The customer service at this location is horrible. I ordered 2 weekends in a row. Both were orders over $100. The first time I called to place the order the day prior and the internet site was not working for ordering online. When I called they told me , they were too busy to take my order and I needed to call back. My mistake was going to them instead of calling Rosatis. The next weekend I placed another large order. When it was delivered, all the pizzas were incorrect. I had a house full of 20 people so I wasn't going to call at that time. They did reimburse me for that order but once again the people I spoke to there MINUS Nick were AWFUL And should not deal in customer service. I'll be ordering from somewhere else ALL the time which is a shame because I love Giordanos pizza. read more

It is with a heavy heart that I give this rating, for to me, it symbolizes the death of a long-standing love affair even while giving 4 stars to the establishment (and food) as a whole. I never thought the day would come. I never thought these words would ever issue from my lips (or fingertips, as in the case of this online review). Lou Malnati's is no longer my favorite deep-dish pizza. Gasp. Sob. Sigh. Giordano's is. Given my 2-star experience at the Lincolnwood Lou's just last week, I was feeling a bit betrayed. You see, I have had pizza just about everywhere in these United States. From Hawaii to New York, and many points in between. Pizza to me has always been comfort food, and what greater comfort food than that which also brings the comfort of home town nostalgia as well as a full belly? This location was sparking clean. The service was efficient and friendly without being overbearing. The pizza was delish and perfect. The decor reminded me of just why I call Chicago home. Do I have to give one star?!? This place is NASTY both the food and the service!!! We had a group of 8 (2---2 yr olds) and the stupid waitress got her gratuity because it was 8 people! When does a restaurant need to add toddlers to the bill to get the gratuity added to the bill? When the service SUCKS!!!! On top of bad service, the pizza is horrible!!!!! Asked for the manager and he wouldn't even come out of the kitchen! Will NOT be returning to this location! I thought it fitting that my first ever yelp review be for my favorite food of all time! Giordano's I love you! I have tried them all - Gino's, Uno, and Lou Malnati's to name a few - and Giordano's is hands down the best deep dish pizza in Chicago, or anywhere else in the world for that matter! If I had no qualms about my waist expanding I would eat this pizza every day. The crust is crispy and perfectly flakey. The sauce is sweet and the topping are always fresh. Having the pizza topped with plain sausage is my favorite - there is something about the sausage that brings out the best in the cheese and sauce and puts this pizza above and beyond anything else I have ever tasted. I have had it with plain cheese and other toppings, but it is not quite the same to me as when it is topped with only sausage. I have eaten at this location many many of times, especially during high school, and the staff was always friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The booths in the middle of the restaurant are my favorite places to sit. I have never have experienced a long wait for a table but I rarely, if ever, have attempted to dine in on a Friday or Saturday night. I usually try to save all the room in my belly for the pizza - but if I just can not wait I order the mozzarella sticks which are always delicious! read more

You can't go wrong with Giordano's. Call ahead if you're going to order the stuffed as it takes a while but I'm more of a thin-crust guy anyway. They're good about not globbing on the cheese and their sausage is primo stuff. Went on my very first date with my future husband here. Had the stuffed special. I was nervous, but the food helped. Seriously. It was the most amazing pizza I had ever eaten. Now every year for the past 20 years, we try to get here on or as close as we can get, to celebrate our first date. I think as far as deep dish goes, Giordano's is pretty darn good. My sister & I like to order delivery from here as a treat. We always get the same thing - deep dish, cheese. I know...boring but my sister is picky. They delivery time is not too terrible and pizza is always piping hot. I enjoy the sauce and I dig the crust which has a nice crunch but is still a bit chewy. We've dabbled in appetizers a few times - mozzarella sticks and calamari...neither disappointed. I've never dined in so I can't speak to the restaurant but we are always pleased with our delivery order. All in all a solid pie! read more

This is a brand new Giordano's, and as such it's clean and the staff is very nice and professional. The food is....oh my goodness the food is....just...great!! Great deep dish pizza! Carry out and dine in. We dined in last night and there weren't many other people in the restaurant. Maybe they saw our table of 7 with the kids outnumbering the adults and ordered to go. Our server was nice and kept the drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol) coming. I ordered some spinach ravioli (I'm burnt out on pizza) and it was very fresh and tasty. The salad that came with it was pretty unimaginative, but it is a pizza place, so my salad expectations are pretty low. The bad thing about ordering deep dish in is that it takes about 30 minutes. That would be a regular wait to most, but with 4 kids it can seem a bit long. The staff had some crayons and something to color to help pass the time. So this was an overall pleasant experience. I saw a manager at the Giordano's in Glen Ellyn ABUSING AN EMPLOYEE! I was picking up an order a couple days ago and asked the manager how he was doing. He said he was doing bad. A bit concerned I asked him what was going on, to which he became visibly upset and pointed at the handful of employees on the floor and said, "they are the reason." What happened next is almost unbelievable. He walked over to the young man handling my order, standing nose to nose with him, and says in an angry tone, "this one most of all." The young man taking my order was visibly disturbed and embarrassed and did not know what to do or say. After the young man went into the back I addressed the manager, telling him that was inappropriate and if the owner were to ever see an employee treating another employee this way he'd fire him immediately. The manager said he was only joking around, but then changed his tone, defended his anger and told me off. Fair enough, I DON'T SUPPORT BUSINESSES WHO ABUSE THEIR EMPLOYEES! read more

