I was in town for a spa day, and after enjoying massages at Miracle Springs Resort (check out my review), my sister wanted to get a pedicure and also grab some boba (Ms Boba). We ended up here because they weren't busy and had nail techs available. It's a very nice place, but I think I got the new girl. The massage was good, but they could have done more thorough nail cleaning, it wasnt just me, my sister agreed. Overall, it's a decent place, not great, but with room for improvement. read more

I used to come here often and it was great. They knew me by name. Now? Uncomfortably rude with lazy work. Something must have happened in their personal lives because I've never been experienced rudeness like this in a nail salon let alone from a husband wife team both with such crappy attitudes. I came in today with my children to get 3 nails fixed which broke less than a week ago since my appointment. Jerry's wife was assigned to me, not only did she come out really upset BUT she was extremely rude to me and my children (9, 7, 5, and 3 years of age) After working on my nails she attended to another customer. My four kids were hanging out in the corner of the room waiting (of course they are moving they are kids!) for me and Jerry's wife gets up from across the room and walks over to my children and PUSHES a chair my son was sitting on with all my kids around (keep in mind I'm watching all this and could not believe my eyes) In a calm voice I kept repeating "excuse me to her" and she walked away...I told her husband Jerry that she has NO right to be pushing my children...I comment to her that she needed to address me if there was a problem she kept coming back at me while Jerry sat there and listen and stayed quiet! They are both parents of four and should understand as parents. No apology nothing I was only there for 13 minutes! No MOTHER or CHILDREN should go through this. read more

Nothing crazy but just a little stronger. Owner came over quickly and told me "if i want a foot massage go down the street!" Now i have a manicuring license and worked in a salon. Jerry does a great job and he's always so welcoming. I'm a regular at this salon but unfortunately his wife made my last experience so uncomfortable by accusing me of breaking my nails on purpose, and when I tried giving her cash for the broken nails she ignored and walked right past me. I left the cash with Jerry so he wouldn't think I was ripping them off for free nails, he knows I wouldn't do that. Ironically SHE was the last one to do my fill, and 3 nails broke by the next week which is why I went in. If it's just Jerry in the salon go on in, but if you see his wife tread lightly she's very rude. read more

I have had my nails done here for years and never had an issue. Until today when my 15-yr old daughter was convinced by the owner to change the color she requested because he didn't have the right color. The paint and design were far from what she requested. I asked him to repaint her nails and he said he couldn't do it until 2 pm and she was already scheduled for makeup at that time for her pre quinceneara photo shoot. I usually get excellent service at this spa. But today, was the worst experience ever! And it was all attributed to the very rude, very unprofessional woman, who as it turns out is the manager's wife, Kim! I scheduled a Fiji Spa Pedicure on the luxury side of the shop. I said hello to the lady standing in the luxury side with 2 children. (Later found out she's Kim, manager's wife). I told her I was there for a pedicure with Tom but I needed to go to the restroom first. Then I went to the bathroom in the back as I have done on all my previous trips to this spa. When I got out I was seated on the less luxurious side of the shop; with no explanation when I asked why. Then that lady came over to me and berated me for using the restroom on the high end side of the shop. She told me next time I need to go on this side. I told her "Don't do that...that's a terrible way to treat customers." She continued to admonish me at which point I said "We're done here." She ranted a little more, reprimanding me like I'm her employee, then walked away. I still wanted to get my pedicure because Tom is excellent at what he does! I was sooooo looking forward to the awesome pedicure& leg message....I wasn't going let that bad apple spoil my good time. But I did want to get the word out about her poor customer service. So I took a picture to point her out to the Yelp community. She yelled at me from across the room that I couldn't take pictures in the salon, only at the front. She told me to delete the photo. Oh brother...Where does she think she works? Some Top Secret area of the Pentagon?! I went back to reading emails, ignoring her ridiculous diatribe. A few minutes later she comes over to me and again says I can only take pics in the front part of the store, not in the back. And I better delete the photo. And if I don't like it I can leave. Then she walked off. I was appalled by her rudeness! It was clearly making Tom nervous and he asked if I wanted to not get a pedicure today. I told him I'm fine and still wanted him to give me the pedi. But he became very uneasy, that rude woman was glaring at me. Her bad vibe was ruining my Spa Pedicure experience. I came here to relax and unwind. But that unprofessional, tactless, belligerent woman - who obviously doesn't know the first thing about good customer service - obliterated any possibility of relaxation. Kathy was absolutely wonderful, did a great job, the pedicure was awesome! The shop was beautifully designed, there was nice soothing music playing, it appeared to be a very relaxing atmosphere. I was definitely looking forward to a relaxing experience. However, I did experience what I believe appeared to be some form of discrimination, or at-most blatant disrespect and unprofessionalism. I came in to the shop...waited for about 20 minutes and was seated in a massage chair... I did not observe anyone else waiting in the shop or outside at that time. Another woman came in and was immediately waited on, to my suprise. This other woman stated to the staff member who proceeded to wait on her, "I believe she was first, referring to me." Despite being prompted the staff continued to wait on the other lady. I attempted to bring the matter to the staff, and Kim's attention, however, even when Kim was confronted with the awkward situation she chose to argue the point with me, rather than to work towards resolution. I was disturbed at how disrespectful and unprofessional Kim handled the matter. It appeared that Kim, Jerry and another woman were in charge or managing the shop at the time of my visit. No attempts were made to acknowledge the situation, instead they all chose avoidance, which was quite disheartening and disappointing... As a business, perhaps consider assigning numbers to guest to avoid confusion. Additionally, train staff to work on a resolution quickly and peacefully, this will allow for a more relaxed, caring and soothing atmosphere. The Top Nail's name suggests a level of quality and professionalism that needs to be maintained with every customer. Kathy was gracious and very apologetic, which needs to be the rule moving forward not the exception. read more

