Service, food and ambiance was spot on! Kayla was an awesome server and was very patient with helping decide what we wanted to eat. They give you a very fair warning that even pizza takes 45-60 minutes but it's worth the wait :) was happy to try Chicago deep dish here!! read more

I love this pizza! On a trip from CA I had to get Chicago deep dish pizza and decided to try Giordano's, based on reputation. Very friendly staff and just a fantastic experience. If you love cheesy pizza, you will love this, very good crust too. I ordered a personal Chicago Classic - 2 layers of yummy mozz cheese, pepperoni, grn pepper, onion, fresh mushrooms and a wonderful sauce which is on the top of the whole delicious pie. I left fat and happy! The catch-22, be prepared to wait 30+ min. for them to bake your pie, but it's well worth it! read more

Just steps away from the Willis Tower, my family came after a couple of days ago after long morning of walking. Luckily for us, we came after the lunch rush so we were immediately seated. Eager to try Chicago's famous pizza, we ordered the Stuffed Special Pizza and although we had to endure a long wait (the stuffed pizzas have a 35 minute wait since they make it fresh), we were not disappointed. The pizza was amazing! Such cheesy goodness with delicious tomato sauce and great filling (the onions baked in with the cheese were great), we kept eating until we were all stuffed and couldn't move. And then we took back the leftovers. The pizza was so good that we came back the next day for our last Chicago lunch and had the Stuffed Cheese. It was also delicious, though I liked the Stuffed Special more. Both times, service was great and the wait was worth it. I'll definitely be back! read more

Having tried Uno's and Giordano's I must say I prefer Giordano's way better! First the restaurant- Giordano's is larger, has better seating, has attentive wait staff, and you can see into their kitchen as they're making your pizza! We ordered the garlic Parmesan fries which were a delicious appetizer. They serve it with ranch and ketchup. Crispy pieces of fried garlic and bits of parensian cheese were sprinkled generously on a pile of crispy fries- I wanted another order! I tried the Italian ice lemonade- sweet and tart and very delicious! We got a small deep dish pizza. It was by far the best pizza I've ever had! The crust was crispy and didn't get soggy and it was a super thick crust! It was so cheesy! And the toppings were plentiful! I will definitely come here on every trip to Chicago! The best Chicago deep dish pizza I've ever had! read more

This place is as "money" as it gets. I have never had a bad experience or a bad meal... They have it down to a science. It takes about 45 minutes for your pizza to cook and the wait for our table was 35 minutes. So they took our order and while we were waiting for the table to get ready our pizza was in the oven. I was here with James Zacariello, a guy who knows his Chicago food. While we waited for our table we decided to hop across the street to a bar and have a drink. After a bourbon and some beer we headed back across the street to take our seat at this Chicago institution. We ordered the bruschetta, which always comes looking beautifully presented. The tomatoes were juicy and flavorful and the mozzerella that sat atop the toast was fresh and cut to the perfect thickness. Add balsamic drizzle and fresh basil and you get one wonderful dish. It is an explosion of deliciousness. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and it came out right on time. The deep dish thin crust, with a nice layer of pepperoni directly on top... Smothered in the thick layers of mozzarella cheese and a thin layer of tomato sauce.... (All melted to perfection)... danced in our mouth's like Fred Astaire. This time I decided not to overeat. I took my last slice "to go." But right before starting this review, and several hours after being back at my hotel, I opened the box and attacked the last piece. This place is a must... Move over New York pizza. You are good. In fact you are very, very good - but nothing can beat a good Chicago deep dish experience!!! read more

So many people told me that when I visit Chicago I HAVE to try Giordano's Pizza. So of course I couldn't pass up the opportunity. We were able to be seated right away. To my surprise it wasn't crowded (note it got very busy as we were heading out). We arrived close to 3pm and weren't super hungry, so we ordered the cheesy garlic bread, and an extra thin crust custom pizza. (We will try the deep dish another day). Take note that the pizzas will take 25-40 mins depending on the size s& crust of pizza you order. Thankfully, our food came out super fast! Everything was amazing! What stood out to me the most & separated this pizza from any others I've had was the crust. Sooooo good that I can't even describe it. Do yourself a favor, and eat the crust! I left feeling very satisfied without feeling too full/sluggish. If you're contemplating visiting, RUN, don't walk! You will not be disappointed. read more

