I have been to Ginza multiple times since my 4 star rating but this was the most disappointing trip and I have to write about it. DO NOT ORDER THE SASHIMI BOAT APPETIZER. $38.95 for the same amount of fish as you would get in the sashimi deluxe entree. The fish was UNEVENLY sliced and poorly arranged. Whoever was making it tonight did a crappy job. I saw some other photos of the appetizer boats and they definitely looked better. Inconsistent quality. SUCH CRAPPY SERVICE. We walked into the restaurant, there were about 5 empty tables and the waitress comes over in her heavily accented English to tell me to take the stairs to the other restaurant because the sushi bar here was busy. We were not given a choice. We walked over to the other side, confused and came back to the Ginza side and told her that we did not want to sit over there. Pleasant atmosphere. I originally thought the entrance was on Main but it was actually on the cross street. There was a parking lot but since we found street parking first, we just went for that. Glad to know there is a lot though if we hadn't found a spot right out front. Servers were pleasant and the food was good. Very pleased! Prices were reasonable. We got seated in the extended portion of the restaurant. The main part is much nicer. No reservation necessary for lunch, but may consider for dinner. For 2 people, we ordered the fried oysters lunch entree ($12.50) and chirashi bowl ($19.50). It was plenty of food, if not too much. 8 pieces of oysters! They're good! But 4 pieces was too many for me. The chirashi bowl was very good as well! Sashimi was yummy for the price and it probably came with 14 slices of fish and then some misc stuff like shrimp, eel, octopus. I def think extra $4 for this chirashi bowl is worth it over the Musashis one. One drawback was that there was little to no service. No one came to take our order for a long while and I had to find a server. I've dined in the main room before and it was fine. The one thing I really appreciate about Ginza is the wide range of variety in their menu. From sushi, to ramen & teriyaki, even Japanese BBQ! They seem to have everything. With that being said, Ginza isn't spectacular but they do have good food with a lot to choose from. We ordered two rolls (they have a ton of rolls!), the burning bomb roll & the garlic albacore roll, as well as the daily special which was teriyaki halibut & deep fried oyster dinner. I actually really liked the rolls, but the burning bomb roll was just too small compared to your usual rolls. I was really disappointed by this. As for the halibut/oyster dinner, it was pretty decent but was something you could easily cook at home - I don't recommend this dish. Service here is great, tons of friendly people that even gave me a free bowl of rice! They definitely get a star for that. Prices are decent, paid $37 for 3 items. Overall, Ginza is a place where you can't go wrong but definitely could do better. The quality of their sushi was good but portion size and presentation could use some work. Another great asian food place on the east side! Ginza offers great sushi/sashimi but also sport a huge menu of other cooked items if you have picky eaters in your group. They do everthing really well! I had the O-toro which these days is like ordering a piece of the last unicorn or something. But so worth it! Nice sized buttery slab dwarfing the sushi rice it came on. Also went with the Poke roll (tuna, avodcao, green onion) which was very good. The pork belly grilled with tea leaves was AMAZING. I would definitely crawl over a sea of thumb tacks or broken glass or even drive across the 520 for this dish. The pumpkin fried rice was great, served inside an actual pumpkin which takes a bit longer to cook so be patient. Service was very fast and attentive. I love their sushi. One of my favorite rolls they have there is the tuna lovers. The pieces of meat over the fish were large and fatty, which made it all the more tasty. The previous time I went, I tried some of their rolls with the yellow tail. It was all very tasty. I can't say this is the least expensive place, but this is a great place to take a date. I'm excited to try more of their rolls and their sushi. read more

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant . They used to have a large space in the back that was larger than their main seating area and maybe due to COVID, they rented that area out to another business. I typically get the salmon teriyaki as I can't make it like theirs. Mine comes close but they seem to use really good quality salmon though the piece is a bit small. Their tempura is also very good. We sometimes get the spider roll as well. They are known for their pumpkin fried rice, which we ordered as a to-go item yesterday. I also love their green tea ice cream and was once told that they get it from a vendor in Redmond. read more

