New Fave Iced Coffee: The Lemon Poppyseed Shaken Espresso If you are in Spring Valley/La Mesa area, you have to stop by and try this drink. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was able to peek the inside from their drive thru line and the seating and space looks very comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The drive thru line itself is a huge plus for me when on-the-go before work/errands.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Getting back to the drink, I did order this iced with Oat Milk and half sweet -- It is so delicious My coworkers were even surprised at how much they liked it because of the lemon. Me personally? I love anything with lemon in it. Well balanced, tasty, not too much... just right and strong to get you through the day!

Okay people!!! Just was brought to this magical place!!! and I'm in love!! Got the pickled tots... oh my!! So good I forgot to get a picture! [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is just so cute! I could spend hours!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then the food menu... don't get me started. I think I'm coming back daily until I try it all!!!

I thought this place would be good because there is always a long line but we went and our order was completely wrong, one of the drinks was not good and the girl in the drive thru was not helpful at all. We paid $35 dollars plus tip for two regular drinks and two tiny sandwiches. I ordered an elderberry hibiscus cooler that was supposed to have chia seeds in it (probably two chia seeds in the whole thing) and it tasted like water. My partner got a blended cold brew which was good. I asked for a sausage hashbrown sandwich with cheddar and muenster cheese only and got a sandwich with arugula, onions, sauce, sausage, hashbrowns and NO cheese. My partner got an ultimate breakfast sandwich that had the correct ingredients but was underwhelming. We asked for a side of avocado and the unpleasant lady at the window just said, "No." hahaha so overall not a good experience. Neither of us ate our sandwiches or finished our drinks.

This is probably my 3/4th visit. Every single drink I've gotten from here never disappoints. From the banana espresso, to the chocolate shake, mochas and the cookie butter chai I had today - so good! And the service is always pleasant, so far always friendly ! The food is very good too, have no complaints. I will say the sausage in the breakfast sandwich is too sweet. But the steak Sammy's are very good! This place is definitely chill vibes! Would definitely come here again and again! (Especially love the drive thru!)

I was recommended here by a friend and came on a Sunday and the drive thru line was insane. It like wrapped around. So I parked thinking I could go in but the inside was closed. Not sure if it's every Sunday or just that day. I was sad to leave and not get to try. I came back today a Friday morning and the line was just as long. I opted to go in and so glad I did. I ordered the white chocolate mocha blended cold brew with caramel drizzle and it was so good! Now I understand the long lines! They have so many good drink and food options to select from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is so cute and so perfect to catch up with a friend or on work emails or just relax and enjoy a coffee.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The workers were friendly and fast. I waited maybe 5 minutes for my drink. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was pretty busy as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is definitely somewhere I plan to come back to again.

I don't even know where to begin, everything we ordered was top-notch. Every single coffee and dish was amazing, and I'll definitely be coming back. The seasonal menu was incredible, and honestly, I wish I could give more than five stars. And the tater tots? Absolute fire. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area, don't sleep on this place!

This place is a gem, the menu is extensive and both the food and drinks are consistently good. The coffee and the matcha are quality, [[HIGHLIGHT]]there is plenty of seating and the atmosphere is fun and laid back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The parking is tough on weekends but otherwise this is truly the best coffee shop in the area!

I was looking for a new drive-thru coffee spot and was lucky enough to find this gem pretty close to me. Not only do they have tons of delicious hot and iced drink options, but they also carry the best selection of breakfast and lunch items as well. Everything i've had here so far has been absolutely delicious and I can't help but tell everyone I know about this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside dining is spacious and very modern.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is always quick as possible and friendly. If you like bold flavors, i'd recommend the BLTA chipotle bagel sammy. Best sandwich i've ever had, hands down. I don't think you could go wrong with anything you choose though. The drive-thru/parking lot situation can be tough on a busy day, since it's tucked in a small corner right off the freeway but it's more than worth it. Don't forget to ask for a punch card to earn free drinks!

Stopped by Gladly Coffee--not really a big coffee guy, but this place surprised me. The Chimichurri steak sandwich was the highlight. Really solid--great flavor, good portion, and cooked right. Stopped by here to get my Grill coffee, did not expect the food to be filling, but it was. Tried the Dirty Harry Latte even though coffee's not really my thing, and it was actually pretty good. Service was great. Overall, came for a quick bite and ended up impressed. Definitely worth it, especially for the food.

