We were here on a rainy weeknight. We picked it because it was conveniently near the AT&T where we spent three hours getting phones, and we were very hungry! There were only two or three other tables of diners, and we only saw one carry-out customer. We were immediately greeted by a server (Carlos) who is both attentive and has a sense of humor. We ordered pizza a decline apps and salads, but he wisely left the menu on the table. We later reconsidered and got the Greek salad to tide us over. It was excellent! It had heirloom tomatoes, lovely triangles of feta, olives, red onions and other veggies. The three of us split the salad, and Carlos provided side plates for each of us. One thing that most impressed me that night was the respect the staff members had for each other and they ways they invisible worked together as a super team. When one needed hep the others seemed to know and magically appeared to assist - without even asking or talking. The deep dish cheese pizza was well-cooked and flavorful, although in some bites the crust had an off flavor like an ingredient hadn't gotten blended in well - a slightly chemical taste like baking soda or a dough conditioner perhaps. When we had eaten our fill of the pizza, Carlos offered two containers for leftovers, so my daughter could take some to her place, too. Again, the thoughtfulness was impressive and sincere. We have only been here two or three times in the past five years. It just has never been top of mind even though we live nearby. But I am pushing now to return more often. It was a very enjoyable evening, and I am looking forward to the food and service again soon. read more

I've been going to Giordano's since the early 80's in Chicago on Irving Park. While I don't expect the pizza to taste the same today, I do expect the quality to be there. Now I know that the original founders went bankrupt and sold the majority stake to private equity firms who try to squeeze every last nickel out of overhead cost before the sell it off to another buyer but the pizza no longer resembles the Giordano's of old. The sauce is what makes this pizza and you can see from my pictures of what they show on the menu versus reality is quite different, pretty much non existent. Without enough sauce taste like cheesy bread sticks from little cesars. Also please clean the menus which all had dried crusty food stuck to them and how about cleaning the revolving door with windex? Shouldn't be that difficult to keep a restaurant of this size clean. read more

My husband seems to love their stuffed pizza. I think it's too much dough and sauce. Plus, it takes forever to cook, so call ahead.

Pros: pizza sauce had an excellent flavor, vegetables were fresh, dining area and bathroom were clean. Cons: poor service, overall pizza taste was bland, poor selection of beer and wine. A little pricey, but you also get a lot of food, so it balances out. read more

HORRIBLE service. Was seated at 2:45. Saw waiter wall past multiple times but wasn't even talked to until 3:10. Another waitress tried taking appetizer plate away before we were even done with it read more

TERRIBLE,TERRIBLE delivery , I ordered $50 + worth of food and was told 1 hour 15 min delivery time (already excessive), and my food showed up at 1 hour and 50 minutes, cold fries (a waste , I threw them right in the garbage) cold pizza , cold beef sandwich. Not impressed,I will NEVER order from there again and I will tell everyone I know had bad my experience was. I wish there was a lower rating than 1 star , Very ,Very bad. read more

I've been there a few times, but tonight i had the spinach ravioli and it was simply amazing. i would most defiantly recommend this to anyone in the gurnee area. it is an amazing place, and they do deliver :-D read more

Friday night I ordered 2 pizzas and after 3hours and multiple phone calls I gave up but they gave me a credit. So Saturday night we tried again after over 2 hours and multiple phone calls (I was but on hold forever by indearie) I gave up and went to hungry head ( love them). After over 2 and a half hours the pizzas showed up. Not worth it. Good luck getting your pizza within 3 hours read more

Best place in gurnee to eat carlos was a great server!!! Food came out fast and was deliscious cant wait to return!!!!

What can I say, I just didnt like it. It looked super delicious and I was so excited to try my pie, but for me, the taste was abysmal in comparison to its looks. Maybe it was the toppings we ordered, but it just was not doing anything for my taste buds. Sorry Giordano's. Maybe next time! read more

Never had a bad experience. This is a definite must visit when I visit Illinois. Always get the stuffed crust pizza and always regret leaving Illinois after the first bite. read more

