We had a large soccer team of parents and kids, 24 in total. Ana was our server and she was fabulous! She was patient, provided each family with their own check, looked in on us repeatedly and was just overall a great server! The food was also fantastic. "I ordered my steak medium-well, but it came out raw. Stop giving these people five stars when you know the food isn't good. My diced potatoes were burnt to a crisp. You're funny, and I love my kids. We weren't disruptive at all, so stop being full of yourself and trying to look good. We sat quietly for 1.5 hrs waiting on our food.. So don't bring my kids into this because that never happened. I didn't even want to say anything my kids are the ones that brought it up to the waitress.. We weren't planning on returning anyway. I believe people should know that the food is horrible." I dined at this quaint cafe on Saturday August 3rd. It was extremely busy around 10 AM and the line was out the door. My friend, who lives in Gurnee took me for breakfast. We were told that our wait would be 1/2 an hour, we were seated within 15 minutes since 3 tables all exited around the same time. We were seated in a booth. It was comfortable, however noisy since there was a bus tub station located directly behind our booth. The menu had a variety of options. The restaurant was nicely staffed. Our waitress knew the menu well and was able to offer suggestions and answer questions. I mentioned to her that the music was loud and not typical background music that you would hear in a breakfast restaurant. It was more upbeat, like energetic bar music. This was a turnoff to me and not relaxing. I go to breakfast to catch up with my friends and enjoy a great meal. The noise level in here was crazy loud, with the music blaring, and a toddler screaming in the background. If I were in the area again I would get my food to go, or eat outside. The noise level gave me anxiety and my breakfast wasn't relaxing. The food was very good, and reasonably priced. I had the BLT, Avocado eggs Benedict. This was a nice change to a boring Eggs Benedict meal. It had the hollandaise sauce which complimented the meal beautifully. My eggs were hard boiled, not poached. The eggs are usually a little runny. This was fine since I had the Bacon, tomato, and instead of lettuce it had a nice spring mix, topped with the hollandaise. I had a side of roasted vegetables. My favorite part about the meal was trying the Iced Chai tea with oat milk. This was per the waitresses suggestion and she was spot on. Now I have a favorite iced beverage. read more

Parking is great. When we walked in we were IMMEDIATELY greeted and seated quickly by a friendly host. Our server was really friendly and attentive. Our orders came out fresh, and the food was delicious NOT greasy and very filling. The restaurant is clean and so is the bathroom which is a good thing because you know they have care in not only making good food but making sure the entire place is clean and presentable. We ate it before we could take pictures. The presentation was alluring. The Barbacoa Benedict was absolutely fantastic. Son the whole biscuits and gravy & all the hash-browns (normally not his things), & the youngest ordered from the kids menu and was so excited that she got to "dress up" her pancakes with fresh fruit! I live in Frankfurt Illinois but I had a measure a KinderCare in Gurnee Illinois for repair of Flooring so I drove out to Gurnee got there at 12 measured the rooms I had to measure and got in the car. It was now quarter to one and I was hungry, so I stopped at this place which I found on Yelp, which is not a chain. I don't like chain restaurants and I ordered some eggs and some fruit and some coffee for a quick lunch. Everything was delicious. Had good music playing, loud enough but not obnoxious, can still hear everything/ everyone. It's nice when you have loud kids though. You don't feel like you're disrupting the environment AS much. I appreciated how easy it was to get a seat here--just a quick 5 minute wait, and the hostess even gave us a menu to look at. The staff are quite welcoming and kind. We ordered 1 dish to share. However, the service was very slow even though it was not super crowded by the time we ordered. My coffee was a little on the sweet side so I definitely could have told them to lower the sugar. Please do not waste your time or money. We came in for brunch, my son ordered a bacon cheeseburger plain. It came with everything on it, he asked to have it returned. The food is where I struggle a bit. It was good, but for the price point, I expected just a bit more. Between a single slice of bacon for my wife's meal (it was, in fact, good thick-cut bacon), less than crispy hash browns on all three dishes, and undercooked eggs for my eggs Benedict, I was just hoping for a bit higher quality. The coffee, however, was very good. I recently posted that a man at Riverside Cafe ordered me to give him back two napkins that I took off a back table where he was sorting them. I had a greasy breakfast and wanted extra napkins but he argued two on my table was enough. I posted a review, which prompted a reply from Paola, who said the man was another customer! No customer would be sorting the restaurant's paper goods or demanding customers use only one or two napkins. read more