You know, I really debated writing a review on this Giordanos for quite a while. I am a pizza fanatic and love supporting anything pizza-related in close proximity to me. Not only that, but I've worked as a server before and try not to be too harsh in my judgement of restaurants; everyone has their bad days. That being said, I have absolutely had it with the owner of this place. Every time I've spoken with him - either regarding a question about an order on the phone or picked up something at the restaurant - he is downright rude and condescending. This individual (who I believe has a mustache) once called me a liar and said that I was trying to scam the restaurant because I wanted a personal pan thin crust pizza, which I had gotten from that Giordanos before. This same person also hung up on me one time when I asked how late they were open; he said, "We close in five minutes, too bad for you." Listen buddy, I don't care if you've worked at a Giordanos for 24 years or not, the customer - especially loyal/local customers - ought to come ahead of your ego. Nasty owner aside, the food is pretty mediocre. There is far too much cheese on the thin crust pizzas (and, let me tell you, I love me some serious business cheese) and the result is a rubbery, unpleasant texture; oftentimes, I can't even taste the topping son the pizza at all. Point in case, I ordered a pepperoni pizza from this Giordanos about a week ago, paid for the pizza, and after eating a slice I thought perhaps the chefs had forgotten to put pepperoni on my pizza. Nope. It was just ridiculously over-saturated with cheese; I couldn't taste the pizza sauce, much less the pepperoni. Not cool. The mozzarella sticks and deep dish pizzas are alright, but sweetheart, this is Chicago; one can do better. Point in case, I would have given this Giordanos a 2 or 3 star review (because It's not terrible, but it sure isn't great), but it got knocked down to 1/5 because of the appalling people-skills the owner of this restaurant has. I hope that the owner of this restaurant realizes that his unsavory attitude is losing him customers. I can deduce from other reviews that I am not the first person frustrated by his unpleasant mannerisms and management style. Not happy at all with our experience on Saturday. When we called we had a party of six and asked if we could reserve since it was peak dinner hours. They told us that there is no need to reserve because we would only have a ten minute wait for 6 people. So we live right next to COD and went straight over. About a 2 minute drive later we walked into a packed restaurant. We shrugged it off and figured our wait would be maybe 30 minutes. Turns out they seated at least 30 people before us even though we were on the list. The host was very unorganized and seemed overwhelmed by the people. Finally an hour later we were seated. My poor nephew complaining because there was no place to sit down and when he did his back was hurting due to no support. The worst part about the whole waiting to be seated is the host avoided us like the plague because he knew he couldn't seat us and wouldn't give us any updates. So to make up for all of this they put our pizza in. They put our pizza in at 6:39, and we did not receive it until almost 8 o'clock. Our waitress was good. She refilled our drinks like a pro and got us our appetizers right away. She brought out our pizza served us and we didn't see her until it was time to box up the food. But she checked on us once for more refills. Needless to say we ate our food ravenously and got the hell out of there. Later that night for the next 24 hours I was stuck to my toilet. As my mother said when we left, NEVER AGAIN. Thanks but next time I want pizza I'll go somewhere else. read more

I've frequented this location numerous times over the past several years. From date nights to order pick up, the quality and mouth watering deliciousness of the pizza cannot be matched. I do think the pizza is pricey (as most pizzas are) so this deters me from ordering more often (there are rarely coupons, even for frequent customers). We recently ordered the lunch special: individual pizzas with house salad and Caesar salad. Both salads were fresh and delicious and the pizzas were eye ball rolling I'm in heaven delicious. Good value, and as long as the price stays the same for the lunch special, they can expect more orders from me and my lunch buddies. read more

We started out with a order of calamari and it was really good. The people at the table did not like seafood so more for me. We waited for the deep dish with sausage and pepperoni. I will say it was worth the wait. That pizza was fing good. The balance of the flavours was excellent. I ate two slices and was full. I do not even think we ordered a desert because of the heartiness of the pizza. Really good stuff. I just found out there is a girodanos here in Peoria too. I will have to make the trip. read more