We walked in 30 minutes before closing, and the host told us that they had stopped seating 30 minutes before that. We were looking for a true Chicago deep-dish pizza and had searched on the Internet for this, having come all the way from the East Coast. Why don't they post on their website that they stop seating an hour before closing, or why don't they post a notice on the front door? Further, and to be blunt, the host's attitude in being "unable" to recommend another pizza place nearby was off-putting ... especially considering that he presumably knows the area. Let's see whether this attitude persists if/when COVID rears its ugly head again and this place wants customers to support them as a local business. We ate at a competitor's restaurant within a half mile of Giordano's - which the host presumably didn't know about. Better attitudes and possibly better pizza. Guess where we'll be going for Chicago pizza when we're in this area again? Not Giordano's, that's for darn sure. read more

Like some of the others said, the wait for the food was a little long but the food is great. Service was ok. It was really drafty inside though. I don't know why it wasn't very heated. read more

Food was good. Took way too long for the drink order to be taken considering it was a light crowd. The service was so slow they'd have to speed up to stop. read more

Went in at 9:25pm on a Wednesday with some family from Greece and were told by the host that they stop talking tables close to 9:20 to 9:30pm even though the hours of operation stated til 10pm. There was another group that came in and were told the same thing. I told them they should have that posted and he appologized and said it was their unwritten rules. Luckily the host directed us to a Pizzeria UNO down the street. The other group followed us to Pizzeria UNO as well. read more

I was expecting to have the best deep dish pizza because my friend said it was better than Lou Malnati's... but to be honest, I was bummed out. I've had both deep dish pizza's & I would say there was nothing special about Giordano's. I felt it tasted just like a regular slice of pizza with soooo much cheese. Now I would say my thoughts could be better if our pizza wasn't warm/cold once we got it. My friend & I noticed other tables & their pizza's coming out & the cheese was just melted... but when the waitress tried to serve our pizza, the cheese was already cold that someone had to cut it. My friend & I do believe the pizza was sitting for a while until someone had noticed it hadn't been delivered to our table yet. We also ordered the sampler for appetizer, & the tator tots/mashed potatoes in one was BOMB! As for service, our waitress was really sweet. The location is great as well because it's located across from Gurnee Mall, so you can eat & shop right after! read more

We were sat at the table and didnt get our order in till 30 minutes after we sat down. Multiple families sat down and left while we werent being served. Not only that but once we got our order in which was two medium pizzas, we didnt recieve the meal until an hour and a half. This was my first time there and i will never go there again. Little Ceasers all the way! read more

Stopped in for lunch while visiting Chicago for my daughters graduation from Navy boot camp. Food and service was excellent. We ordered two orders of their wings, one traditional and one BBQ. Wings were fresh and tasted excellent. We ordered two pizzas, 1 bbq chicken and 1 build your own. Pizzas came out and fresh, so you have to be patient. Ours took right around 35 minutes to come out and they do warn you that it does take time. Pizza was by far the best pizza we have ever eaten. If your in the area, you have to given them a try. read more

Good food and service was good from everyone but the hostess who thinks it's her job to flirt with the male host instead of helping customers. Overall a decent meal read more

The pizza was good, very filling. The service was okay; she checked in every now and then, but wasn't in the way. She did seem like she was trying to hustle the patrons out of the restaurant though. Next time I would get the pizza to go. read more

We were in town for my daughter's Navy Graduation. Came in on a Thursday evening after dinner hours. Got seated right away and server asked us what we wanted to drink. We also had an idea of what we wanted to order knowing from previous reviews that the pizza took 45 minutes. Ordered a variety of appetizers as well, and the were delish! The service was excellent and the pizza was amazing! It's not something I would eat on a regular basis but was a must do while in Chicago! Definitely would recommend. read more

This has got to be the coolest little place in the city. Such interesting decor and a warm atmosphere. It took a while to get seated which made sense since we were a party of six on a Saturday. The dining room is very small with limited space. I walked up to the bar to get a drink and no one paid attention to me. Once we sat down we waiting a while to be greeted and the waters and drinks we ordered took a very long time to arrive. The food was incredible and made up for the less than desirable service. Take out from here is okay as well. Again, service is subpar but the food is excellent. read more

This was my first time coming to Illinois and I wanted to see what all the hype is regarding the pizza so I got a recommendation for here and decided to try with my wife. I must say that Wisconsin mozzarella cheese is great, the pizza was OK, prices were higher then Round Table Pizza a 11" (small) pepperoni pizza ran me like 23$ -__-. But the customer service was horrible literally took an hour for our food and staff kept forgetting about me and my wife order. read more

Please Never order from here. 2nd time we tried this place and the pizza dough was raw and so was the sausage. The manager on duty was less than helpful. We ordered the pizza at 420 for pick up.