We came around 2:00 to try the deep dish on a Monday. We stood at the entrance for a little while...not sure why as it wasn't busy. When someone finally came over for our drink order after we were seated, we tried to get a small deep dish but they were sold out. They said we could get one made but it would take 40 minutes. We just went with a thin crust small and calamari. The calamari was actually quite good! The small pizza was way too big for the two of us and we could only finish half. We sat there forever waiting on a drink refill which never came. By the time the waiter finally came back to ask about a refill, I just asked for the check and a box. I left a tip because I don't know what kind of wages they are on and didn't want to leave nothing, but did not like the service. While it was friendly, it was also not very present. read more

If you're looking for a good and classic deep dish pizza Giordano's is just one of many others you can go to and eat at. It tastes good and the price is alright. It's kind of like if dominos was a restaurant and offered deep dish pizza, it's good but it doesn't really distinguish itself in flavor or style from any other chain deep dish pizza place. Service was great at the bar and I appreciated my bartenders advice to order an appetizer since the pizza itself took about 45 minutes to come out. It was very filling for being a personal size pizza and they definitely didn't skimp out on loading it with cheese and sausage. Overall it's a cool place to go with your friends and get a pizza, but I wouldn't call it the best. read more

REALLY love this place but it gets PACKED. Did I say it gets packed? It gets packed! This is what can delay getting your pizza but it is still well worth the wait. I took two people here who had never been to Chicago or Giordano's and they said it was easily the best pizza they had ever had and it all got consumed. Three guys and a giant, so that says something. One thing you can do if dining in is order your pizza at the back and they will get it going for you and it will speed things up once you get seated. read more

The pizza was fantastic. As a visitor to Chicago, I was very impressed with the deep dish and the thin crust pizza. We had the classic Chicago deep dish and the spinach, artichoke, and feta thin crust. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that I feel the service was lacking a little bit. We had two servers during our dinner and neither made much of an effort to connect with us after stating it was our first time visiting. We saw other servers helping serve the deep dish to the customers but we did not get that. But overall, a great experience. read more

Believe me it's so difficult to decide on THE RIGHT deep dish pizza restaurant. Ask a dozen people and your there's no one place that stands out as THE place to go try it. So, your left with two options: if you're going to be in town long enough, try them all and let us know your results. However, if not, choose the closest one to where you are when you're ready to go or put them all in a bag and pick one. Then embark on a journey of your own. So, there we were, close to lunch time and knowing that it takes 45 min to cook asked a local which was the best deep dish pizza place to go to. After he gave us the qualities of them all he said that #Giordano's was a great experience and only a few blocks away. We selected the small pie (6 slices) with chicken sausage, spinach and mushrooms. 45 min later as promised it arrived bubbly and smelling awesome. The server faves us each a slice and was it delicious. Fresh vegetables, plenty of well seasoned crumbled chicken sausage without a casing, a delicious fresh tasting tomato sauce , a truly wonderful crust and oh yes, plenty of ooze stretchy mozzarella. We devoured three slices for the two of us and carried the leftovers home on the plane and enjoyed an instant replay every bit as delicious . Can't wait to go back and try the competition. read more

Giordano's famous stuffed deep dish pizza has gone beyond legendary status. It's reached "tourist" levels. There are multiple locations across the Windy City. This one is just down the street from the popular Willis Tour. Before you walk in the door, sign up for the online deal with the "g club" for a FREE bruschetta appetizer. And, then don't eat too much of it because you're at Giordano's for the deep dish Chicago-style pizza. The pizza is why you came. The pizza is what you should eat. What kind of person doesn't love Chicago pizza? A weird dough. I know Giordano's is a chain. I hate the wait. I get that there are definitely better local or authentic Chicago pizza joints out there. Yes, it's full of tourists (like me). I understand all of that ... and still I give Giordano's 5 stuffed stars. The Special Giordano's Deep Dish Pizza loaded with Sausage, Mushrooms, Green Peppers, and Onions was a filling and satisfying legend worthy of tourist affection and appeal. read more