I went here with my friend and I must say it wasnt the best but I definitely enjoyed the food. My friend and I shared a chicken katsu, pumpkin fried rice, and volcano roll. I must say I wasnt all that crazy about the volcano roll because the fish on top was what it seemed semi cooked mackerel and the cali roll beneath you know your typical cali roll. Their spicy sauce did kind of save the strange combination a little bit to make it more manageable to eat. Katsu was your typically ordinary katsu. I didn't find it anything special. Their pumpkin fried rice however was a CLEAR winner! I loved their fried rice in a whole pumpkin presentation and how we can scrape the pumpkin to enjoy its sweet flavor with the savory fried rice! That dish alone I think made my night (: Next time I think I will try their nigiri and more raw fish sushi to have a fairer judgment of their sushi. I dont think I had a chance to do that. read more

The restaurant is dated but the service are friendly and it have a very homey feeling. I love the little touch with the napkin and chopsticks. The fish are very clean and fresh, I love the Hokkaido roll, it's A MUST get if you love sockeye salmon & REAL crab meat! Black cod was good too! The only reason 1 Star is off is they forgot our gyoza (we saw gyoza going to other table after us) but they bring it out before we have a chance to ask. This place is wonderful! I don't know why it doesn't have 5 stars. Other reviews have said that the food here is overpriced but the portion sizes are huge and the size of the nigiri sushi is about double the amount of fish you'd get anywhere else so definitely worth it. The pumpkin fried rice was incredible. The pumpkin itself was so tender. Presentation was beautiful and taste was better than I had even expected (normally I don't order fried rice at restaurants because I think it can be so easily made at home). We also got two orders of omikaze?? (something like that...the chefs hand selected sushi plate with 10 pieces for $35). Definitely worth it over the 9 pieces of sushi with a tuna roll for $28 because the fish was so high quality and fresh. The fried oyster roll, garlic albacore, and unagi rolls were all delicious as well and came with 8 pieces. We finished off with the green tea creme brûlée which was delicious as well to end a fantastic meal. YUM. Oh, and with the meal comes a bowl of pickled cucumber, miso soup, and fresh fruit dessert for each person. Bathrooms were clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Come here early though. I can't wait to go back...my boyfriend and I went and made a rule that we can't go without each other! I've never been to a Yakiniku place before but this has set the standard high. Location is really easy to get to and park near and price is accurate for what you get. Wait was short and waitstaff was really nice and answered all of our questions to satisfaction. We had several waiters during our meal and I loved seeing consistency across them. The menu is huge and mostly unfamiliar so we started a few sushi rolls and gyoza before ordering the meat but had we known about the $40 minimum spend for the grill we would have just cut straight to that. There are plenty of grill options; we went for the short ribs, inside skirt, and Rib Eye (thin sliced)....MY GOD, WOW. Even with us cooking it ourselves, the meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful as heck! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The second we took the first bites, my boyfriend and I looked at each other and the rest of the meal consisted of us cooing at the food and oohing and ahhing. I really loved that they give two sauces (per person because no way were we gonna share); one was a sweet white sauce and one was darker vinegar-ish sesame sauce. Both were delicious! The whole experience just took off the second he put the plates of raw meat on the table and we loved being able to grill it ourselves. read more

We were looking for some good sushi on the Eastside and this one has solid reputation. Luckily they took a reservation, we skipped the waiting line. It is like a family friendly restaurant and good for a couple or a group. Based on the pictures from other Yelpers', I got some ideas about the food here. We ordered deep fried oysters, sushi & sashimi combo, American Dream, Scorpion, Tighter tail, Unagi rolls and pumpkin fried rice. The miso soup and side of cucumber were tasty and the seafood were fresh too. I love their pumpkin fried rice even though I am not a fan of bacons. The smoky roasted bacon flavor mixed the pumpkin and rice very well. The staff were friendly but the service was a little bit slow. I had to make eye contacts with the servers to get their attention. Besides, Unagi rolls were a little looser than we expected. The rolls were falling apart when we tried to pick up with chopsticks. For these reasons, I reduced my ratings by one star. Anyways, we were glad to find another decent sushi restaurant on the Eastside and looking forward to coming back. read more

