We chose this spot for a family reunion, and they made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we walked in. The food was incredible. I had the Pork Chop Scarparo--perfectly cooked and full of amazing flavor. The pasta was spot‑on too and cooked just right. I had the garlic and oil side dish which was simple but delicious. There are plenty of great places in the area, but Antonios definitely deserves a spot on your list. It made our family gathering feel special, and the meal was unforgettable.

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ Fried Calamari - Very crispy and as you would expect of any good fried calamari appetizer. Came with a small bowl of marinara. + Baked Clams Oreganata - LOTS of flavor. It was savory with the herb- and garlic-infused breadcrumb mixture and baked perfectly. + Chicken Marsala - 2 pieces of flattened and tender sauteed chicken breast with sliced mushrooms all around. Chicken was drowning in a suppppper delicious marsala wine sauce. Unfortunately, it was not served with any pasta to soak up the sauce. + Fruitti Di Mare - LOTS of delicious seafood - clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp - in marinara sauce. All of the seafood sat on a bed of spaghetti. + Kids' Spaghetti and Meatball - Solid spaghetti and meatball and what you would expect for a kid portion. + Kids' Chicken Parm with Ziti - DELICIOUS parm and sauce. One can argue that this was actually enough of a portion for an adult! + Nutella Pizza - Soooooo gooood. Super warm, thin, savory, a little sweet. Honestly, the best part of our meal. + Menu was traditional Italian and had a lotttttt of delicious foods that we wanted to try, but we only had so much space. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Food came out pretty quickly. - Waiters didn't give us much attention and when we were handed the bill, the waiter just kind of dropped it on the table and walked on, which was strange. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + 2 adjacent dining rooms. Main dining room includes a bar and TVs, while the 2nd dining room is more spacious. = Entire bar area was filled with diners and folks watching college football. - Street parking only and can be challenging to find a good spot during weekend dinner hours. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Walked in with a party of 8 at 5:30 PM on an Autumn Saturday evening and were accommodated with a table immediately. = Was pretty crowded on a Saturday evening and there was a wait for some folks who arrived around 6-7 PM, but no wait before 6 PM.

It turned out to be one of the best recommendations we've received. My mom, my daughter, and I absolutely loved our experience. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, but the staff welcomed us with a smile and never made us feel rushed. Instead, they took the time to recommend some of their favorite dishes, and every suggestion was delicious. What made the evening even more special was how kind and attentive they were to my daughter. Their hospitality was exceptional and made us feel truly welcome. If you're visiting Arthur Avenue and looking for authentic Italian cuisine with outstanding service, Zero Otto Nove is a restaurant I highly recommend. Everything tasted fresh and well made. The warm bread was soft, fresh, and nicely herby with what tasted like oregano sprinkled on top. Portions were satisfying, flavors were rich without feeling too heavy, and the quality really stood out. We ordered sparkling water and a couple of cocktails. For appetizers we had the Polpettine Di Casa (homemade beef meatballs in pomodoro sauce) and the Portuguese octopus with fava beans, cannellini beans, onions, and apple vinegar dressing. Both were flavorful and well prepared. For entrées we ordered the Pappardelle alla Bolognese with homemade pasta and meat sauce, along with the New Zealand lamb chops over broccoli rabe and mashed potatoes. The pasta tasted fresh and authentic, and the lamb was tender and cooked as requested. Unfortunately, the night ended on a disappointing note because of the service. Mario was pleasant, but another server, I believe named Alex, overheard a conversation and became argumentative and sarcastic toward the birthday woman's son. It felt very unprofessional for the setting and completely changed the mood of the dinner, causing everyone to leave earlier than planned. The 93yr old woman was shaking. People should stay in their lane. Sadly, because of that interaction, I wouldn't return.

Tiny's Pizza-N-Pasta

When it came to a friend's house party in the Bronx (#1), we were spread a tad thin. Minus some…read morenacho dip and enough booze to start a liquor store, there was no food in sight. Enter in local pizzeria Tiny's, who after a quick phone call, delivered a slew of pies to save the night. Despite the slightly misleading name, Tiny's delivered for us in a big way. These large, gourmet style pizzas were around 12 slices each, putting them in a pseudo monster pizza like status. Each slice was a tasty, consisting of a lovely sesame thin crust, along with a zesty sauce to booty. Tangy yet savory, this was the kind of pizza many local New Yorkers would approve of while folding each slice through a flimsy half. The warm slices of the plain pie was the perfect treat to a long night only an alcoholic would appreciate. Next up was the meat lovers pie, which for all accounts and purposes, was so hearty that it would only a little more than one slice to fill up. A swig of something fierce, along with a bite of Tiny's was the common practice for the rest of the night. Hours later when the hangover headaches began and visions of being mugged in the city's most sketchy borough, non-Bronx guests started munching away for part II of the pizza binge. For some folks, the true mark of a quality pizza is how it tastes when it's at room temperature or cold. These babies passed the test and made for even better cold pizza, or as we say amongst the stoner crowd, "breakfast." In the end, I think Tiny's is a quality local pizza joint. There are lots of stalemate pizzas throughout the boroughs that operate primarily as a take out joint, which are all consistently mediocre. Tiny's on the other hand, gets my thumbs up for one upping the echelon with remarkable quality with reasonable prices. _____________ (#1) Yes, you read that right.
