My husband and I took Giselle's childbirth and postpartum class and it was everything we wanted and more. Having a child 10 years ago, I realized I did it all wrong and I was looking for someone to explain how to do birth and postpartum better and 6 hours with Giselle did just that. Even though I gave birth before, I learned so much from Giselle in a very positive, uplifting way. Thank you, Giselle! My husband and I very grateful and we look forward to implement everything we learned in practice in the weeks to come! read more

Giselle! Giselle! Giselle! Your Childbirth Education Series was EXACTLY what we were looking for and everything we needed. I highly recommend. I wish that I had taken your class during my first pregnancy. I feel confident, at ease, excited, and uplifted about our delivery and postpartum period after taking this class. It was an intimate environment with just one other birthing person and their partner. You made us feel so comfortable and at home in your living room, providing us easy access to restroom, snacks, beverages, instructions for parking. Your 10+ years of education and 15+ years of child rearing really shows through your ease of communication and very thorough answers to our questions. Your attitude and vibrancy really set the tone for us enjoying our learning. I really feel that when push comes to shove and we are doing the hard work of labor, our time spent learning here will smooth our difficulties with the pleasant memories, hands-on skills, and laughter. It is so different than trying to remember what was read in a book. I agree with your gentle & conscious parenting style, your natural & holistic approach to provider care, and your research-based education. I feel so lucky to have your wisdom guide us. My partner and I are both so happy that we got to have such an educational and enriching experience together to get us on the same page. Thank you for being you! read more

Giselle Baumet - Dad demonstration of the baby carrier. - Psychologists Near Me

My husband and I took the one day labor workshop and it was amazing. I highly recommend the course as it was very concise but informative, especially for my husband that had no real prior knowledge about the birth process. The hands on demonstrations for how my husband could assist with comfortable positioning during contractions and how to provide comfort was very helpful as well. All in all Giselle provided great information and provided greater piece of mind and preparation for us both. read more

My husband and I took Giselle's childbirth class and I am so glad that we did. It was a thorough, yet approachable, introduction to many topics including coping mechanisms during labor, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care. I appreciated that the class was offered in-person and during one weekend, which meant we could easily fit it into our schedules. I know feel much more confident on going through labor and becoming a parent. Thank you, Giselle! read more

Giselle and her services came highly recommended to my husband and I as we are expecting our first, and want to learn as much as we can about the birth and labor process. I immediately reached out to her via text to ask a few questions which she promptly and kindly replied. I then followed her on Instagram to research more about her and her beliefs to see if we would be a good match - what I found, is that she truly cares. She teaches from her education, heart and experience as a mother of multiples. What more could you ask for? We walked away from her labor skills workshop and CPR class (both virtual due to covid) feeling more confident and empowered in our capabilities as future new parents. Giselle's gentle spirit and guidance is greatly appreciated and needed for our journey to welcoming our little one who will be here any day now. We are incredibly thankful for her patience and all of the resources she provided. read more

This was an informative class but I think it's a little pricy compared to other options. Minus one star for that. Also, the instructor left halfway through the class. I understand that life has emergencies but I would expect some kind of refund or voucher for the future. Minus another star Also, we emailed a few followup questions but never heard back, so minus a star for that. The class was July 7th 2018 at 1pm -- newborn care, breastfeeding, & first time parenting. I'm not making this up. read more

Giselle's Birth Class is AMAZING!! I loved how it was condensed to a single day, and she was SO knowledgeable. The environment she create each is super inviting and relaxing. Our group got along well and enjoyed asking questions and talking as a group. She teaches awesome coping techniques for labor and walkS you through what to expect each step. I'd recommend this to anyone that is expecting. Both my husband and I felt it was money well spent and gave us a lot to practice and think about as far as birth plan Updating: I also took her 4th trimester mom group. It was SO enlightening and helpful. Giselle does a great job at making us all feel welcome and open to sharing. I plan on taking another class on secure attachments for our children. read more

I am so thankful to have found Giselle's birthing class! We chose the in person course which had just two couples. The intimate setting allowed for me and my partner to ask plenty of questions. Giselle gave us all the facts, providing information on home births, hospital births, natural births and medicated births. All this information was provided without judgement which was greatly appreciated as it allowed my partner and me to make the best choices for us. I delivered my baby at the hospital and felt very prepared and comfortable through thr experience as a direct result of this course. Thank you Giselle! read more

Don't sign up for the birthing class. I unfortunately did and paid a $277 deposit. I was hospitalized at 33 weeks due to pregnancy complications and wasn't able to attend because of this heartbreaking scenario. I let her know immediately that my husband and I were in the hospital and could not make the class. She stated there are no refunds under ANY circumstances not really the type of mentality I would want educating me or being around my baby. read more