I have been searching for a place to get my nails done in Indio. I found this place and made an appointment and was quoted $50 for a full set and to remove the nails that I had on my fingers. When I arrived, Kim did my nails. She up charged me to $55 for taking my nails off then wanted to charge me an additional five dollars to do my cuticles. My nails came out horrible. They are very thick and wide and not shaped at all. I will have to go to another salon to have them fixed. read more

My family and I go to this nail salon loyally every time we visit LA Quinta for yearsss and we love it there. Great selection and very clean (props) but just had the most wildly inappropriate customer experience I've ever had at a nail salon or anywhere. And it wasn't even myself getting my nails done, but my sister. The nail tech was horrendous from the start. I was sitting with my sis chatting and joking about how for gel nails each additional color is $5 so if you wanted to do a gradient look it'd be an extra $45 on top of the cost. Almost before our butts hit the seats, she had pretty much ripped the nail books from our hands, demanded what color we wanted immediately, decided which nail style was not possible and sped through the entire thing like shes been there since three AM and had better things to do. I even asked to see examples of jeweled and marbled nail art designs and she literally just grunted? And this was before we got rebuked. My sis has gotten geI nails probably 100 times in her life and the tech told her this was how it was supposed to be done (ie only half your cuticles touches and fifteen seconds under the light). I thought there was going to be a yelling match. Manager was there and didn't do a thing. She was very upset with us and seemed somehow surprised that anyone would want to enjoy and relax during salon experience? It was absolutely mind blowing. In conclusion 99% of experiences at Top Nails have been very good, but this was grossly disrespectful and having now read the managers responses to negative posts, I am comfortable rating the place one star. I guess I came on a busy day because the service was not like it was before. I got a gel manicure but Kim was rushing. Certain nails were not covered completely with the nail polish. She hurried through it and then asked someone else to massage my hands. I understand places get busy, but the service and attention to detail should remain the same especially if you're charging me the same amount you would any other time. Kim was nice and friendly, but she just rushed. My husband had a pedicure and he really enjoyed the service he got. She did take her time with him which I appreciate. read more

Okay so I have missed feelings about this place. The people were nice and they were quick to get me seating. The place was clean, the seats were nice. They offered me water. The pitfalls, immediately before it even started I went to go on the chair and was quickly told "no" go around. To me it makes no difference but it is their rules, just could have been said before I went to sit down. I got the deluxe package which said a "15 minute foot massage" got maybe tops 5 mins, the pedicure was good but the gel on my nails were okay. She hurt me when she was trying to get the cuticles and I said ouch. She didn't have me wash my hands after she filed my nails which left bumps under the nail polish. I'm so happy with my nails!!!!! Thanks Kim! All of the people in the nail spa are such professionals and take such pride in their work. The salon is big with two sides. There is a fancy section with champagne that would be great for a group to go have a spa experience. It takes me 25 minutes to drive there , but I would drive an hour. I've been to literally every nail place in the desert and Top Nails is #1. I'm going to send both my mom and my daughter there! I love you Kim - thanks for making me so happy! read more

