I haven't eaten here in about a year and I'm glad I haven't. The only two positives about this delivery was that the food was hot and the woman that answered the phone was very sweet. Other than that the food was tasteless, as I was shocked. I ordered the penne ala vodka with grilled chicken. They charged me about 25 dollars, which was fine, but for the food to be not that good I was shocked. Normally their penne ala vodka is saucier and tastier. I was so disappointed that I wasted my money on this. I even had it the next day to see if it would be better. I heated it up in the oven so it would taste the same and still not good at all. I will never order from here again, and it's extremely disappointing as they must have a different cook now. Even the chicken had no taste at all and it was rubbery even when I first got the order. I also ordered garlic knots and they even tasted like they were a few days old. They have been open for many years and the family that owns this pizzeria also owns the diner that's open 24 hours across the street called the gold mine. I must say the gold mine is still very good, but the pizzeria definitely needs new cooks. read more

This pizza shop has been around since I moved in this area years ago. That says a lot because so many businesses have came and went. So for it still to be around it has to be doing something right. That right would be good customer service and just average pizza. I mean the food is not bad , but it's also not the best. I happened to come today just for a beef patty with cheese. That to was ok. No never, ever will I order from here again. I decided to try something different as I've never had Broadway Pizza before. The GrubHub app stated 75 minutes which hey for a Friday isn't bad. The food got here in less than an hour which was looking promising. The order was correct but upon finishing the two slices and wrap my throat began to hurt and I started to burn up. I couldn't sleep and the next day the bed and bathroom were the only two places I could go. I threw up the food and went to urgent Care to be told I had the flu. Before eating the food I was fine. Either someone there was sick OR someone didn't wash their hands. I will never order from here again. I missed four days of work and spent $75 between urgent care and the medicines. OK, it's official -- can't order from here. My kid likes the wings, so despite having some crappy delivery service from them, I kept at it. Cold food arriving way late, 97% of the time. Maybe they are good in house, but delivery service is just straight up bad. And as there are a lot of choices -- and my kid has gone vegetarian! -- I'm done with this place. I have to say this an establishment I hate to patronize. I want to say in the course of 1 year, I've been to this establishment once. If my son wasn't so hungry, and I didn't have heavy bags, I would've walked to the other pizza shop. And every time I come here I state that I'll never come back, because of the horrible service . The food is good, it's the staff who are beyond unprofessional, obnoxious and rude; with the exception of the person making the pizza. He was the only one who presented with a courteous disposition. I patiently waited while the woman at the front and the delivery man had their little "back and forth" conversation about late deliveries. The woman had an attitude while she took my money and was rude when giving me the change. Additionally, she made no eye contact and did not thank me. What happened between the people who ordered food for delivery and the delivery man had nothing to do with me for that woman to be so rude.Additionally, that conversation should not have happened with a patron in the store. Road to 2016 #1 This coming from the Bronx in the Kingsbridge area, when i think of a family owned pizza shop,I think of this place! this is my neighborhood pizza shop I always get pizza from so to pay my respect to this place I thought of placing this review showcasing how good this family owned shop is! "Pizza... want more pizza" they have an assortment of pizza and you can basically have any topping you desire(just ask and they will exceed your expectations!) pricing is very reasonable, for a plain slice of pizza it is about 1.75 and if you like extra cheese (my suggestion for those who have those munchies in) its about 2.75 and man the pizza comes out nice and fresh from the oven and you see the cheese ooze out with greatness on your plate. you know its a good pizza when the oil is trying to escape the plate. "the people" depending on the time you take this trip to this pizza shop will determine your experience here, reason being some of the employees could have attitudes so bring a space of headphones and your phone so you can tone them out. sometimes the Bronx way can be a bit rough. overall this is a wonderful spot for pizza with lost of family history and the history is shown in the way they make their pizza. read more

