Recently we decided to undertake a remodeling of our kitchen area. Some friends of ours recommended Avi at Gladiator Construction. Upon interviewing him, we thought he was someone we could do business with, so we hired him. Many of you know about the kinds of things that can happen when working with contractors. However, Avi made a real effort to do what he said he would do. He didn't nickel-and-dime us for every small thing, and was genuinely interested in giving us what we wanted. The workmanship was of very good quality. Inevitably there were a few misunderstandings, but Avi approached those as problems to be solved, didn't get defensive, and we were always able to come to an agreement. We have been very pleased with the outcome, and friends of ours who have seen the results have been very impressed. Even the city building inspectors, whom I would expect to get pretty jaded, commented on how nicely it came out. It turns out that Gladiator is run by two guys who have been friends since grade school, both named Avi, and the Avi we got was not the Avi our friends had dealt with. This didn't seem to matter, as everything they said about their Avi applied to our Avi. Perhaps the most telling thing that I can cite is that at the end of the project we were still on cordial terms with him. At this point there's really not much left to be done in our house, but if there were, we'd certainly be willing to work with Avi again. read more

We had our garage redone into an ADU. Gladiator construction did such a great job at a great price. They worked very independently and the process was smooth from signing to finish. There are 2 Avi's in the company. I met the owner Avi during his initial preview of the premise and he gave me a really competitive quote compared to the others. When we got permit, we started working with another Avi who was professional and very patient with us since we weren't great at making up our minds about certain issues haha. Avi and his team at Gladiator did an excellent job of remodeling the garage and home bar of our 1961 A. Quincy Jones MCM architectural home. We had very specific ideas about what we wanted, as well as a hard deadline, and Avi worked with us well to make sure we could get the project done on time and on budget, to our high standards. The carpentry team did amazing work in our bar, very precisely fabricating every piece of the cabinet surrounds, underbar, back bar, bar top, and toe kicks from the materials we had supplied. The joinery was extremely well done, particularly where the underbar material meets the floor in a beautifully even, flush manner. The electrical team had to completely gut the garage and redo the electrical from scratch, including installing sub-panel with high-current outlets for an A/C, electric car charging, and high-power tools. Working with an old house isn't always straightforward or easy, but they did an excellent job to make all the features we needed work well. Their supplier was able to procure a very nice replacement garage door which significantly increases the curb appeal of our home, and helps keep the garage well-sealed and secure. Avi did an excellent job managing the project to keep everyone on time, and was extremely communicative and easy to reach. When bumps in the road came up, like the installation of the new garage door opener not being simple, due to the construction of the garage interior, he was good at presenting us with possible options and working towards a happy solution. read more

I interviewed 6 contractors for my bathroom remodel, I was very impressed with Avi, his experience, and knowledge. It was a total gut job. The demo crew was fantastic, cardboard on all the floors, zipper plastic doors, were extremely careful about my walls, and since I live in a condo they were very careful removing all the debris out of the complex to there truck. His crew was terrific is working with me every step of the way. Explaining everything in detail to me before a segment was started. As we progressed into the actual tiling, accessories to be placed we worked very closely every day to insure it was exactly how I envisioned it. We changed a few things before they started a segment and his crew was great about listening to my thoughts and what I wanted. Honestly they never said no to anything and a few times had to do a bit extra work to make it as I wanted it, never a complaint. Also had a number of good ideas on there own I incorporated into the remodel. The end result was fantastic, as you can see by the photo. Avi was on site most everyday, or a phone call. His attention to detail was astounding, a few small issues we had were eliminated immediately upon a discussion or phone call. I can't compliment his crew enough for they're work ethic, exceedingly meticulous, and always willing to explain details of there work to me. What can I say about Avi and Gladiator except they SAVED my job. I had a previous contractor that left my back house project a disaster. It hadn't passed any of the critical inspections, work was done improperly and the list goes on and on. Avi kindly jumped in and handled very tricky situations with inspectors and other officials with finesse and integrity. There was so much that had to be re-done, inspected, adjusted and fixed.
