Pepperoni pizza
Eddie D.

Their address has changed, be sure to get the correct address before going. They're new place is by the end of 9north. I ordered the Pepperoni pizza and it was legit, not sure why they have some bad review in them. It has the right sauce and spices, the dough is chewy. The also have ice cream specialties and has nice outdoor seating to enjoy their delight. Definitely a recommended place for pizza lovers who are near this area.

The cheesy breadsticks here are bomb and really well priced! The marinara sauce is also good.

The people were friendly but the food wasn't very good. Mediocre at best. The pizza crust was not chewy - more like bread.

Nonna Lisas Kitchen - Homemade Italian Ice

Nonna Lisas Kitchen

The Yelp reviews for Nonna Lisa's Kitchen were a main factor in deciding to come here for dinner…read more(we live in MI and were on vacation). I was excited to try this place with the reviews but was a little apprehensive when we pulled up - small strip mall that has seen better days but we were hungry and figured we would give it a shot. The interior is cute -- but small. Not many tables but thankfully we were on the early side for dinner so only one other table was occupied when we arrived. We quickly decided what we wanted to eat and placed our order. Our salads came out fast and they were very delicious. I am a sucker for black olives so was thrilled to see them on the salad. I noticed that the other table (a couple) were still waiting for their meal and it showed up a short time later. A few more tables were seated and we were still waiting for our meal. It became evident that there was one server and one cook. When our meal showed up, we were not disappointed. The sauce on my chicken parm was savory with just a hint of sweetness. And it had chunks of tomatoes in it - huge plus for this tomato loving gal! I don't know where they got this chicken breast but it was huge! It was very well seasoned and probably one of the best chicken parms I've ever had in my life! For dessert, my hubby decided to get the cannoli dip. I'm bummed that I cannot eat dairy cuz that dessert was massive! My husband barely put a dent in it and took the rest home for a snack later on that evening. We would definitely come back again if we are in the area!

We ordered a large salad that came with bread and butter. Very soft fluffy Italian bread. The spaghetti with meat sauce ease was quite a lot of meat sauce. Very generous with meat and sausage meat. One of us ordered a side of meatballs and those were quite large. The chicken parmigiana was tender. And also smoke. Everything was reasonably priced and we all needed a doggy gag. Service was friendly and prompt. We will need to come back again.

They serve complementary warm bread with garlic herb butter and it's delicious. The heirloom and burrata salad was the perfect starter, so fresh. I got the spaghetti with clams and it was one of the best I've had in New England. My mom got the special and really enjoyed it. We shared the grilled artichoke and were really surprised at how generous the portion was and how affordable the price was. Service was fine. Nothing noteworthy. Didn't get checked on very often, but maybe that's their style? Either way, really good experience. Would recommend and would go back.

Unfortunately, I think this visit will be our last. Two years ago, we ordered their meats, and everything was phenomenal. This time, we decided to try their pastas, and it was a mistake. How an Italian restaurant of this caliber can mess up pasta is beyond me, but it was bad. My husband ordered the bucatini all'amatriciana (or maybe it was spaghetti?), and it was anything but amatriciana. The pasta was drowning in a tomato sauce that tasted like Chef Boyardee, the guanciale was barely noticeable, and the whole dish had an overly watery, acidic flavor. It was awful. I ordered the mushroom fettuccine, which was better but still not my favorite. They went way overboard with the cream, throwing off the balance completely. For dessert, we ordered affogato, but our waitress walked away so quickly we didn't even have a chance to specify whether we wanted it with amaro or limoncello. She didn't ask, either, and ended up bringing ice cream without any topping (which was supposed to be included) and with a lackluster presentation. To be fair, the appetizers were excellent. The duck confit and crostini topped with sardines were both perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. The price-to-portion ratio for the appetizers was also great, and we still loved the cozy, romantic ambiance of the restaurant. But there's no excuse for how disappointing the entrees were. For the price and reputation, we expected so much better.

It didn't take long to identify the state's core competencies: Producing world-class cheese Perfecting brick oven pizza Aggressively curating a very specific political vibe Curiously, only two of those things are edible, and unfortunately, you can't get pizza without being reminded of the third. Also worth noting: I'm not convinced any other style of pizza exists in Vermont. If it's not artisanal, wood-fired, and served on a reclaimed barn board, it apparently doesn't make the cut. So naturally, my brain locked in and I ate pizza two nights in a row like a creature of habit. Night 1: Pizzeria Verità Parking was...aspirationally convenient. After navigating downtown Burlington, which feels like a live-action sociology thesis, I made it inside. Let's address the elephant in the room: the price. With tip, I dropped nearly $30 for what amounted to a personal-sized pepperoni pizza that politely declined to fill me up. I assume part of the cost goes toward sourcing ethically massaged tomatoes or ensuring the mozzarella had a fulfilling upbringing. Now, to be fair, the pizza was excellent. Truly. Great crust, quality ingredients, clearly crafted by someone who cares deeply about their art. But the value? That's where things get a little...Vermont. Delicious? Absolutely. Filling? Not quite. Financially efficient? Only if you measure wealth in vibes. I went in skeptical, left impressed, and still had to consider a second dinner.

I have read that the service can be slow. That is to be expected if your food is being prepared to order. Lasagna? Amazing! My favorite and first entrée I ever ordered is Linguine Alle Pescatore. Yum! Prices, in today's dollars, are reasonable and comparable (less, even) to a couple of Italian restaurants in downtown Burlington. Go here!

The ambience was nothing to talk bout, but it was a snowy Tuesday night so you can't expect much. A bit dark and cold, like a Nonna's basement. Service was great: prompt, polite and attentive. The food was the problem. Caesar salad was great, no complaints there. My wife got a Pinot Grigio that was meh, but at $9 a glass, it was expected. I ordered a Pappardelle bolognese, and it was a disaster. The noodles were good, the bolognese was murder; too much of it, so much it was dry, it was quite frankly off-putting, looked like dog food. I tried eating it so I picked at only the noodles but I just couldn't, it didn't taste right. I should've taken a picture, I just didn't want to be rude, and I don't send food back. My wife got a Mushroom Risotto and it was plain and a bit 'al dente. I ended up eating that with her and even so we ate about half the portion. Portions however were huge! If other dishes are better presented and/or better tasting, you are getting more than your money's worth, alas, it was not so for the dishes we picked.

After approaching a waiter, he mistakenly assumed we were part of a 14 person group. After about 15 minutes, he called us to that large table. We immediately questioned it and asked where our reserved table was. Only then did he realize his mistake and told us our table had already been given to someone else. We never sat down. There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to fix the situation. We were left standing in the middle of the restaurant with no guidance. The worst part was the bartender or server's behavior. She said that at some point we would be seated, but if we were not happy, we could come back another time. She said this smiling, with irony and disregard, as if delivering good news. She then went back to the bar smiling, ignoring us while repeatedly glancing at us, which felt dismissive and mocking. There was no manager present and no one took responsibility. No one explained what would happen next or showed any intention of correcting the mistake. We left and went to Peak 47, where we had the same prices, much better food, and truly professional service. The contrast could not have been clearer. Reservations clearly mean nothing here. Unprofessional staff, no accountability, and a complete lack of respect for customers. Avoid this restaurant.
