Terrible customer service. I tried to schedule an appointment, at first the person on the phone was very friendly. Asked if I've ever been to the salon before and I said no, it would be my first time. She asked how I found out about the salon, I said Groupon. She then informed me that Groupons were for first time customers only and insisted that per their files, I was not a first time customer. Not only was this not stated anywhere in the Groupon but I hadn't even given her my name yet at this point, for her to look me up in their "files". I reassured her I had never been to the salon before. She hurriedly told me to text her for an appointment and hung up. I texted, and she never responded to me. If you're going to put your business on Groupon, then honor it. read more

I had my hair done at Glady's around spring of last year. I asked for a balayage, and she initially quoted me "$300 + toners + $65 haircut ($85)" totaling $450. This felt high considering my hair was already bleached to a light brown and I only had about 3-5 inches of black hair grown out. My hair was already damaged, thin, and not thick whatsoever so this price seemed excessive. This was also the quote given after I had sent a picture of my hair below. In person though, she calculated $350 telling me it was a discount because I was a first time customer. This had still felt very high given the amount of hair I had and viewing it in person, there was not that much hair to be dealt with. The reference photo I showed was a caramel balayage, meaning all I really needed was a root touch-up and a tone. Glady had done a very good job on the bleach session. However, there may have been a misunderstanding because the toner match was very off. Typically, for an ashy or caramel tone, the toner turns into a darkish purple/grey to tone out the brass especially after bleaching black hair. My toner started turning a light orange instead. I brought this up, asking why it was turning orange/red instead of purple or grey. She insisted it was okay so I stayed patient and let her do her thing. We washed it out, and my hair was red. She tried to fix it by toning my hair again afterwards with another toner to correct the red, but there was little to no difference even after drying it. Keeping in mind that hair tends to look darker when it's wet. So, I did see what it looked like dry. She then proceeded to tell me that she'll bleach my hair again, which seemed extreme, doing a bleach and two tones, then suggesting another bleach and doing it all one sitting is excessive. At that point, I asked to just pay and leave. I was charged $150, and while I understand if there was some miscommunication, the experience felt unprofessional and disappointing even after kindly speaking up about it to her. The result was far from what I had asked for. The picture below of me in the blue shirt was the before. I included a picture of the after as well. She really did such a good job on the bleach and I could tell that her technique was thorough and she took her time. I'm just disappointed that for the little amount of hair I have, the costs were so high even without a haircut it would be roughly ~$365. All I am saying is please beware, because if you have longer, thicker, and fuller hair you're going to get charged a lot more than I did even after getting consulted in person. The person is super sweet. Her work with my hair color fell very short of that. I wanted my all grey hair to be colored with black in the second half. However, she messed up the sides they are so uneven around my face it's visible. Left side and right side are not equal and it looks funny. She also took way longer than anticipated that the salon staff were showering us with dirty looks while her next customer showed up and was significantly delayed giving this experience a very negative memory all around. I paid over $200 for this mess and my daughter screamed me an appointment with her colorist at Ulta to fix the uneven color on both sides of my face. read more

Unfortunately did not recieve what I asked for. I came in with long faded-out red hair that went down my back and very grown out roots. I was wanting to chop most of the dead hair off and go back to my natural hair color which is light-ish brown. I asked for my hair to be past my chest area and the most my hair will reach is barely to my shoulder. I also didn't ask for layers so I don't know why I recieved layers. Not to mention the fact that my hair was dyed BLACK?? It's also patchy as f*** because she VISIBLY missed entire chunks of my hair and went back to fix it when it was already time to rinse SMH . You also don't need cosmetology or beauty school to know you're not supposed to start brushing from the middle of the hair, especially on curly, textured hair like mine, you start at the ends, like hello? I sincerely apologize if she sees this al though i hope she does, but i tried for a whole week to like my hair and not to write a review but i can't help that i spent $400 on something i didn't ask for. If there's a way to leave negative stars, I would. This is a TERRIBLE experience. The merchant participated in Groupon and refused to redeem the voucher. As soon as she heard I am using a Groupon voucher, she refused the option for me to make any appointments and said that I can only do walk-ins. After I arrived, 3 people showed up after me but guess what? The merchant prioritized these people, ALL 3 of THEM, ahead of me, without giving ANY reasons. This is not only a terrible experience, but a humiliating one. If you don't want to accept Groupon, then please don't offer it in the first place. This is beyond disappointing. If you want a fair experience, don't ever visit Gladys Hair. read more

