If this were just a review on the pizza, it would be 100 star because it is beyond good...over the top, excellent, to-die-for good. I loved it so much, I'm going to try to recreate the recipe at home (good luck to me. ha) because out here in SoCal, we have NOTHING like this. I only ate two slices and my stomach was about to explode because the slices are huge and filling. The rest of the experience was meh. Our waitress really didn't want to spend time dealing with us, or anybody it seemed. It was crowded, I'll give her that, but she was constantly running away so it was hard to get anything, and if we paused at all, she would leave! Seriously, though, the pizza was just so good, I don't even care about the service (for once.) Also the pitchers of beer are pretty cheap. It takes a long time so be sure to order a starter salad or something. You'll be waiting at least 45 minutes for the pizza. read more

Not sure what the all the hype is about. We shared a small thin and an individual sausage. Very doughy and the cheese was super heavy. Had a hard time finding the meat on both pizzas. I will say we were excited to try and like deep dish so we were disappointed...so maybe deep dish/Chicago style isn't for us. We actually missed our papa Gino's in MA;). I will say the house salad we shared was so good. Just with olive oil and balsamic...but fresh, clean and the balsamic was very good. It was good to have some roughage with all that cheese and bread. read more

I heard all the hype about this place. Tried it and was not overly impressed. Got a sausage and tomato deep dish. Not much sausage and not much flavor when you get near the crust. Also, pizza does not come out in its pan. So if you like warm/hot pizza, eat fast. This city has many other pizza offerings. My suggestion is to pick another read more

It was my boyfriend's first time in Chicago (he was visiting from France) so I knew he needed to try some of the food that Chicago is famous for. We walked over from Union Station as soon as we got off the train at about 1:00pm. We were seated immediately at a table near the door. Luckily it was about 60 degrees outside because we got a huge blast of air each time someone left the restaurant. Ordered drinks, a salad and a small stuffed pizza. Food was good, overall nothing to complain about. I do think the prices are a little outrageous but that is what you get in downtown Chicago at a place that is hyped up to be one of the top 2 deep dish pizza places in the city. Service was nothing special. We got our drinks and food as ordered but if you're looking for anything above and beyond from a server, this isn't the place to go. read more

I was not satisfied with this place at all. They deserve negative ratings if those could be given. Walking in, you'd expect host to be friendly and say a hello, but I was first to say hello to her. All she asked was "how many?" after following her to the table, there was still a checkbook left from the previous diners on the table. Obviously you would sit customers at a table that was cleaned and ready, also there were other tables available. I stated to her that there was still a checkbook left on the table, instead of apologizing, she took it and walked away. Giordano's definitely needs to train their staff better. The waitress we had did not care for how we were doing, did not apologize or seem sympathetic after bringing out our wrong pizza order. Also, the tables around us were being apologized to for their wait given complimentary things from the kitchen. She walked by three times without asking how we were doing. She took too long to bring us our check, and even pick it up. She even had the audacity to highlight where they had tip calculations. The food was cold, the pizza wasn't hot enough, the crust was under cooked, and their italian ice lemonade was basically crushed ice and lemonade. I have worked in customer service for a long time, and that was not how you should treat guests. I have never felt the need to review a place, even ones I've been given great service from. This one needed a review to let you all know not to go there. read more

Love me some stuffed pizza! The entrance seems like it clogs up easily due to the spinning door, but that's just a small nuisance. Beer selection is a bit small, but the pizza makes up for it. Really a good idea to pre-order your 'za while waiting to be seated! I know these guys have multiple locations around town so it's probably not uber-authentic, but it's fine with me. read more

Was in town with my teenage daughter and decided to grab 'Chicago's Best'. The atmosphere is active and lively at this location. We started with the bruschetta + fresh mozzarella: mountains of tomato, very nice mozzarella and toasted baguette. Would have like a bit more excellent balsamic vinaigrette to ensure coverage on the mountains of ripe tomatoes. We had the super veggie pizza stuffed deep dish: excellent and flaky pizza crust is their signature and didn't disappoint. Copious cheese and tangy sauce were great. Lots of veggies meant lots of water--this specific pizza could have used a bit more cooking time to dehydrate the veggies more. Mag mile margaritas were strong and sweet. Service was professional, efficient, prompt, but a bit on the impersonal side. read more

