It is so upsetting. I asked for natural and while a slightly lifted look was an upside, she shaved my eyebrow and then stenciled on me a brow that goes against my hair growth. How is that natural? I look horrible. All I wanted was natural little hairs. do not go here. It's so upsetting. My impression and direction was always that this would have been precise hair strokes, not a stenciled tattoo which is completely fake looking. Never was it explained to me that this was how it would be executed and by the time she started it was too late. There was no discussion or approval.

I had…read morebeen toying with the idea of getting my brows tattooed for a while after psoriasis wiped them out several years ago. I only have a few small hairs above each eye and I was extremely embarrassed by this before my first procedure. Although I eventually became quite good at drawing them in, I was a perfectionist about it which nearly made me late to work on multiple occasions... needless to say, my self-esteem was pretty low. Then I came across a woman who just had her brows done - the only reason I knew they were tattooed is because they were red and slathered with Aquaphor. She referred me to Elaine and after a consultation, I could tell Ms. Chen would meet my (admittedly high) expectations. She is all about perfection and will not let you leave her office until she feels she has done all she can to make you look your best. My own mother couldn't tell my brows were tattooed and she KNEW I was getting this done!

That said, the lash design and mapping were not a fit for me. The set came out much more glam than what I was hoping for: very long, volumized, and low-set. On my eyes, the lashes hung forward, hit my glasses, and partially obstructed my vision. They also felt heavy on my naturally fine lashes. It's just not my personal style. The full set took about an hour, which made the experience feel more focused on speed than on customized eye-shape mapping. I do want to give credit where it's due: when I reached out, the studio was responsive and professional, offered to fix the set, and ultimately issued a partial refund, which I really appreciated. The studio is also reasonably priced and easy to book. This may be a great fit for clients who like bolder, dramatic, traditional glam lashes. If you're looking for a lighter or more natural/modern style, it may not be the best match. One additional thing to note is that the studio uses an open floor plan with multiple beds and clients in a shared room, which is consistent with the lower price point and worth knowing before you book.

She assess your brows, use some tools to map your brows and discuss along the way on how you would like your brows to be done before starting the procedure. I chose to get combo brows - which is having hair strokes in front of the brows and shade the tail end of the brows. She is no regret and I'm happy I decided to do microblading as I don't have time to do makeup anymore. It has been 1.5 years already and my brows are still full and even looking, but of course it will depend on your skin type and lifestyle (I'm a combo skin). Thank you, Mimi! You're absolutely the best!! 5 stars.

Mimi took the time to exam my previously microbladed brows to assess the situation before taking all the measurements, pictures, and discussed the process/changes she'll make to ensure I was happy before making my brows on fleek! Before the procedure began, Mimi ensured I was in a comfortable position and throughout the whole process, she walked me through what she was going to do next and if I had any questions, without any judgement she would answer them with great knowledge. After the procedure, Mimi provided me with after care instructions, everything you need before leaving, and scheduled my touch up appointment! Even before the touch up procedure, Mimi checked in to see how the healing process was going and if I had any questions. During the touch up session, she would again assess how the strokes healed before making any other adjustments tailored to my liking. I love my brows, I love how it's evenly shaped to my face, and her great service. Thank you, Mimi to starting off my year, beautifully!

It was PERFECTION! My whole experience was comfortable and relaxing, not once did I feel nervous. Everything was peaceful, clean, organized. I took more videos than I did pictures and I received a TON of compliments. I wanted a cat eye look with a little volume, but not too dramatic. I was a little nervous about trying a new place for semipermanent services. In our first session back in Oct 2023, she was in no hurry until she got it right. After we were done and I was getting ready to go, she asked if she could just add a few more strokes to balance the look. I was so thankful she cared so much; it was also past her normal work hours. She is also so kind and has a way of making you feel comfortable. My eyebrows had a light pinkish coloring from having done my brows from 1.5 years before. After the first session with Imah, a lot of the color faded within a few weeks and I could see the pink. I was a little concerned. When I reached out to Imah, she immediately put my mind at ease. She told me not to worry and assured me she knew exactly what she needed to do in our touch-up session in Nov 2023. She was 100% right. I was very satisfied with the results after touch-up. This time, the nanoblading did not fade in the same way as first session. In order to ensure she didn't miss any spots and allow for touch-up, she scheduled a follow-up session for early Feb 2024. I have since gotten all my touch ups with Imah and will continue to do so. I highly recommend Imah to everyone.