I don't have kids. Why would I care about a place like Granola Babies? Well, my friends' daughter's second birthday is tomorrow and I need a gift. Also, I'll have to buy my nephews Xmas gifts. Fortunately, I met Giselle at a book release party last night. Her store has everything that my little sprog friends would want. Attention aunts and uncles: she offers free gift wrap and free shipping! This works whether it's for my friends in Costa Mesa or for my nephews in NJ. Granola Babies also has all kinds of essentials for moms like soothing teas, environmentally friendly diapers, slings, and other stuff that as a non-breeder I don't understand. Don't forget about the Yelp discount and Granola Dollars. Tell Giselle that Joe sent you! read more

While shopping for some furniture, I took a stroll through the mall and came across Granola. Being a new Grandmother, I am always on the lookout for cool things for my grandson. This boutique fulfills all my wishes. CUTE clothing for boys and girls. Awesome old fashioned hand crafted wood pull toys, and wonderful new and cool items, such as amber necklaces for teething and food mats. The staff is sweet and helpful. The quality of the items fabulous, and the prices fair. LOVE my new find. Of course I bought several items for my grandson and he loves all of it. He LOVES his new pull toy, hasn't quite figured out to use it while walking, but he plays with it everyday. This is a definite stop for me every time I am in this area from now on. read more

I don't even know where to start, this place has been such a essential part of who I am as a parent. I'm part of their facebook group and as a resource alone, it has been so helpful! This is more than a store, it's a gateway to a community of wonderful passionate mothers who seek friendship and education. I trust Giselle to stock goods that are appropriate, safe, innovative, and quality for my kids. This is the store that I found my amber beaded necklace for my son; my Beco Gemini that I was able to try on and get instead of the Soleil which I thought I was set on just thru research; my Chimparoo Trek which I am now obsessed with. Whenever I need a gift idea for friends and their kids, I go to Granola Babies because they reward loyalty. They remember you as a customer, and Giselle and her staff know exactly what safe age appropriate gifts to recommend, because they have kids themselves and know what works! I could go on, but it's late and I need to get back to my little ones. Needless to say, I highly recommend this small business and it's owner, Giselle. I try to come and support as much as my budget allows but please shop here 1st. The service is top notch and you won't find a more welcoming place for moms (so if you're not a mom, buy a class as a gift, the mom will thank you). read more

Great and informative instruction. Highly recommend taking your birth labor and newborn class with Giselle!

I took Giselle's one day labor and postpartum workshop this past Saturday. It was incredibly informative as this is my first child. My partner joined me and it really helped him wrap his mind around what is to come and how he can be supportive during the process. Overall, I would highly recommend her class to anyone expecting their first child. Or even if it's not your first child and you just want a smoother labor. read more

I've taken parenting classes at Granola Babies, and I still use what I learned 4 years later with our 2nd kiddo. However, this review is for Giselle and her sleep coaching. We enlisted Giselle after 6 months of very rough nights (more than just the average newborn nocturnal madness). We're in the process of our coaching with Giselle currently, and we greatly appreciate her communication - quick replies, good follow up, and devotion to our tough situation. When Giselle realized our kid was a bit of a special case, she went above and beyond to make sure we were still getting the help we needed. That's something the other "corporate" sleep sites won't give you (and I know - I tried them with my first son). We're thankful we met Giselle and the Granola Babies team. -With Thanks, Nicole Walter (and baby Max) read more

Giselle is a wonderful teacher! I took her Birth and Beyond class recently and she provided wonderful education about breast feeding in a baby-friendly environment. It made me so excited about patient education and about being able to promote bonding for mothers and their babies! Giselle did a great job and I feel more prepared going into OB nursing! Using the information I learned from her class helped me to land a job at my dream hospital on their OB floor! Could not have hoped for anything better! read more

Giselle was very knowledgeable in her Birth and Beyond class I took; she goes over all the different aspects of breastfeeding, the misconceptions, the cultural differences, health risks and benefits, and everything in between. She not only educates with passion, but enthusiasm and openness as well. Her insights were very much appreciated! read more

Absolute love for this place!! It is the place to go if you are interested in raising your baby in a healthy world: natural products, cloth diapers, baby carriers, organic toys, the list goes on and on. Giselle (the owner) has the patience of an angel. She helped me to try on various carriers. I am not very coordinated so--at times--this was quite the task! I opted to do the "rental" program and have been testing various ones to discover which carrier truly met our needs. I was also lucky enough to come on a Wed and join a Mommy & Me group. Granola Babies has a beautiful community of great moms and children. We live in Redondo Beach and will be making the trek weekly from now on to bond and grow with others. Cannot recommend this place enough---new moms, parents, grandparents, soon to be parents...check this place out!!! read more

