We had a great visit here. My kids have been here before, but some of us have not. There was a group of 6 of us. We ordered the Churro Iced Latte and waters to start. Followed by the meals as follows: Chicken & Waffles with bacon on the side and hashbrowns, Carnita Skillet with pancakes, Southern Biscuits and Gravy with hashbrowns and extra gravy ($5 WOW), Full Order Banana Hazelnut French Toast (strawberry instead of banana), Steak Chilaquiles with English Muffin, Chicken and Waffle with hashbrowns and cheese and last an order of hashbrowns with cheese on top to-go. We got the hashbrowns, no cheese ($7), and by the time we were told he was already in the car leaving. No remake, no refund. Our server, Ana G, was nice and attentive. The food was served relatively quickly, and it was hot. Delicious. We were celebrating one of our kids' birthdays, and the company was nice. They gave a dish of ice cream for the birthday as well. While I was visiting home, I wanted to catch up with my best friends over brunch, so we decided on Riverside Cafe. Since we met on a Sunday at 11 AM, there was about a 25-30 minute wait, but we didn't mind waiting. Once we were seated, our server gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. We spent the first 15 minutes just catching up since it had been a while but thankfully, our server was incredibly patient with us. I ended up ordering the Denver Skillet along with some French Toast. The ingredients tasted fresh and the skillet was flavorful, especially after I added some hot sauce lol. The French Toast was just as good. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a cozy, small-town cafe vibe. Riverside Cafe is a great breakfast/brunch spot, and the next time I'm in town, I'll definitely be back. read more

We had our annual sibling holiday breakfast here this past weekend. They were able to accommodate our large group (we had called ahead). It looks like they expanded their space since the last time we were here. Our server Anna was great. She was on her game with our big group. I was pleasantly surprised that my order for black coffee came with my own carafe so I don't have to wait for a refill! Everyone seemed to enjoy their breakfast. I had the Carnitas Skillet. It was yummy - but a very hearty serving. I couldn't finish it all. The ambiance was bright and lively. It's a very family friendly place. I also appreciated the diversity of the crowd. This was a really nice breakfast restaurant. There was plenty of parking , it is locates in a strip mall. We went on mother's day. We got in a bit early and had no trouble sitting down right away. The wait staff were very professional. We ordered a variety of breakfast dishes and all were delicious. The prices seemed very reasonable and there were large portion sizes. We also ordered coffee, americano and some children drinks. The drinks were made well and the presentation was pretty cool as well. All in all a really nice place to eat. I was looking for a Brunch/Lunch spot in Gurnee, read their reviews and decided to give it a try. It was busy since it a Holiday Week but luckily they were able to seat my party of 5 right away. We were seated by the window and could see the Six Flags coasters across the parking lot. I ordered the Green Chilaquiles with Steak off their Holiday menu. Chilaquiles can be hit or miss depending where you go, but these tasted fantastic! It comes with a side too and I chose the Pancakes, it was a lot of food so I ended it up taking most of it home. "I ordered my steak medium-well, but it came out raw. Stop giving these people five stars when you know the food isn't good. My diced potatoes were burnt to a crisp. You're funny, and I love my kids. We weren't disruptive at all, so stop being full of yourself and trying to look good. We sat quietly for 1.5 hrs waiting on our food.. So don't bring my kids into this because that never happened. I dined at this quaint cafe on Saturday August 3rd. It was extremely busy around 10 AM and the line was out the door. My friend, who lives in Gurnee took me for breakfast. We were told that our wait would be 1/2 an hour, we were seated within 15 minutes since 3 tables all exited around the same time. We were seated in a booth. It was comfortable, however noisy since there was a bus tub station located directly behind our booth. The menu had a variety of options. The restaurant was nicely staffed. Our waitress knew the menu well and was able to offer suggestions and answer questions. I mentioned to her that the music was loud and not typical background music that you would hear in a breakfast restaurant. It was more upbeat, like energetic bar music. This was a turnoff to me and not relaxing. I go to breakfast to catch up with my friends and enjoy a great meal. The noise level in here was crazy loud, with the music blaring, and a toddler screaming in the background. If I were in the area again I would get my food to go, or eat outside. The noise level gave me anxiety and my breakfast wasn't relaxing. The food was very good, and reasonably priced. I had the BLT, Avocado eggs Benedict. This was a nice change to a boring Eggs Benedict meal. It had the hollandaise sauce which complimented the meal beautifully. My eggs were hard boiled, not poached. The eggs are usually a little runny. This was fine since I had the Bacon, tomato, and instead of lettuce it had a nice spring mix, topped with the hollandaise. I had a side of roasted vegetables. My favorite part about the meal was trying the Iced Chai tea with oat milk. This was per the waitresses suggestion and she was spot on. Now I have a favorite iced beverage. read more