I loved the pumpkin fried rice and it definitely lived up to the hype. It was savory and the mellow sweetness of the pumpkin was a great complement. Besides, the presentation was great too. The sushi we had was decent, and the grilled fish was flaky and tender. The beef tongue came on a sizzling grill, and was pretty delectable to eat. Menu items are a little pricey, but not too extreme in my book. I would probably choose other Japanese restaurants like Japonessa over Ginza though. read more

The side salads, Miso soup and fruit desserts were all good too. Prices were reasonable as were the portions. My fiancé and I ate here for dinner and the food was good. We ordered a couple of rolls, ramen, and also the grilled duck. The unagi cucumber rolls and negi toro rolls were good and my fiancé enjoyed his ramen, but 30 minutes into waiting for my duck I decided to ask the status, because while duck can take a little longer to prepare... 30 minutes is a while. I was informed that they were out of duck. At first we were very upset -- the waitress was dismissive. Maybe she was embarrassed? I don't know. But we had waited over 30 minutes and then had to ask someone to update us, and received 0 apology from our waitress, just a matter-of-fact "we are out of duck." I ordered a different meal. However, a hostess or maybe the owner (not sure) came over and apologized, and then followed up by giving us free dessert. It was a very nice gesture and made us feel a lot better. She was very nice and I could tell she felt terrible that that had happened. The dessert was delicious, and the main courses were delicious, which made up for the weird experience with the wait staff, and the 30 minute wait. Above all, the gesture of kindness turned this around for us. I would recommend. EDIT: I would also like to mention that this is from our dining experience in May of 2018! Came here for a business dinner. Not sure about the so so reviews. My first wow was the pumpkin fried rice. I thought it was a holiday only dish. No, it is all year round. Pumpkin fried rice? What? This is amazing, tastes yummy and is an extra twist to the safe fried rice if you're not too adventurous with Asian cuisine. We had great service the night we went even though they were slammed. They offered great recommendations as we wanted to try a little bit of everything from appetizers, soups outside their rice dishes. We went a little overboard between the pumpkin and the sushi. We also had broiled squid and wonton soup. I used to overlook this place compared to what they had around in the area. On next afternoon I think I need to tell details for good customers who might be treated and cheated like me. 1) We were two and waitress asked to sit the table in front of toilet even three tables are vacant. They said tables are RESERVED but no one came until we leave. 2) Food were NOT served on same time. My wife's food served first and my Deluxe sushi is served almost 20 minutes later. Excellent!! 3) Waitress just took my napkins without asking..... 4) They served hot tea but just served one cup. And even didn't know what they did. Until that moment, I thought INEXPERIENCED servers, many of them I have seen many times as I am a nice customer for past 3 years, made my weekend miserable. 5) Worst part is I ordered Deluxe Sushi and they served Regular sushi. $5 difference. I know the difference between Deluxe and Regular. They served Regular and charged Deluxe while they thought usual customers don't know the difference. Ginza is NOT a old Ginza anymore. Last time, I left my togo order for my boy studying at home. I realized to leave that one and call back them 5 minutes later. I am living a Condo cross the road. Ginza on Main Street has been there for years. They have been very successful and expanded to add a section to accommodate table top grilling (yakiniku). Still a popular Japanese cuisine that I like very much. They have excellent menu and the chefs take cooking and making sashimi/sushi rolls very seriously, always with fresh ingredients, skillful cooking, very authentic. Our last lunch there included special fried rice in pumpkin bowl was excellent (only in dinner menu but can special order lunch hour), tempura udon was best around, assorted sashimi was presented well and prepared with very fresh fishes. All good are decisions and well done. Will definitely go back for more and introduce to family and friends. read more

I would recommend getting the tempura bento box instead though since it comes with so much more and is only a couple dollars more. Just finished eating here and my boyfriend and I can't stop talking about how great our evening was! We came knowing there was often a wait (we waited about 40 minutes for a two person table at 6pm) so we wrote our names on the list then walked around Main Street which made the time go fast.