Ordered the thin crust with two toppings. The crust was ok, sauce was good, but way too much cheese on the middle slices. The cheese was a solid 1/4 inch thick. Also, why would you put the toppings UNDER the cheese? You go to grab a slice, the cheese sticks to the other slices, and your piece gets stripped of toppings. This is simple pizza science that a pizza restaurant should understand. I can understand putting the mushrooms under the cheese to not dry them out, but pepperoni belongs on top of cheese. I was hoping the thin crust would be good here because we are not deep dish fans. Overall not impressed. Wedge salad was weak too. The bacon was super fatty and cheap. read more

The deep dish pizza is, of course, delicious. Really really good, with plenty of toppings and a nice chewy crust. Sometimes we will order delivery, but otherwise we only come here when out-of-towers are visiting and want Chicago style pizza. For which I can't blame them, it's super good. The pizza is thicker and the crust better than other places in the area, and the ingredients seem higher quality. The cheese, for example, is creamy and stringy, and there's a lot of it. The appetizers are decent, not great. But I eat them anyway. The atmosphere inside is a little like a cheap Irish pub, sort of dim and segmented. It could be worse. What I really don't like are the vertical backed, cramped booths. Not for this big man. I just don't feel enlivened by thy atmosphere. Service is not bad, although the restrooms seem to be a little old and sometimes not amazingly clean. Overall, it's a great bet for the pizza experience, better than Gino's East generally, but that's most of what they have going for them. read more

So sad to see this staple of Glen Ellyn pizza wars slowly circling the drain pipe. Ordered online for pick-up. SPECIFIED (and I can prove it) HALF BAKED......it's even on the ticket. Instead of half baked, it appeared to be twice baked.....crust dark and dry....sauce on the verge of solidifying from dryness. What in the #?@$ is happening to this place? When situation was brought to the attention of the older cranky fellow behind the counter, I was advised to phone it in next time...why? They had it in writing from the internet. What more do they need. It is apparent that the fast food complacency disease evident at Mac's, BK, Arby's, is spreading....and I'm sick and tired of it. Incredibly bad service waited 3 hours for a pizza that only showed up after I called them I believe if we hadn't finally called them I would still be waiting for my pizza. When we ordered the pizza we where told it would be 90 minutes we received no phone calls from them saying they are running behind. When I was finally able to get someone to answer the phone all the girl said is we are so busy (I am not sure if that is supposed to make me feel better? )I then asked if our pizzas where made she said No, mind you this is 3 hours after we ordered them, I asked her to find out what is going on. When she came back on the phone she said they where made and the delivery driver already left with them. I asked here how do you go from the pizzas not being made to them being on their way to my house...she said she didn't know. I then asked to speak to a manger she told me the manager told me to take care of "it". I said if I waited 3 hours for pizza your manger needs to make time to talk to me. The manger came to the phone a few minutes later and he said I am busy to talk to you it's my job to manager the restaurant I don't have time to talk to you call back when it's not busy. He offered no excuse, apology and truly seemed to care less of me as a customer. I believe the manager is the same guy I have seen in action a few times when I went in to pick up a pizza and he seems to have a habit of treating customers like they don't matter and are an inconvenience to him. A few of the other reviews I have read seem to echo that theme. No one should order takeout, delivery or dine in at this restaurant they are not respectful of their customers time and do not honor their commitments to their customers and honestly don't seem to care about their customers at all. Do yourself a favor avoid this place and pick a pizza place that respects their customers. read more

Absolutely horrible! Crappy service and crappy manager! My husband and I went here for dinner tonight with my 3 year old and newborn. We decided to call out order in ahead of time because well those of you that have 3 yr olds would understand (we are on time frame with him) so we order large thin crust and get there about 15 min later. Waitress verifies order with us and my husband again repeats THIN CRUST. 30 min later still no pizza and our 3 yr old is getting impatient. I ask her how much longer she says "shortly" pizza finally arrives another 20 min later except it's stuffed not thin crust like we requested. If it had just been that I would of let it go but the whole night waitress sucked, had to ask several times for drinks etc. then when we tell her we didn't order stuffed she ask what we want her to do , out order in for a thin, I said no, my son won't make it another 25 minutes to wait so we will just eat stuffed (son hates stuffed, wouldn't touch it) Then she comes back and has nerve to say oh we took $5 off your bill for mixup ?!?! Are you serious right now?? Not only did you mess up our order and not get great service but stuffed pizza is much more expensive than thin crust especially with the 4 toppings we got. They ended up taking $10 off which is ridiculous so I called after leaving and the manager doesn't give one apology instead says " we make mistakes too " very rudely, I said I get it but that's when you as manager compensates he customer for the horrible experience. He said oh well Never again . Mind you I have was a server for years and very understanding of stuff and takes a lot for me to complain so it was definitely TERRIBLE. Excellent gluten free pizza. VERY thin, but still had a lot of flavor. I got the spinach, artichoke, and feta gluten free pizza with the white sauce. Not only did I have a great experience with their food, but their service as well. Ask for Kevin as your waiter because he is friendly, always making sure you're satisfied, and really funny. read more
