The associate who helped me was Grace, and from start to finish, she was AWESOME! She walked me through all of the options, answered all of my questions, and made me feel completely at ease throughout the entire process. I will definitely be returning in the future for all of my jewelry needs. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a piece of jewelry for themselves or someone else. Yesterday, I had an appointment with Grace at Brilliant Earth to explore engagement rings…read more Unfortunately, the entire experience was incredibly disappointing and fell far below my expectations. Given Brilliant Earth's reputation and the beautiful rings showcased online, I expected a personalized, thoughtful, and enjoyable experience. Instead, I encountered impersonal service, a rushed and seemingly scripted appointment, high-pressure sales tactics, and underwhelming ring quality. Prior to my appointment, I explicitly communicated to Grace via email that my partner and I were in the very early stages of engagement ring shopping. My goal was simply to explore different settings, understand my preferences, and try on a variety of designs. I even provided links to several Brilliant Earth rings I was particularly interested in seeing. Despite this advance communication, none of the rings I requested had been pulled or prepared for my appointment. Grace showed me a handful of settings from the display case, none of which were the designs I had specifically mentioned. I actually spotted some of the rings from my email in the case myself and had to ask to see them. The entire purpose of my visit was to explore settings, yet this portion of the appointment felt incredibly rushed. I wasn't even given the opportunity to try on everything I wanted, or even look in the mirror before we were directed back to the table to look at diamonds. This was particularly frustrating because I had already made it clear that we were nowhere near the stage of selecting a diamond or making a purchase. Rather than listening to my needs and tailoring the appointment accordingly, Grace seemed determined to move us through a predetermined sales process. At one point, Grace asked what would be a helpful next step and suggested showing me a diamond shape I liked in one of my preferred settings. I agreed that this would be helpful. However, she then asked me to leave the room so she could speak privately with my partner about pricing and timing. During that conversation, she told him that I could see the combination I had requested if he paid for half the ring. I found this completely inappropriate and frankly unbelievable. We were there to explore options, not commit to purchasing a ring. The idea that seeing a particular diamond shape in a setting would be contingent on a substantial financial commitment, especially during an initial consultation, is absurd. What should have been a simple, helpful part of the shopping experience was turned into a sales opportunity. Beyond the sales pressure, the service itself was incredibly impersonal. Grace's approach felt robotic, transactional, and rehearsed. There was little effort to understand my preferences, explain the different settings, answer questions thoughtfully, or make the experience feel special. It was as though every customer was expected to follow the exact same appointment structure, regardless of what they had communicated beforehand. Engagement ring shopping is a significant and deeply personal experience. Customers should feel listened to, supported, and excited about the process, not rushed through a sales script or pressured into making a financial commitment before they're ready. I left feeling like a potential transaction rather than a valued customer with whom Brilliant Earth wanted to build a relationship. To make matters worse, I was also extremely underwhelmed by the quality of the rings themselves. The settings I handled appeared poorly made and did not reflect the craftsmanship or quality I expected based on the company's online presentation. Additionally, the showroom rings I was shown contained cubic zirconia rather than actual diamonds. A major part of shopping for an engagement ring is understanding how a diamond looks, sparkles, and interacts with a particular setting. Using CZ in the display rings made it difficult to properly evaluate the finished product and further diminished the experience. Ultimately, Brilliant Earth completely missed the mark. Beautiful online marketing means very little when the in-person experience fails to deliver on quality, service, and genuine customer care. My biggest disappointment wasn't simply that the appointment went poorly. It was that there seemed to be no genuine interest in understanding what I wanted or making this milestone feel meaningful. This is a purchase that requires trust, patience, and a personal connection, none of which I experienced. I will be taking my business elsewhere, to a jeweler that values building relationships, listens to its customers, and understands that purchasing an engagement ring should be a memorable and positive experience, not a pressured sales transaction. I sincerely hope Brilliant Earth reevaluates its approach to customer appointments. A more personalized, attentive, and customer-focused experience would go a long way toward living up to the reputation the company has built online.

I want to give a special shout-out to Teresa, the store manager, who made our first visit truly exceptional. My teen daughter was feeling shy and awkward walking in (shopping for jeans will do that), and let's be real - the last person she wanted style advice from was me. But Teresa was a total gem. She was friendly, approachable, and instantly put my daughter at ease. She listened carefully to what my daughter was looking for, then came back with a ton of great options. While my daughter was trying on jeans, Teresa even pulled some sale items for me (bonus points!). I honestly expected to walk out with maybe one thing, but we left with quite a haul - and it was 100% worth it. Teresa also let me know about Madewell's free alterations for rewards members, which I had somehow missed even though I've shopped there for years. The entire staff had Teresa's same energy - welcoming, enthusiastic, and genuinely helpful. Between the personalized service, quality of the clothes, and how good my daughter felt walking out, the experience was more than worth the money we spent. We need more shopping experiences like Madewell @ Stanford - where people make you feel good, not just about how you look, but how you're treated.

Sal was incredible to work with he truly embodies what the brand stands for. He greeted every customer coming in and out with warmth and professionalism and made my first experience consigning items seamless and enjoyable. Consigning my pieces was smooth, informative, and stress-free. Sal took the time to explain everything clearly and made the entire process feel premium from start to finish. Thank you, Sal, for delivering such outstanding service. I also really appreciated the level of security. With security stationed at the front door managing entry and exit, I felt completely safe bringing in high-value items. If you're looking for a secure, professional place to sell or consign luxury pieces, I highly recommend this location. On top of that, they have an amazing selection unique items I haven't seen at other locations. This Palo Alto store is officially my home location, and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top tier customer service, security, and an elevated luxury experience. Thank you Sal and to the rest of the team! I then sat for several minutes waiting for assistance with a return, only to be spoken to in a dismissive manner once someone finally approached me. There were only two customers in the store at the time, so the lack of service was especially disappointing. Afterward, I followed up with my SA, who has always provided excellent service, and my concerns were escalated to management. Unfortunately, instead of taking accountability for how I was treated, Salvador responded with an email attempting to justify the behavior by implying the team was busy assisting others. That explanation simply did not reflect the reality of the situation. I responded respectfully, emphasizing that accountability matters and expressing hope that this could serve as a learning opportunity for the staff. I also clarified that my experience should not be attributed to high traffic when the store was clearly not busy. I never received a response. At this point, I question how thoroughly my complaint was actually reviewed. It feels easier for staff to claim they were occupied than to acknowledge poor customer service and address it honestly.

While I still like Cuyana products, the service in this location is disappointing. You're better off staying online if you can. The last time we were at the Stanford shopping center, we happened to see a sign outside Cuyana that said treats/drinks with Anton (Patisserie). So I excitedly thought why not drop in? We see a table at the back with several treats, and debate which ones to try. Just as I'm debating a second macaron to grab for my husband, the associate approaches us for the first time during our visit. She apparently was watching us from behind, visibly upset and worked up about how it's only ONE per person. Ok, chill, no need to speak like we're thieves or a nuisance -- especially because this is the first time you've bothered to interact with us at all during the visit without any acknowledgement or greeting upon us entering? Read the room. You obviously don't care about service but are worried about one too many treats for a couple of people just happy to be there and look around. Talk about being unwelcoming. What's the point of advertising treats when your customers don't even feel welcomed to enjoy them? And no we're not there "just for free stuff."
