I was there about 4 hours but they got me in without an appointment and fixed the problem. I would say it was a success. I was never given a timeframe on diagnostic or how long for repair. I would have liked that. Even an estimate. But I could have bugged them. That's not my style. Overall, in a pinch, it's an option.

Or are you telling me I've driven significantly faster and harder in these last 2 weeks that it has suddenly worn them down that much? Had this been addressed as an issue last time, I would have gotten my tires fixed before taking it back to get inspected. But I was not told that, and now I've had my time wasted this weekend. Not only that but I now I have reason to believe I'm being ticked and ripped off, because how all of the sudden are my tires no longer passing, when 2 weeks ago they did. You will save yourself 10-20 dollars instead of letting them sell you one. And I have to be honest, they usually try and sell me things before they are needed. Since my one car is older, I'm going to buy it when it's needed. The employees are nice and fast. Maybe a little rugged for some but that's with any car shop. This differs quite a bit from the one-time auto inspection and biennial emissions test that I am used to in Maryland. After spending the better part of Friday, updating my driver's license, title, and registration, I figured I might as well knock out the state inspection and just be finished with this. I called Jiffy Lube and they kindly informed that while they do accept walk-in appointments for the state inspection, the do not accept state inspection appointments after 4pm. I settled on going in first thing Saturday morning. I left my house at 7:45amish so I would arrive a few minutes before opening. I arrived about a minute after they opened and ended up being the fifth car in the line. They told me that there would be a two-hour wait. I ended up waiting in my car for over two hours, and then waited another hour as my car was serviced. The technician completing the inspection was kind enough to let me know that while I had removed the MD tag in the rear of my vehicle, I had forgotten to remove the MD tag in the front of my vehicle. He removed it for me and I passed the auto and emissions inspection. I paid a little over $90 for the auto inspection, emissions test, and stickers. While I was not happy with the long wait times, or the information that this type of inspection needs to be completed annually, I was fairly pleased with the customer service and would very likely return for similar services in the future. I removed a star for the very small waiting room and out of order bathroom.

I brought my car in late May to get my rear driver's side tire replaced. During the visit, staff…read moreinsisted I also needed a brake replacement in order to pass inspection, which I had done there as well. When I later took my car to the dealership for a routine inspection, it failed -- because the tire Mavis installed was a street tire, while all three of my other tires were off-road tires. Mismatched tire types across an AWD vehicle is a serious issue, and I was specifically told at Mavis that it would not cause any damage to my AWD system. That assurance turned out to be false: the mismatch caused the drivetrain to bind, and my rear differential gears ground down from the offset, resulting in real mechanical damage. I ended up having to replace all four tires and now have to deal with repairing the differential damage -- an expense and inconvenience that should never have happened if the correct tire had been installed the first time, or if I'd been given accurate information about the risk.

They very obviously kicked or hit one of my lights to dislodge it then charged me to fix it threatening to fail the inspection otherwise. THIS MECHANIC WILL DAMAGE YOUR VEHICLE AND EXTORT PAYMENT FOR REPAIR; GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! TO top it off the two highschoolers they have working the counter frequently would go to the back to hid on their phones while a line of customers formed. The mechanic had to stop repairs and tell them to get back into the office to assist!
