I went to see (the oh so talented) Nick. I hadn't had a good cut in years and he delivered one of his signature cuts giving my hair depth and life. His blowouts are A1 and I left feeling brand new. I get complimented every time I leave the house. He's amazing at color and gives you exactly what you're looking to achieve. My daughter saw Carolyn this past weekend and she's been feeling herself ever since. She had some chunky highlights done elsewhere in Bay Shore and wasn't too happy. Carolyn gave her exactly what she was looking for with her balayage technique and it looks sooo naturally gorgeous. There's a reason so many people followed her and Nick from their former salon. Amazing people who love what they do and deliver gorgeous results.

We ended up doing it ourselves after brushing out the gobs of nasty product which left her hair looking greasy and glued to her head.

For one of the two she called to cancel but, admittedly, it was at the time that her appointment was to start because she did not feel well. The second was because she had given my brother the incorrect time (she is 86 and cannot drive and I do not live on L.I. and could not always make it down to bring her). I called again and they said that they would not make another appointment for her even though I assured them that I would be down to take her. The girl that I spoke with said that she would have her mother call me, but she never did. So much for caring for your loyal customers & the aged!!!

I find that extremely unprofessional as I am a customer in your salon and I'm about to pay $60 for a haircut. My stylist did a minimal job in giving me a hair cut. In retrospect, she never even used a comb or a clip to separate my hair. When I asked her to do a little shaping in the front, she was telling me she didn't want to because I had a side part. I'm leaving this review because three days later after blow drying my hair, my hair looks just not that great to be honest for an $80 haircut with poor service. This place was a miss for me. Unless you know a stylist that does exceptional work that works there, I wouldn't "try this place out" like I did.

After reading about/hearing about Dominican style blowouts or wash and sets everywhere, I started…read morelooking around where I live. I went to Amada Friday and OMG, believe the hype. I asked for a wash and roller set and the stylist spent about 30-45 minutes just deep cleaning my hair- I have extensions, so this is a big important part for me as a client. Without extensions, I suspect it might be less time, but not much. Product smelled amazing. About 15 minutes involved deep conditioning and detangling. My hair smelled SO GOOD. The stylist then managed to get my waist length hair into rollers- not an easy feat- perfectly and without any slippage. Then she netted it up and I went under the dryer for a while. I do not know how or why this effect is only achieved at Dominican salons, but my hair was evenly coated with some shiny substance that is neither greasy nor heavy. It's late Sunday night, and it's as picture perfect as if I hadn't sweated all day steam mopping and cleaning. I expect it to last the week. I love blowouts, and I love my regular stylist at my regular salon. However, these wash and set results are long-lasting, deep-cleaned PERFECTION. My hair is like silk and every strand is in place. Sleeping, sweating, driving with the window open- nothing has penetrated the layer of magic on my head. I have an event Wednesday night and I can't wait to go back. It is just SO GOOD. The cost for me was on par with salon prices for blowouts without extensions. With extensions salons charge more, so I suspect this salon is slightly lower than average for magical humidity proof glasslike shiny hair. Holy Hair Grail.