I wish I had read the reviews before going to this salon. The first time I went I was impressed with how well Kim did my nails and told her so. I asked for a gel fill when I booked the appt. My husband and I booked to have a pedicure and Kim did my husband's. She kept trying to upsell him and was very rude. My gel started peeling off around the edges so I made another appt for the same service and asked her why it had done this and if we could avoid this product. She ignored me and when I asked again - told me she heard me the first time! I wasn't very happy with how she did my nails this time and everything I said to her was an argument on her part. She put cuticle oil on my fingers at the end and expected me to leave with them in that condition. when asked for a cloth she told me to wash my hands. When I came to pay the service was $55 instead of the $45 I paid last time (three weeks prior). I argued and she said this was a gel fill - which is exactly what I had booked the last time. She finally relented but honestly I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I will not go back and told them exactly that. Best Pedicure in town. I have tired swollen feet and the two hour treatment was much needed. Take the time to treat yourself, your feet deserve it! I consider this treatment medicinal. It's much more than "I am worth it" it's "I must have it!" My feet feel awesome for over 3 days. It's much healthier to do this treatment than to take pharmaceutical medications. Horrible customer service and very cheap products they use. After a week 3 of my nails chipped and started ripping off. I went back & asked nicely to have them fixed. The same nail tech blamed me and said it was my fault that I needed a new set and it was the powder. I neither needed a new set and she didn't do powder the week before. She was rude and wanted to charge me $55 again for a new set! She lied, was rude infront if other clients and then the rest of her nail tech workers and her started talking smack in their native language. I was getting a pedicure with a very nice lady today, then i told them i would also like an eyebrow wax. They said ok so then this lady Kim? CamE in and literally went and grabbed the wax while i was sitting still getting my pedicure and reclines my chair. Im like wooho are you doing my wax here? She replies yes. I go ookKeyyy. So i let it be. Then she proceed with the waxing. I think ivE gotten a wax ever since ii was in high school with many diffeRent people and i know when someone is not really "trying" she was very rough, not gentle at all and was still left with some details i still had to fix when i got home. Why? Because when she hands me the mirror the mirrow is suuuper dusty i could barely see myself! Believe it or noT. Then shes staring at me with this mad face likE HURRYING ME! I couldnt believe i said yo her are you in a hurry? She looks at me back like wanting to say something else to me but she just thought about it i handed her thE mirror back and she walked away. Of course she walked to the ither side of the place talking in her language to the other girl in the salon. I had taken my busiines to best city nails in PD because theyre SUUUPER NICE. Have a great customer servicee and just happened to come here because it closer tto my house and the convenience of it. I think they need to understand that theres is a very hhigh competence in the valley and because oof that they should impROve theire customer service sskills. We are paying to go feel pampered! Went in on a Saturday at noon, the place is pretty empty. They have a lot of spa chairs and the place is clean. However, the polish colors are not enough. They could add more. It's pretty basic. They are not updated to keep up with the trend colors. Also, there's only one guy who speaks English. It was very frustrating trying to communicate with the lady who did my pedicure. It's one thing if they understand but not able to speak English, here at this place, they don't even understand. For the regular pedicure - it's ok. My pedicure came out ok. I had a pedicure on Friday, that evening my big toe was wad hurting, when I looked at it, it was swollen and bleeding, I nursed it with hydrogen peroxide and neosporin over the weekend today(Monday) it's still swollen and painful. Poor customer service. Perhaps they are more friendly with the locals. Scheduled girls weekend getaway and made appts for all three of us. We arrived early and the "owner" manager greeted us with, you the one that called for three right" i replied yes. He then asked what we wanted. We responded and he proceeded to have us sit stating he didn't have enough people to do us right now...by this time it was past our appt time. He got started on one of the girls in the spa chair. The sat on the spa chair and told me to sit at the station. I informed him that I also ordered a spa mani pedi with gel. He said he would start my mani then I could go later to get my pedi. By this point I was a bit irritated that he was not prepared for our appt. He then started on my nails and asked how I wanted my nails shaped. I stated "square round" he began filing, then asked how the first one looked. I then said it looks great but it may need to be a little shorter. He said he would have to cut, I stated I did not want them cut but filed. He said he "can't" I asked why, this was strange, I do it all the time at other places. He said "no only cut". He was not interested in asking why I wanted to file and not cut. He then said if you want me to file more "We don't do that out here, I can cut". Instead of arguing with an extremely stubborn man, I politely said, perhaps someone else can do my nails. He said ok and got up. Terrible terrible service. If my girls had not been with me, I would have left, but one had already started on her pedi. The gel mani was just ok. The colors of the gel polish and regular polish didn't match. Great nail salon! Christina is amazing, she pays close attention to detail for shaping and making your nails look practically perfect. She is also super sweet!! The managers are also very kind and funny, they remember your name when you come back which is very nice. I love their color selection for SNS, and I'm never ever disappointed in the results. Don't go here. Just don't. I went once a couple of years ago and it was great. Went again about two weeks ago and my experience is identical to most others. No other customers when I got there. Lady was reading a book and incredibly angry that I walked in. Had me check in on their ipad and was SO MAD that I selected a regular pedicure. Incredibly rough and throwing my feet back into the water. It was so bizarre that it almost seemed like an SNL skit. I attempted to engage her in polite conversation to break the tension she was creating but she wasn't having any of it. I live here year round and really don't understand this kind of business model at all. I'm never going back and others seem to have the same opinion.