Short and simple review. Went in with a small group of 8 for lunch meeting. We had called ahead and placed an order. When we arrived, no seat, no record of order, nada, despite us having confirmation email. Management was extremely rude and disrespectful to us and more so to the staff. Only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the servers were great!. Go to this location at your own risk... read more

My view on pizza definitely changed after visiting Chicago. I used to only like NY-style pizza, but Giordano's definitely changed my mind! There are several locations around Chicago, but this one was conveniently located around the corner from Willis Tower. There was a little bit of a wait, but it works in your favor because you can pre-order your pizza that takes about 30-45 minutes to bake. After we were seated, we ordered the calamari, which was cooked well and warm. For our pizza, we got the Chicago Special, and it was amazing! The crust was crunch and I loved the layers of everything on the pizza. I was full after a couple slices and was, luckily, able to take everything home. I love that there is an option to order online, which I may have to do if I am craving it at home! read more

We were on a layover between trains and wanted authentic Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. Read the reviews and Giordano's seemed the place to go. OMG. The pizza was fantastic- got the classic - pepperoni, peppers, onions and mushrooms. The bottom crust was beautifully crispy. . The tomato sauce tasted like fresh tomatoes. It did not disappoint. We got the small since there were only two of us and it was perfect. Our server, Joey, was friendly, prompt and very attentive. Never had to ask for a drink refill. I would highly recommend! read more

The place was good and the atmosphere was nice. It was like a sports bar. The deep dish was amazing and worth the wait.

Unfortunately we had a huge time limit when we stepped in for our dinner. The server was INCREDIBLE! She knew exactly what size pizza would work for us and put it in within minutes of us sitting down. She had our drinks in our hands within minutes and our pizza on the table as soon as it came out. It was my partner's first Chicago pizza, and after trying another restaurant's version, we came back for yet another pizza in the same weekend. Absolute perfection each time. Great service. It's by far our new favorite place in Chicago. Their beer list does leave a lot to be desired though. read more

I'm glad I came here after trying Lou's, because I prob would have written off deep dish pizza. I ordered the personal size pizza, Greek salad and garlic parm tossed fries. I added broccoli and spinach on my pizza, or should I say in my pizza. I was really excited to try another deep dish pizza place since Lou's had totally changed my mind about deep dish but I was so disappointed. It takes about 40 mins (average wait time at most places) for the pizza to cook and when it came out the dough was still not cooked. It seems like because it was stuffed with toppings it made the dough soggy and was undercooked. The broccoli had way too much garlic (and I love garlic) so I could only eat 1 tiny slice. Thankfully the fries were amazing because my Greek salad was also not that great. It was just an overpriced small salad. I felt a little embarrassed because the waiter kept coming over asking how the pizza tasted since I barely ate the 1 slice. I didn't have the guts to tell her how bad it was. read more

Ok, so the place was nice and the servers were well trained; for that it has my recommendation(the food takes a little more time to come than expected, so hold your horses!!). However, the food was of inferior quality. The garlic bread did not have a favour of garlic. Also the cheese used was not that good. Deep Dish was OK!! I guess, the drinks were also average, the bar guy could do a better job at mixing drinks. read more

This location is great with a traditional atmosphere and the service is amazing. read more

We sat down for a long awaited for, deep dish pizza. Giordano's uses Wisconsin cheeses and California tomatoes. The pizza was very delicious and stringy cheesy after the first bite. If I would have stopped there it would have been perfect. Unfortunately, by the second piece, the pizza and cheese had cooled and was not so good. They should have a way of keeping the pizza hot until the last bite. Though its patriotic to use domestic ingredients, nothing better than fresh plum tomatoes and cheeses from Italy on a pizza. Thanks for reading, Avram read more