    Loaded pickle tots
    Na J.

The service was amazing and the young woman taking my order recommended the pickle tots after I wanted to try the regular tots with the pickle dip, what a good genuine upsell!!! The moonlight magic latte was soooo good and was perfectly balanced, I could make out each individual flavor profile. The drive thru was busy but was constantly flowing and the service inside the cafe didn't feel rushed at all, order came out quickly and well made, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will definitely be back to try more signature lattes and enjoy the cafe ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful space indoors, lots of seating options both indoors and outdoors![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was PACKED on a Saturday morning, both inside and the drive through.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is fast, which I appreciate! We ordered the bees knees latte and the lemon poppyseed shaken espresso and both were delicious!!! Will be back for sure.

The market is well sorted with lots of interesting items and fair prices. The only thing is their tall cans of craft beer. A lot of them were old or had no date on the bottom of the can and as someone who works in the beer industry let me tell you. Beer does go bad. Not in a you can't drink it kind of way but flavor declines, especially craft beer. Skunky, taste changes, aroma changes, color changes, it's just not great. I picked up a can that was dated May 2025, for craft that is OLD and not good. Not a problem for your average person but I'm just letting y'all know. Nonetheless this place is delicious, the service is great, fast, friendly. The food is overall good, the market is nice and well sorted. What I don't understand are the comments that say I been here so many times but never left a good review, suddenly they have one bad experience over something like not enough lettuce or they ran out of something and leave a bad review. Over the years that I've been coming here, I've been pleasantly surprised to find that the quality, portion size, and price point has kept pace with inflation and remains the best sandwich option in East County." I'm certainly not the longest-running customer of this spot, but I have been coming to Grove Grinder ever since I moved to the area four years ago. I kept coming back, wrote rave reviews in San Diego food-related social media groups and threads, bugged food influencers about them, and sent many of my friends and family their direction because I was that big of a fan. My husband and I have taken these sandwiches on roadtrips and plane rides, grabbed them in the middle of household chores, and picked them up for each other when the other is too tired or sick to cook. The reason why I'm ultimately knocking this review back and heavily questioning whether I should return has to do with a disappointing experience from my last visit with my husband that we now think was part of a larger pattern. The past couple of times we saw this person at the register, we used my name for the order. This time, though, my husband gave his name instead and the person at the register gave him some attitude about it and asked "You're *really* going with that?" I don't understand what their problem was with his name, but both the person in the front and the staff in the back refused to use it. They called out everyone else's names (and they usually call out mine when I order) and we noticed that our sandwiches were looking skimpy compared to how stacked we know they can come. My husband uses a nickname that might not be the name he was given at birth, but is a name he has used for over 20 years and might as well be his "real," name. We don't want to make assumptions, but most of the staff has always been at least a little cold towards us at best, slightly rude at worst, and even though this experience might seem relatively small to some, it's ultimately the straw that broke the camel's back. We suspect that their distaste for us might be politically motivated. We know it can't be personal because we've been nothing but polite. It sucks, but it seems to be that if they perceive you to not be "their people," your money isn't as green at their establishment, even if it spends all the same. I loved this place and felt lucky that they're close to my house, but feeling disrespected and like the staff are trying to fire us as customers is enough motivation to take our business elsewhere.

They were running two back-to-school sandwich specials with one for $10.99 and another for $16.99. Personally, almost $17-$20 for a sandwich didn't really feel like much of a special. The service was definitely the highlight of my visit. The cashier was incredibly friendly, offered great recommendations, and the woman working behind the deli counter was just as welcoming. I ordered the: *Jerk Turkey Sandwich: you can choose from white, wheat, sourdough, a roll, or an onion roll for an additional $3. I went with white bread. I was expecting more of a deli-style hoagie or Subway-style sandwich, but it ended up being served on two slices of sandwich bread. It tasted good, but it honestly reminded me of something I could easily make at home. There just wasn't much of a wow factor. The sandwich came with pickle spears and your choice of macaroni salad, potato salad, or another deli side. The side portion was fairly small, a couple of bites worth, but the macaroni salad was great. My total came to nearly $15, which felt pretty expensive for a sandwich on sliced bread and a small side. While I really appreciated the friendly service and enjoyed the food, I didn't think it offered enough value for the price. Overall, it was a decent lunch, but not memorable enough to make me want to return.