We stopped in here after visiting Willis Tower. We ordered the Meat & More Meat stuffed pizza. We ordered the medium for my son, father in law and I. It was just enough for the three of us. The pizza was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely will stop here again next time we're in Chicago. read more

Visiting chicago for nye so we figured that we had to have some deep dish. Some friends suggested that we check out giordanos so we Came here for lunch and ordered the stuffed special (sausage, peppers, onions). Overall, It was a good serviceable pizza but nothing extraordinary. There was ample stuffing but the crust tasted store bought. It seems like they make the dough, freeze it, and cook the pizza to order with the frozen dough. If you want to experience the novelty of deep dish, giordanos is a good option but the overall product is nothing to write home about. read more

The pizza was good...really good The service was acceptable. I didn't expect or want the waitstaff to be overly chatty, but all three servers who served me were expressionless. It seemed like a chore to have them bring my pizza...in fact, after placing my order, my waitress said she was leaving for he night and someone else would be serving me. 20 minutes later, I saw her waiting on another table. If I owned the place, I would probably have my waitstaff act like they wanted to be there. But this place gets 4 stars...the pizza was that good read more

We were referred here by a friend who is from Chicago and we are so glad they did! We had the Chicago style pizza and it was some of the best we've had. We even went back the next night and had their lasagna and chicken parm and we were quite impressed. They told us about a local beer called Green Line and it was very good. We had it both times. The service was above average and friendly. We recommend this place and will definitely return! read more

First time in Chicago, it's definitely a great environment inside. A friend recommended me this place, and she said it was one of the best deep dish pizza places she's been to. The services there was great, kept asking us how we were doing and whatnot. Definitely an above average experience. We ordered the small size Chicago style pizza with pesto chicken and mushrooms and was the best choice I made! I don't think I'll be able to go back to regular pizza! Would definitely come here again whenever I have the chance! I would love to try their other dishes too! read more

I was so enthusiastic to try the famous deep dish pizza from giardano. We ordered the super veggie one with a peperroni extra. I don't really like the dough and the vegetable seem not to be fresh. Yes the quantity but not the quality of the ingredients. read more

If I were to rate just the food,it would be five stars, but the service was not good at all. While we were there most of the restaurant was empty because they had a reservation for 81.So we were ignored the whole time and the host told us we couldn't have our stroller at the table because they have a big party coming in,so I guess we don't count as much as the reservation they had.Well my nephew was asleep in the the stroller and we had to wake him up so he screamed until we had to take him Outside. So by that time,I was done we just took our food to go.The wait is long, but the food is worth it. read more

I have extremely bad experience in this restaurant. I fell in the restaurant due to the slippery floor of the restaurant. Have been going through a lot of pain and hassle. At the time I was down on the floor and in sever pain, the restaurant manager Edgar Rivera put a Wet Floor Warning Sign and took a photo of it. My friend was a witness that he brought the sign when I was laid on the floor and crying of pain. Later the sent that photo to the insurance company. This is a huge fraud to me. if they are this much dishonest, god knows what they put in their foods. so shameful. read more

Good food, the bruschetta was the best I've ever had! Pizza was not on point that day, toppings weren't up to the brim like they usually are, but they were fresh and tasty. Crust was a little hard that day. Overall, great flavor for the pizza, though. If I could, I'd give it 3.5/5. TAKEAWAY: go for the bruschetta 100%, and the pizza may be better when they aren't so busy (Lunch?). It was right in the middle of dinner rush when we went. read more

This pizza was awesome. I normally do not like deep dish pizza; however while visiting Chicago I had to try Chicago style pizza. It was delicious. Not too bready like I find most deep dish. It was more like a pie and I enjoyed it. The salad was huge. It fed me and my two nieces. We enjoyed ourselves. There was a wait to get seated but the meal was well worth the wait. We had the pizza twice. Second time it was delivered to our hotel. Fresh hot and delicious. read more