Soggy slices and sour, slimy mushrooms, my pizza was falling apart no matter how carefully I tried picking it up. Those "garlic knots" were literally dinner rolls with dried parmesan on top. Despite being difficult to eat, the taste wasn't completely inedible. However, customer service here is a wreck. Despite physically coming in here to order my food, they completely forgot to call my order when it was done. So what should have been a 15 minute wait turned into a 40 minute wait after we finally came up to ask about it. My bad for being patient, I guess. Other than it's generous late-night convenience, there's no real reason to come to this pizza joint. 3 stars! Not four or five as I used to feel about this place. 3 reasons: My delivery took FOREVER to get here. (An hour an a half opposed to the usual 45 mins tops.) Ordered for delivery in Dyckman, and delivery man was pretty rude. While receiving the order, he complained that it is very far and even questioned if anyone had delivered here. Mind you, I've delivered countless times from this place with no problem. Phone girl was a sweetheart (as usual) but unfortunately RAPED me for a chicken-less Caesar salad; $12 for a handful of lettuce with stale croutons and carrot shavings. WHAT! Fettuccine chicken Alfredo was extremely oily, pasta was overcooked and slimy. Seriously Broadway Pizza, the food used to be way better. I don't know what happened man.... This place would get five stars, if only the seating was improved. There's only a few tables, mostly serving about four people each. Therefore, if there's a single diner, that's pretty much one whole table gone. You'll probably find the tables taken. But other than that, the pizza is delicious. I'm very picky about pizza. Some crusts can be too crunchy and painful. However, this pizza is just the right texture to where I'm not left in pain after. The ingredients are fresh and tasty, too. In addition, the service is great. You can tell it's a neighborhood place. There's a lot of families, and a lot of the workers know the customers well. It's pretty cheap, and the slices are HUGE! What the hell?? Went there not too long ago to get a slice and I had to take out a second mortgage. If I was on a date and he paid I know that I would have been obligated to give him the goodness, that's how expensive it was. now I'm expecting some damn good pizza for a the money I paid but lo and behold it was garbage. The Garlic Knots are what I give 4 stars. They are so yummy and delicious, so fluffy and moist that you can not help it but order a few with you home. The Pizza is not bad either. It is a simple New York style pizza with a thin crust and a lot of grease from the cheese. It is good but not great, so what gives it 4 stars is their service, and their garlic knots. The garlic knots are just so yummy that I simply have to mention them again, The staff is very friendly and your order are quick. Even though there is not table service they are always good at coming by and making sure we have what we need. Just a great, friendly place. I ordered from this place with some consistency from 2007 - 2012. I see several other reviews which indicate that this place can be hit or miss. Perhaps I was lucky enough to have almost all hits. If you're going to have pizza from this place, drop in. The pizza is fresh, hot, and ready to go in a hurry. There's usually a crowd so nothing hangs out for very long. I've had regular, sicilian, white, and buffalo chicken slices and they're all good. For delivery, they're more miss than hit. I'd advise against it altogether. If you're dead set on it, make sure you order at least an hour ahead and get your toaster oven ready to crisp up those soggy slices. read more

I was going to give it 5 stars, but then I remembered how horrible it can be after 2:30. When all the kids come out of school, it's a total mess. Some people are taking chairs from other tables so it will leave you with one chair at a table. I usually HAVE take the food to go. The food is delicious. Just wish it would expand. So I just moved back to NY from PA, and I'm looking for a new pizza place to makeup for the lackluster slices I have been subjected to over the last few years. I'm used to Morris Park and Throgs Neck (most of my youth was spent out there), but I'm living in the Riverdale-Kingsbridge area so I need something local. I'm not expecting something to live up to the food in the Italian neighborhood I used to live in, but something close and decent works. My grandmother who has been living around here forever suggested Broadway Pizza & Pasta. Sure there are other places closer to her, but she can't stand them (and I don't blame her). However, this place isn't much better. Granted we have a difference of opinion when it comes to thin crust, she digs it, but this is about more than the crust. Consistent? I think not. First time it tasted like a typical thin crust place (I am not a fan of thin crust). The second time it was far from thin, but I was still not crazy about it. How do you rate a slice that tastes different with every bite? Completely tasteless for the first few bites, then cheesy goodness for a few seconds, until you reach the dried out dough zone halfway through it. What is going on here? I could have been to 3 or 4 different pizza places and not gotten this much variety in a plain slice. I suppose they have saved me a few trips. However I am far from grateful. It's bigger than some other neighborhood shops, but not by much. I suppose eventually I'll have to update this for the pasta in "Broadway Pizza & Pasta". There were people on tables to either side of me saying it was pretty good... I'm guessing they meant good for a little pizza place. read more

So I'm visiting my 75 year old mother, who had just spent her entire day at the Dr. When we got home, she wanted to order food. I call B-Way pizza and order two beef patties with cheese, one chicken parm & one shrimp parm. The delivery guy is late but nice. I tip him, he goes about his way, no problem. So my mom ate her meal 1st, as I wanted to eat my patty and then go for my shrimp parm later. When I open my food....it's chicken, not shrimp! I'm a little salty because it took so long, and I'm not a fan of the chicken. I call them up and they start with the B.S right away. Although the girl that answered the phone was nice, she was still over questioning me. I tried to tell her to look at the receipt and the initial order. She preceeded to go back and forth, then my mom took the phone and asked to speak to the manager. I can hear this rude prick-hole questioning my 75 year old, sick mom about the time we ordred, why were we just calling now, etc, etc. I decide that I just want the money for the one meal since she already ate her's. They start talking about store credit, and I say enough is enough and go down there. This idiot owner takes the bag from me, goes in the back ( To make sure I'm not scamming him ), then comes out briskly and says, "I'm gonna give you the 15 bucks, but my guy says there was a shrimp parm in there" and he gives me a look. I try to reason with him and explain the situation, he continues to be a dick and pretend like he's annoyed with me, and also like somehow we were scamming him! At this point I thought of smacking him, but decided to take my business elsewhere instead. Now two things real quick lol. one, I usually eat at Aturo's on 225th, I thought that's where she was ordering from. I promise you, that place has the biggest and best slices in the Bronx. Not only that but they are super cool and always ask about my mom. Trust me, go to Aturo's instead of Bway pizza. The decor may not be the newest but the pizza is 100% worth it.......Trust! Lastly. When I got home, I had the $hits from the Beef patty I ate from B-Way Pizza. I know this because it was all I ate for the entire day. Which brings me to the last point....seriously. Like I said, I really wanted to smack the owner because he was being an asshole and accusing me of doing something wrong when it was entirely his fault. He made me walk all the way down there, when he could have fixed the situation from his end. if I Had I hit him, I would have wound up in a jail cell with the Shits. So, moral of the story kids. Be an adult, and just go where you're treated right! All true, nothing personal! read more
