub, hot paraffin, what callus removal. I judge pedicures by how well they remove my callus. And this poor girl (I believe her name was Tasla) worked at then until they were smooth and baby soft. Her polish job was great too. Come time to pay and she charges me exactly $41 so no hidden fees for me. BUT! I see the sign that said they can't do credit card tipping luckily, she was able to charge my tip together with the price so I tipped extra well for the inconvenience. All in all I really like this place and will probably return here. They have a variety of nail polishes and their nail techs doing acrylics definitely looked like they were doing a good job. read more

Question? Why do women continue to pay for nail salons with untrained staff? Can't file or shape a nail, trim cuticles or polish without streaks, gel polish chipping in 6 days. Had a pedicure done twice with different ladies. A massage ? Well if you define it by : Pounding all over my leg with irregular hits, then I guess I got one! So when I requested another "professional " to do my manicure I was told "No, can't do it", "you come back later" "too busy". Well I did make an appointment and I did try to explain what I wanted while making this appointment. However, when making this appointment I was continually yelled at and asked "when you want to come?", "when you want to come?' " No regard at all about what I needed or wanted and they couldn't have cared less. The more of us they can run through the salon the better for them. The skin around my nail beds on my fingers are sore and red from my cuticles and my skin being torn by over cutting. I am reminded of why it has been years since I got a manicure because I will never understand the obsession with cutting cuticles and a bunch of skin around the nailbed. Everyone at the salon was really sweet and I so wanted to have a good experience but it's a day later and my fingers sting. I basically have a bunch of hangnails. My daughter had a pedicure and had a good experience -- they didn't overcut her cuticles and the woman was super sweet. They're very nice and I wanted to give a good review. I went in for a shellac mani and a spa pedi. They did a great job but the massage part was pretty wimpy. I still gave them 4 stars. If they had a 4.5, I probably would have done that. Downside: They only take cash. The cash machine onsite did a confusing inquiry piece that cost me $2.50 by my bank even after not completing the transaction. The owner said I could use venmo so I did that. To my surprise, there was an extra $10 added to the total price by my bank. The mani cost me $12 more than I thought when I walked out the door. What a hidden gem, you walk in and can immediately see the spa like decor and nice atmosphere. Nicely climate controlled, one lady was actually too cool, I think it felt great! Not typical of many salons where you end up sweating with just a fan in 115 Desert heat. The pedicure chairs are SO comfortable and the massage really works! They also have little flip ups for your legs, so no more uncomfortable leg lifts while getting your heels done! The prices are surprisingly low for what you're getting, less than any of the salons in the area. Nail salons are a DIME a dozen. Nail salon owners, please keep that in mind. If we don't like you, we move on to the next place. Start off by greeting /acknowledging customers by saying hello instead of blatantly ignoring someone awkwardly standing there. No one even looked up until I went to turn around and walk out. Secondly, I had a moody , irritable and sullen nail tech. I don't need a conversation with you, but don't act annoyed or pissed off because you are doing my nails. Get a different job if customers annoy you. She Did SNS. SKIPPED an entire step. She Didn't start with first applying the white powder base before moving on to dipping my nails into the Straight RED color. Now I've got that red shit just sitting on and staining my nail. No in between buffer. That'll be fun to remove the next time around. Thanks. And lastly, she was SICK. I didn't realize it until she started heavily snuffling and hacking her lungs out!! DISGUSTING WTF???!!! Really? If I get COVID from her , you better believe I'm coming after you guys. But today I walked in and the owner was so rude to me that I will literally never go back. He was upset that I didn't have an appointment but my go-to girl was happy to take me. I was trying to pick a nail color and that's when things went downhill. The owner started lecturing me for not having an appointment (so much for walk-ins welcome). He literally would not stop berating me for the fact that my girl was going to take me even though I didn't have an appointment. And when I say he was berating me, I am being polite. The other workers and customers were all staring at us and even the lady who had an appointment with my girl offered to go to someone else. The owner (who never even said hello to me, bothered to introduced himself or anything) told me that he was not going to allow her to do any services on me unless I made an appointment and came back another time. I am 50 years old and I have never had anyone in any service driven business ever speak to me or treat me that way. The owner, Donnie, was rude AF, unapologetic about it and made me feel extremely unwelcome. I wouldn't go back here after how he treated me even if he offered me free mani/pedis for life. Which is a shame, because my go-to girl is amazing and now I have to find somewhere else where manners and customers matter, because Donnie is truly an asshole. In my almost 15 years of getting my nails done this is by far one of the worst experiences I have had. To start the service was truly awful when we walked in there was no interaction except when we were told to sign in on an iPad. When we sat down both of our nail techs had truly terrible personalities. They seemed more annoyed at the fact that they had to wait on us. After my pedicure the tall male that was working on my started to do my nails. I came in for a new set and when he put on the tips he asked me what length I would like. When I told him I like them long he seemed bothered by that. He proceeded to start cutting the nails and then asked and I said I like them longer and he said they are long enough. 1. It's my choice the length 2. I wasn't asking for anything extreme. After he cut the nails I knew that I was not going to be happy. I asked him to stop and paid for my pedicure. My mom got a gel pedicure and to say it was the worst we have seen would be an understatement. Her cuticles were not cute and the polish was a mess. When we made a comment she said oh that's the polish. Like come on take some pride in your work. The worst part was they charged $42 We both left with only pedicures.