Very nice store, although it's more like a community center for new granola Mom's than anything else. They have workshops and store events which cover a wide range of topics/activities from baby wearing, to cloth diapering, to home schooling, to attachment parenting, music classes, baby signing, baby/mommy yoga, etc. They also offer the ability to rent books and expensive equipment (i.e. baby slings/wraps) so you can try different items before you commit a load of dough. The owner of the store (Giselle) is very knowledgeable about the topics covered at the events/workshops - she is an advocate of many of them, and practices much of what she preaches at home with her kids. The products she sells pretty much go hand in hand with her parenting practices/experiences and therefore has firsthand knowledge of what is good and bad. She sells some really nice stuff and has some good practical advice...! Other miscellaneous opinions - 1. It is a great resource for new Mommies - you can find the best products, introduce yourself to new parenting concepts, and meet other Mom's which share your interests in regard to babies. 2. Some of the events are better than others - thumbs down on the Mommy and Baby yoga class (too crowded!), thumbs up on the baby wearing class! 3. Many of the events only whet your appetite on the topics, further in depth research on your own time is still required. 4. The owner holds a lot of the classes, which means her time is split between running the shop and teaching the class. Which means the classes aren't as comprehensive as you might expect. My only real negative comment is that the store is in a weird and scary mart in the middle of Costa Mesa - complete with liquor store. One time I parked in the front lot and there was this scary old drunk guy sitting on on the sidewalk. Not a super cool place to be walking around with your BB! If you ever visit, definitely park in the back! read more

It seems like no one has written a review since Granola Babies moved to its new location at South Coast Collection, so here goes... This review is long overdue. I've been shopping at Granola Babies for a little over 7 months now. I pretty much love everything this store has to offer: great products, fun events, and wonderful people. The owner, employees, and the customers this store attracts are all so warm and helpful. Many of the products at Granola Babies are unique and high quality. Translation: it can get expensive shopping there. So my first piece of advice is to visit their website and get added to their mailing list in order to find out about their sales. They also have a baby registry and I would definitely look into that. I really wish that I had found this store sooner because I would have registered here for one (or two or more) of every item in this store. Hands down, the best thing about Granola Babies is the owner, Giselle. She is warm, friendly, and genuine. She is probably the best resource in Orange County regarding baby wearing. My next tip is to visit this store when you have some time on your hands to browse. First of all, there are a lot of things in this store that you probably haven't seen in mainstream baby stores and would need some time to just look through everything. Secondly, I think a lot of first time moms or moms who are just discovering natural parenting shop at this store, which means that there are a lot of questions being asked. So just be prepared to wait your turn. I'm just sayin' cause it seems like a few yelpers were disappointed with their experience at Granola Babies and its hard for me to understand why. So if you are in the area, definitely take some time to stop by Granola Babies. It is such a great resource and probably the best baby store in Orange County. read more

We wandered into Granola Babies at the OC Mix, expecting to not buy anything because all baby shops are infintiely cute and expensive. Granola Babies is indeed cute with baby gear, clothes, and a GREAT selection of toys and books so it's a lot like a toy store too. We left with a Janod farm animal set that was priced about the same as on Amazon and enrolled in their birthday program so our kiddo can get a small gift on her birthday. read more

I really love this store. I attended their free, Breastfeeding Support Group last Wednesday, and was really impressed. There had to be at least 30 moms in the private room (proof that clearly I'm not the only one who loves Granola Babies), and I even met a mom who drives all the way from Brea, every week, just to attend. The teacher was fantastic; really knowledgeable and kind. I enjoyed meeting lots of other moms and it was a great 2nd outing, alone, with just me and my baby - a scary thing for first time moms. It was nice that I was able to feed her when she needed it and no one was bothered if your baby was fussy or needed to be changed. At baby's shower, she received a pack of Aden and Anais bamboo swaddling blankets, from GB, and I can tell you, they are her favorite blankets. In fact, she even came home from the birthing center in one. We highly recommend them. I look forward to attending more events and classes at GB; this Friday, we're doing the hand and footprint impressions ... I'll be sure to update this review on that experience. read more

This woman knows everything you could possibly know about your babies!!!!! Oh my goodness I remember when I had my baby girl Sophia (now 7 years old) and I had no idea what to do about being a mama!!! I then found Granola Babies and found such Comfort in that place. And I was just absolutely blown away about how it was being run. But then I found out the owner, Gisele, and she was absolutely fantastic, I couldn't have asked for a better teacher throughout this process of navigating with a new little baby bundle. She made me feel comfortable, she made me feel amazing, and she made me feel like I could conquer motherhood easily. I highly recommend this woman for taking care of your babies and helping you in the process of motherhood. Love her to pieces!!! 7 years later!!!! read more