I arranged a lunch here for my team so we could celebrate the holidays and do our gift swap and steal game. I had to put a card down/ pre-order which I didn't love, but they were ready for us. We were seated immediately and our food came out on time. The thin crust, my fave, was great, but I was surprised how much I liked the spinach deep dish. Deep dish is never my first choice, but this was great. The crust was perfect and flavorful, there was enough spinach to really taste it, and the cheese/ sauce balance was right on. I'm definitely reconsidering my position on deep dish! read more

Boo! This place has great reviews so while in Chicago, we decided to grab some pizza. Unfortunately, this place was terrible. The atmosphere was fine and the service was friendly, but the food was SUB-par. The mozzarella sticks with marinara dipping sauce was good but the pizza was YUCK. the crust was extremely dense- think water crackers. Just water and flour...no flavor, and basically a brick. The sauce was good and cheese too but if the foundation is off (the crust) then the whole thing is ruined. read more

Never heard our name called so when I walked back in to sit. We sat for about 10 mins and finally said have you called our name? The hostess said yes but you didn't respond. Immediately seated given water and a menu then waiter disappeared 40 minutes prior to taking order. It took additional 40 minutes to get food. Meanwhile take out orders going out like crazy. Restaurant was beautiful inside with lots of windows. It was not overly busy but rowdy children bumping into some of the other diners. Had 1 drink a piece, small deep dish and 2 desserts to go. Total was $90. Food was excellent but would recommend going the take out route. read more

Since Chicago deep dish pizza was such a big thing, I decided to try a couple of the most popular deep dish spots. I've been told that the wait is crazy long, but I came to Giordano's around 2 pm, right after finishing my rounds on the Skydeck. There was no wait. I got a deep dish pizza to share between two people. What's cool about Giordano's is that you can split your pizza, so I got half Bacon BBQ Chicken and half of the Special. The deep dish takes about 45 minutes, give or take a few minutes. Both the BBQ chicken and the special were delicious. The BBQ had a lot of bacon and bbq sauce. It was a nice change in pizza toppings. What I liked about Giordano's is that their special pizza had mushrooms, peppers and onions and small chunks of sausage. Whereas Lou Malnatti's only had a large layer of sausage. The pizza was so big that I could only eat 1.5 slice and had to take the rest of the pizza home. The service here is great and they sell frozen pizzas if you want to take a little bit of Chicago back home with you. read more

After walking around downtown, we stopped in on a whim. What an awesome whim that was. The place was PACKED, but we got seated pretty quick. The location is much bigger than I thought it was from the front. After eyeing our neighbors pizza, we picked out a pie to share. It does take a little longer to cook than your average pizzas since it is a true deep dish (around 45 minutes). The pizza came out so delicious and so filling. I ate one piece and was full. I wont come back to Chicago without a stop here! read more

I definitely like Lou Malnati's much better. The crust at Giordano's is more like crunchy/slightly flaky bread. I like that it wasn't soggy because of the amount of cheese layered. The cheese was so overpowering in the pizza that I wish we had more sausage to balance it out. Our service was great and very friendly. read more

At least three friends and five strangers recommended this place for deep-dish while in Chicago. This New Yorker native cannot, in good conscious, call deep-dish 'pizza' and even the Maître D agreed it was more like a lasagna. They had a great happy hour deal going on and lots of seating to accommodate the masses that came after work. Our server (sorry I don't remember his name!) had great recommendations and even helped us find a place to go afterwards for live music. The food: the deep-dish casseroles were delicious! Lots and lots of cheese, fresh and filling. We had some wine to go with it (bartender had a heavy hand that night, thank you dear!!) and left right before it got super busy. read more

We polled several people about where to get Chicago Style pizza, and all but one said Giordano's. Is this because, when put on the spot, people blurt out the most popular name they can think of? I was afraid that was the case, but when we discovered that this location was literally around the corner from our hotel, there was no reason not to check it out. We were seated quickly, and despite the menu and the waiter telling us there may be a wait because the pizzas take a while to bake, we got our Meat & More Meat pizza pretty quickly. It wasn't SUPER hot, which makes me think they par-bake them a little, but it really was delicious. I'm so glad we went there for the Chicago pizza experience!! PS....we're from New York.
