I went for a long walk around the lake at night and in the morning it was a quick walk to coffee if you want to get out of the hotel/ Really nothing to complain about as far as the hotel itself. Chocolate in the room upon arrival. Decent bed. Most importantly, air conditioning that worked on a very hot summer day. I would stay the Ritz Carlton I walked by nearby next time but it was okay enough. They weren't super nice at check in when I told them that no, I was paying for the room and it should have been in my name. Pretty sure he rolled his eyes at me, even if not intentional. They also could not give change at the desk for USD/CHF, which is pretty standard at hotels in Europe. Aside from that and being less than impressed with how small the room was, even for EU, it was good enough but not anymore than 3 stars for me.

They provide a pass for public transportation, but most things are close enough to walk. The room was small but clean. As a solo traveler it met my needs. As a budget hotel the room didn't have a minifridge, or a kettle for tea/coffee. The bathroom was small but clean. The staff was friendly and courteous. The breakfast is for an additional fee. Overall, I would recommend. I do not have anything negative to say, other than it's a bit pricey, but this is Switzerland.

You need your hotel room key to gain access at night to the hotel and to use the elevator. Also, the complimentary breakaway was delicious and had a great variety of items. The bathroom was pristinely clean and the water pressure was perfect. This is likely a result of the clientèle they regularly serve. The United Nations offices, Red Cross and WHO are very close by, so there are large numbers of dignitaries staying in the hotel on a regular basis. This also means a very secure environment that caters to people of varying nationalities. The TV channel selection, for example, reflects this. Be sure to visit the hallway with photos of some of the well-known people who've stayed at the hotel, which was first opened in 1964. We certainly had one of the lower end rooms, facing west toward some local housing (and a co-op) vs. overlooking Lake Geneva in the distance. Incidentally, the co-op has some decent ready-to-eat food selections... so if you don't want a sit-down meal, it might be a good place to visit. Other than the hotel restaurant, there are only a few good places to eat within easy walking distance of the hotel. Our room was spacious by European standards, and there was beautiful lighting, extra seating, and desk space. A room safe and minibar are part of the package. The king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed, with an expansive deep bathtub and wonderful large bath towels. The toiletries were a rather exclusive brand and had a great unisex scent. We only had breakfast in the restaurant, but it, too, was outstanding. Both buffet and menu selections were available. Servers were competent and sincerely nice. We especially enjoyed our interactions with Sarah. The hostess was wonderful as well. This hotel had many amenities that we didn't use, like a pool and sauna. Be sure to look these up ahead of time so you bring what you need.
