I've had a craving for pizza for quite a while now and I couldn't resist any longer. I was out driving around to relieve the boredom and came across Gino's Famous Pizza. It was a bit late for lunch and too early for dinner so they only had two slices left, Meat Lover's and Canadian. This loaded slice of Meat Lover's was a tad salty but otherwise pretty good. the pizza here is literally the best pizza I have ever had. my personal favourite is the pepperoni pizza, it is so savoury.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it just didn't hit the mark for me. I ordered 1 Large Single Topping Special & 1 Large 3 Topping Special What really brought the pizza down was the fact that it lacked sauce, making it pretty dry, and the cheese was a bit undercooked. read more

The first time I had a pizza fron here it was during a pot luck for work. I saw someone bring in pizza and didn't think much of it since pizza is such a common thing I eat. After I had my first bite my eyes widened and I thought to myself; where has this pizza been all my life. The pizza was a meat lovers pizza. Love the crispy bacon on this meat lovers pizza. I usually don't eat the crust but the crust here is amazing. For a large meat lovers it came to $17 bux and change tax included. After an extremely trying day of shopping in these Covid-19 times, my son and I just needed to order a pizza. I convinced him to try Gino's Famous Pizza. Well, the Pickering location doesn't seem to be part of the on-line ordering section of the franchise, but that was OK, since I could call them and place an order, give my credit card number, and have the delivery person just drop it at the door. Social Distance is good, and the fact that they weren't part of the big franchise ordering system gave me the confidence to believe that this was a local place, that might actually serve up a pizza with some character. I was right, to a 4 star extent. My son ordered his classic - extra large, cheese pizza. No other toppings. The pizza arrived exactly when they said it would, and, eating a slice right away, I felt that this was a cut above our usual. Well, I should probably say a slice above the standard pizza (here, I will not name the names of various multinational or standard suburban pizza companies). Before writing this review, however, I had to wait for the verdict from my son, the true connoisseur of a cheese pizza. He munched away thoughtfully, saying, "The crust is good. Very flavorful and still somewhat crispy. The cheese is fine, and the sauce has a nice little nip." Now, this is from a guy who orders cheese pizza on the regular, from large-chain take out pizza places, so I am taking him at his word (aside from the fact that I found it quite tasty myself). "Definitely, order from here again," he said, as he reached for a fourth slice. Good thing that we ordered the jumbo size. If you are in Pickering, craving a pizza, order it now. I'm not sure that it is worth a drive from further out, but it is pretty darn good for Pickering. Now it's not Aunty's Pizza, which is just epic and full of character, but today my son just wanted the standard, not too much character, but just enough. Hence, the four stars. Pizza is overpriced and mine barely had enough tomato sauce. I got 1 large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms, total was $17. The crust is thin here so you need to order more if you're planning to feed a family of 4. Customer service is horrible, the male owner has a nasty "don't care" attitude. The unfortunate truth of suburban Toronto is that it's dominated by pizza pizza. An establishment which has more flavour in the cardboard of it's box than in it's pizza. However, hidden in places are gems like Ginos. Places where the crust is edeible and the pizza tastes good. The pizza manages to be both affordable and delicious, the store is take out, but the people are nice enough. Its defintely a good place to get pizza in pickering, and I recommend getting pizza here if you are in the area. Though I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

The pizza here is beyond salty. You'll need to take care not to wear nice clothing when entering this establishment due to the grease from the pizzas. It's counter service, a couple of tall stools to sit on if you wish, but clearly designed for take-out. The service is good, but the pizza is too expensive for the quality. I was disappointed. I ordered a medium-sized 3 topping pickup. It came to 18 bucks. While i was there i noticed they had a special that i wasnt told when i called for a large walk in 3 topping for 12.99. I askwd him if he wouod honour the special for my medium. He would not honour.it. I thought it was really sneaky especially after i brought it up. I wont be going there again. I can't give their pizza any more stars than 2. I ordered half cheese and half cheese & pepperoni. It wasn't good. It was coated in grease and very salty. Pizza Nova or Domino's beat this place in flavor and I'm not even a huge fan of those. read more

Good service and a very average slice of pizza. Grabbed two slices to go, pepperoni and a meat lovers. Lots of toppings especially on the meat lovers but flavor was nothing special. Very light on the sauce which didn't have a whole lot of zip to it either. The price was right, the two large slices came to about $6.50 but that doesn't make much difference if the pizza is nothing special. I've been ordering delivery from this location for years. I find the quality definitely exceeds that of pizza pizza and the other big chains. Another good thing about their delivery is that it is very fast. It is very common for me to get my pizza within 20 minutes of ordering which is just great. One thing to note - I have dropped by there in person and I think that the quality of the slices you get in store is below that of the delivery. The slices, while big, are very thin and the toppings and cheese falls off easily. But my recommendation is that this is a solid choice for delivery pizza. read more

So I work for a cabinet refinishing company in a different town. While onsite my manager and I decided to order some pizza for dinner. We waited about 50 minutes, then called them to see where our pizza was. The lady on the phone said she had written our cell number down wrong and the delivery guy had already visited the site and rung the doorbell and after no answer left. She then said that "he is angry" about having to go back. We were a little confused about why we didn't see this delivery guy through the translucent stain glass doors of the house or hear the doorbell. A little offended my manager said that this delivery guy keep he attitude in check or he wouldn't receive a tip. The lady immediately told us that the delivery guy refused to deliver, to which we agreed we didn't want it anymore anyway. I'd like to add that after this we checked the doorbell to see if maybe we didn't hear it, the doorbell is SO LOUD, you can hear it in the driveway, they didn't even show up to this house! read more

Ordered a pizza and ponzarotto. They told me 45 min. And didn't show up for 2 hours and 10 min. They forgot the extra sauce and the food was 2 out of 10. I told the delivery guy he should be offering me a free pizza or something he just shrugged and said they were busy. I used to use these guys but that was the last time. I called tonight to inquire about specials as I have a number of people working at the house.I asked about a couple of different menu options, not far off of what we would normally order. When the the staff member gave me the total for the order it was $ 8.00 over what we would normally pay, he said it was the delivery charge and if I didn't want to pay it on top of the tip for the driver I should pick up. When I explained I couldn't pick up, he told me to stop wasting his time. "all of which he is paid for I'am sure",, at any rate after hanging up the phone and stewing over his ignorance, I called back and identified myself as having previously called. I asked if he was the business owner, he replied "no" and asked why I wanted his name, I did respond by telling him that I would be making some phone calls. Regardless of the product (which is always 60-90 minutes for delivery) there is no excuse for poor customer service. The name he gave me was Ren-ee... I certainly hope the owner reads these reviews as it will save me a trip out there to visit them. read more
