Outside of the pizza place

So I was told that this pizza place would knock your socks off. Me and my wife Got the stromboli which was pretty good but not life changing. Not the egg plant fries on the other hand were amazing. It was so good it didn't even taste like eggplant. The service was pretty decent but the food took forever . I love the look of the place but we only did take out. I'd definitely go back to try other stuff though

Special Stromboli

This place is awesome, the bruschetta pizza is one of the best things I have ever eaten. The old school decor adds to the experience and the service and server's are always awesome. The chicken sandwich is also huge and on a super fresh brioche bun. You can go wrong here but I would avails any non pasta dinners, including the chicken Parmesan.

Manicotti

We used to come here a lot and the service was always prompt and the food fast and tasty. Things are different. We came in at 6:20pm to a large sign that says "closed at 7:00pm tonight". "Seat yourself" and so the wait begins. "Oh you need menus". We ordered the Monday night manicotti special. We were told at 6:50 that there were a lot of take out orders. Clearly don't know how to serve both take out and in house. It's now 6:58 and guess what just showed up. You guessed it molten manicotti.

Stromboli

Had the Stromboli with everything. It had peppers, onions , ham, pepperoni, mozzarella. It came with a side of sauce, but it was not needed. Also tried the chicken parmigiana. Both items were good.

Giovanni's Pizza & restaurant is next door is owned by the husband of Mercatino's. Both places serve really good food! My bad experience there today was due to how LONG it takes to order, pay for, and get your food. WAY to long. Plus, everything is overpriced. They make you order from one of two kiosks. Kiosk ask some odd questions that force you to go to the counter to ask things like, what is pressed hot? By the time the lady had time to answer my question, my order was timed out and I had to start all over. Then my chicken cutlet ssandwich comes with broccoli rabe, but the kiosk suggested I add it and pay more for it. WHAT? The friendly lady came out from behind the counter to help me with the order. Then she asked for my email address and phone numberto complete the order. WHAT? She claimed I HAD TO input my phone number and email address to complete my order - WHAT??I We argued a minute and I said I just want to buy my sandwich which doesn't require giving out my email and phone numbeI. I finally completed my orderand asked at the counter what's next. The lady behind the counter says here's your reciept, you have to go up front to the cashier pay for it 1st. I said what the heck and she explained someone walked out, not paying so this is their procedure now. So, okay, I walked to the fron register, presented my nvoice and paid. So, again I ask what's next. The cashier hands me a paid for sticker and said go back to the counter in the rear to get your food. Okay, so I walked back to the rear counter to discover they hadn't started to assemble my sandwich yet. So, I milled aroiund with other confused looking customers waiting for their food. 20 minutes later I got my food and FINALLY left. The food is good but very expensive, the staff is friendly, but I'll never go thru that again. Their bakery is exceptional but they get it from La Dolce Vita Italian bakery in Wescoville, it's a great Italian bakery in Wescoville. Their bread comes from NY and itself is worth the trip there. The frozen section is exceptional as well. Just don't order a sandwich unless you have the day off or like me, are retired!

I am from the community in Roseto, PA where it's all Italians cooking at home, but this is the only Italian restaurant that I will come to. It's definitely worth a visit... why? First of all the Owner is always on foot checking with everybody. He is very kind. But tonight we had Leandra she was super friendly, We really loved her, so much we had to tell her that we could see that she really loved people and made us feel so special. She was very attentive. She even made a few special concessions for us and it's so nice to go to a place where we always have a great experience with a really well trained waitress. The atmosphere and the ambience is so relaxing. It has dim lights with cute little table lamps and it's cozy and it's warm not too warm but it's perfect. It's very inviting inside. It has a very large Foyer so don't be thrown off by that but once you get inside, it has a family feel So down to the good part guys, the food is amazing. We have never had anything slightly off or too cold... everything always comes out perfect.!!! We love bringing friends here to introduce it to them and they keep coming back as well so if you're looking for a new favorite spot, it's really amazing food. Please give it a try.

We very much enjoyed the food, though the Shrimp Scampi was overcooked (Shrimp pre-cooked and added to the Scampi while it was being heated?). The Whipped Ricotta app was out of this world! The service was quite quick and fantastic. They were so attentive to us and made sure everything was fine while also being super friendly. We got the Chicken parm and the seafood pasta. The chick parm was so delicious and the filling. The seafood pasta was loaded up with clams and mussels and the fettuccine was cooked al dente like I like. We also got oysters and calamari which was also delicious. The calamari has Brussel sprouts which were crispy. We will return in the future

They serve a delicious homemade bread that's warm when it's brought the table. In addition, it's accompanied by a dish of olive oil, with balsamic vinegar and what I believed to be a spicy dusting of pepper. It was a little too spicy for me - however, I did like the addition of the balsamic as a change from just olive oil. I would skip the pepper though, unless you like spice. We ordered the Polpette as an appetizer; it's a 'tradition' of mine. If meatballs are on the menu, I will always order them. These lamb, veal and beef meatballs were very good, and the marinara sauce they came in was excellent! The sauce is actually a 'roasted pomodoro' gravy - which is an 'intensified' version of a classic Italian sauce. It's made by roasting the tomatoes at a very high heat and almost caramelizing them. A little feta was added to the sauce, which really highlighted those meatballs!! We split the order - as 5 meatballs is quite a large appetizer! We decided to share two entrees - the Beef Short Ribs and the Lobster Ravioli. I always ask if the short ribs are lean - our server responded they were very lean...and they were. Soft, tender and very flavorful large chunks of beef, with a deliciously rich gravy with mushrooms on a bed a creamy garlic mashed potatoes! It was a superb dish! The website said the Short Ribs were the restaurant's most popular meal. Next, the Lobster Ravioli. The dish was a very 'delicate' one, with a very subtle brandy cream sauce. It had chopped jumbo shrimp and peeled cherry tomatoes with the raviolis. While the sauce tasted fine, it needed 'something' - we added pepper which helped. The raviolis were good - we couldn't taste lobster in the cheese of the raviolis - we assumed it was there. The chopped shrimps though provided a nice additional seafood flavor. I like my raviolis tender - the kind that almost melt in your mouth. The pasta here was firmer - a little more 'al dente', but it was fine. We ended our meal with the Chocolate Mousse. Served in a martini glass, the mousse had a velvety texture with a deep dark chocolate flavor. It was very rich yet light and fluffy; a good choice for dessert!