This shop is in great location that suits both its products and clients. We've bought stainless steel water bottles, food carriers and cloth diapers here. The staff are very knowledgable, patient and friendly, even after the 100th question. The prices for these products may seem too high for many, but when considered on the scale of what it 'really' costs other companies to keep their items cheap enough for WalMart, it is a reasonable deal. Things sold here aren't made to break and replace. They can actually be handed down... So whether or not you care for or believe in the natural/crunchy mothering ethos. You can deny that this is a quality run business. read more

LOVE the Drop-In Art and Play for my 2 1/2 year old! It is one of the few places where I can bring her, and let her play freely as I sit and breastfeed my 5 month old. This place is a god send. And there are always other great parents to sit and chat with. When I was a brand new mom, this place was a LIFE SAVER with it's free Breastfeeding Support Group, New Mom Support Group, Baby Sign-language Class, Storytime, Mom n Me Yoga, Mommy Pampering Event, CPR Class, Baby-wearing class, Information sessions on Legal stuff, vaccinations, and natural body care. I made my best mom friends in Granola Babies classes and am so grateful. If you are a new mom, COME HERE! If you are buying a gift for a new mom, get her a gift certificate so that she has a reason to come into this amazing place of community and support. read more

My Wife and I took the birthing weekend intensive course from Giselle. For us both this was incredibly educational, she did an amazing job of walking through what to expect and really helped to make us feel like we were equipped for being active in the day of the birth and weeks following as new parents. It really reassured us that we would be able to really actively participate in the process and not be a bystander and at the sole mercy of others telling us what to do on the day of the birth. The information that she gave us has boosted both my own and my Wife's confidence. I had been hesitant as to what the day and or information would be like, Giselle made the whole class feel comfortable and she made the class feel more like a conversation about what was going to happen. This made asking questions incredibly easy and much more interactive. For other husbands the time flew by, I know with my hesitation I thought the class was going to feel like "class" and potentially awkward. With the way Giselle engages the couples and teaches, time flew by and I really enjoyed the course. As an added plus at the end of the class we had made friends with other couples at the course because of the environment that Giselle helped to create. read more

We came here to pick up a Boba baby carrier and the sales associate was above and beyond helpful. She explained to us all the options and helped us try them on, never was she pushing us to buy. Yelp, you've done it again. Thanks for steering me to the right place. We're in search of cloth diapering info/stuff/etc. Sure, I could go to big box baby and find someone that doesn't know anything, or I could check Yelp and the Yelp Gods could steer me to the right place. In comes Granola Babies. Granola Babies is in the SoCo Collection (where all the furniture places are on the 405 and Harbor). You'll find it next to the OC Mix Mart and Greenleaf Chop Shop. You will not be able to see it from the parking lot as it faces a courtyard area. Also to note, that they are open ONLY on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. So keep that in mind when you are out shopping. Anyway, I talked to Ashley who gave me the run-down on cloth diapers. I've read a book from the library, done internet research, and was so confused. Ashley took the time to explain it to me, tell me how it worked for her, answered my specific questions (how do you travel with cloth diapers on vacation, what do you do about ____, etc.) and she was all around an all star. More importantly, she told me about 2 different cloth diaper rental programs that they have. It's a way that you can try cloth and not have to feel "super committed" and see if they work for you. I will definitely be taking part in the rental/trial programs before we take the plunge into buying all these things that we don't understand. Besides cloth diapers, Granola babies is also known ? for selling baby carriers (think "natural Baby Bjorn") as they had a large selection of different types of those items. They have a few clothes and lots of high-quality European toys. Thanks Granola Babies. I'll come here again to purchase/rent cloth diapers and then to restock my supply as the service and knowledge that you gave me was priceless. read more

We love granola babies! From their awesome classes to the granola products we love it all. Natalia has the best mommy and me yoga classes - we attend every week and love that we're apart of little community of moms with the same age range of babies to bond over. I also had the pleasure of attending yoga while pregnant, again great and fun to be apart of a community. The staff is friendly and helpful-most of them are mom's themselves so they "get it". Our favs right now are their all natural toothpaste, toothbrush, and sippy cups. Their book & toy selection is adorable. they also carry local brands, rad items from brands such as rags, and these adorable trucker hats that are just so stinking cute. My son is able to play with some of the toys while we shop as well which is great for multi-tasking ;) The store itself is always so well-kept, sanitized, and organized which I appreciate having a young toddler. They also have a bday program which we took advantage of for the first time a few months ago. So cute to get a birthday postcard and receive a special treat for my little one. Thank you again Granola Babies!!! Overall, Giselle and her team are wonderful and we really love our experience every time we come in whether it be for a class or to shop!!! read more

Giselle is such a blessing and we are forever grateful for her help. I now consider Giselle a friend and mentor. She is so wise and knowledgeable about many areas in life from babies, children, parenting, mindfulness, & more!