Great service, great food. The pizza was perfect, the crust was crunchy, light and flaky without being soggy. We brought our kids, and they loved it. The old ads and pictures on the walls kept them entertained. We ended up deciding on the S'more pizza for dessert. It took a bit longer than we expected, so we were surprised with delicious hot chocolate for the kiddos. read more

Amazing pizza. Horrible customer service. We we're told "45 minute wait". No problem we ordered our stuffed pizza in advance (pizza, mind you, that we had traveled 1,000, miles to eat), ordered our beer & had a seat at the bar. About an hour later, I went to ask how much longer and was told we're 3rd on line. 15 minutes & 5 others tables called, I returned to the host to be told that they gave our table away. Instead of any kind of apology, the host gave me a "sucks to be you" shrug of his shoulders. Finally sat us & again we waited anothet 20 minutes for pizza with wrong toppimgs & overcooked crust (no doubt from being forgotten under heat lamps). From Walk-in to food 1 hour 40 minutes. Not a single apology. Incredibly rude host staff. Nicer waiter & charming bartender. Overall, terribly disappointed. read more

Delicious pizza! I am a big fan of Lou Malnatis as I have a few locations near my home. I went to Giordano's for a change when I went to Chicago. Comparison: Lou Malnatis - buttery, thick crust. Crust can be tough. Thicker cheese layer. Can taste tomato chunks. Giordanos - flakey crust, cheese blends with the pizza well (not too much cheese) Good balance of flavors. I won't say which one is better because I like both versions of deep dish pizza. My two friends and I ordered the Original in medium (8 slices) and a house salad in entree size. The total bill was 47 dollars including tip. Be aware that it takes a good 40 min to bake a pizza. Service was not exceptionally good. read more

food is superb! this place was recommended by a man we met on the blue line and it did not disappoint. The wait for this place shows how high of a demand and how much people love this place. Ordered the bruschetta, ceaser salad, chicken broccoli alfredo & the Chicago classic deep dish! All of the above were delllllishhh! Definitely would recommend & be back for more! I know it was a busy night but the service was terrible. The wait was about 45min but that was understandable but not even the problem. Once we got our table, our server was attentive and took our order right away. He was around more when it was busy and when it slowed down, he just disappeared. He would serve the table behind us and when we would ask him a question, he would say one moment and never return. We asked for our check, and it took him 20mins to come back with it. I was tempted to just walk out and leave and no one would notice because the guy at the front desk had his head buried in his phone. Had to change it to 3stars for service. read more

This was highly recommended to me. I'm a native New Yorker, and not that fond of deep dish pizza (sue me...). I ordered the thin crust online. We got a veggie and a onion/spinach/artichoke. The delivery was actually about 20 minutes early, which was nice. Website didn't want to accept the address of the Merchandise Mart, it kept saying it didn't exist. I put it in five or six times, copying and pasting every time, and it took the last time with no changes whatsoever. The crust was mediocre in my mind. Not nearly as good as NY pizza, and kind of bland and hard, not a thin crust. Next time I'll try super thin. The group of 5 were happier than I was (but hey, it's my review!). For me, it had way too much cheese on it. I really couldn't taste the spinach or onions, artichoke was nice large pieces, but it was pretty much drowned out by the cheese. I'd also request less cheese next time. The delivery was great, and the delivery guy was very nice and polite :) Also there was a 20% off coupon for online when I searched for "Giordano's Chicago Order Online". It worked. That was very nice. read more

My God is this Pizza good or what!? My waitress Geneva was just as good as the delicious food. I had the 6 inch, stuff crust Pizza and the garlic fries and everything was incredible. We were in town for the Pearl Jam concert at Wrigley Field. We wanted a true Chicago deep dish pizza. This place was recommended by our hotel. Excellent choice. We started with cheese curds and calamari. The cheese curds were really good and the calamari was average. We had the stuffed pizza with ground beef for the table. It was delicious. We had four people in our party and we could only eat half the pizza. The wait was about 45 minutes for the pie but it was well worth it. We would definitely recommend to people visiting Chicago. read more