Firstly, it's unfortunate I have to post this with even 1 Star as I would give her ZERO. When I called to reserve an appointment she answered the phone saying she was too busy to talk to me & asked me to call back later. VERY off putting for a first time call. When I replied "excuse me?" She said she'd call me back later then hung up on me. When her assistant (who had the same voice as the previous woman) called me back later, I let her know I had a Groupon for Shampoo, hair cut and oil massage. She asked if I could pay her directly & I said "No it's already purchased through Groupon." I asked for a 9am and she said she's too busy & told me to come at 10:30am, I asked if she could make 10am work. She asked me to text her my name, phone number, date and time of the appointment. Umm, isn't that her job?! Regardless, I did. I showed up today for my appointment at 10am with her lights off & door locked. She kept me waiting 15 minutes. This let me know immediately that she wasn't in fact "TOO BUSY" with another client prior to me, instead she deliberately CHOSE to not take me at 9am. When she arrived at 10:15am she did not apologize once, was very skimpy on the shampooing, brushed my hair aggressively & could feel her tearing out my hair with every pull. She told me my hair was very damaged & I informed her that was one of the reasons for purchasing the Oil Massage. Apparently she forgot about that when scheduling & MY text confirming since she acted very surprised and asked me to show her the Groupon. She then scanned it and performed the oil massage while telling me this wouldn't help my damaged ends. (Isn't that why I'm cutting it?!) While sitting under the blow dryer she put on all her make up for the day in the customer mirror (which I found to be extremely unprofessional). After rinsing the oil and upon hand blow drying she burned my scalp as I pulled away in pain!... She continued humming to her jazz/piano music and clearly didn't even acknowledge it. EVEN after all of that I offered to tip her on my card (bc I'm a service provider and know how important tips are) and she said "You don't have cash?" I let her know I only had a $5 dollar bill and she said that's fine. Didn't say thank you, didn't say I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, didn't acknowledge a damn thing. She is rude & so extremely inconsiderate. I will NEVER be back- donotwaste your time or money. read more

And then made an appointment over the phone as it was mentioned in the Groupon. Over the phone, Maria said I should not pay on Groupon. I explained I have already paid. The haircut was alright but the coloring was definitely not. I had blue hair highlights and bought the Groupon for a haircut and full color to get the color refreshed, but the lady didn't seem to understand all my English explanations and my hair turned out to be black (my natural color). She also asked my personal questions and proceeded to judge my life decisions. Mind you, I'm doing well for myself with a well-paid job, no debt, a stable relationship, and it's definitely not her place to comment. If you speak Spanish you might have better luck with telling her what you want to do with your hair. I highly suggest not going to this place otherwise - your hair might not turn out how you want it. read more

I found this salon at groupon and went there for hair color and styling. I was charged an extra 60 bucks than the coupon amount bec she said it was too much work for her but didn't mind as I liked the color and styling she did..only to find out that the color faded away after 3 washes. And I used the expensive organic loma shampoos that Maria recommended. Later when I reached out to her asking for a follow up appointment because my hair basically looks blonde now which I don't like, she told me that the shampoos I bought after her recommendations weren't for red hair. So I have ended up spending dollars to basically get my hair bleached. Pretty disappointed with the customer service. read more

She gave me decent hair cut. For full color,I was looking for a brown hair color and she directed me to a darker shade which looks more black than brown.
