The restaurant is nicely decorated with ample seating. Not sure why I've never tried this place until now. We ordered the fish cakes which were quite tasty. Even my 8 year old daughter liked it. We also had pad thai medium spicy. The pad thai was dry just the way I like it but it was mild not spicy. No matter, I just asked for the chili powder which is pretty spicy. We also had the red curry with chicken which has a very nice flavor. My daughter had the shrimp fried rice which was so good! Everything tasted good and fresh and we will definitely be back. I tried really hard to like this place but the food is average at best (I'm being generous). Service was terrible - we had a waitress who was barely taking care of us and in the middle of our lunch she left for her break and left us there unattended. 20 mins later another waiter showed up. What really gets me is that we were 5 persons and they added an automatic 18% tip!! WTF!! Who does that??? I wouldn't mind if the service was great but it simply wasn't. The pad see ew here is so good. You can really taste the wok pan fried noodles and it's the perfect balance of sweet and savory. My favorite appetizers are the fried cheese rolls and especially the fried soft shell crab! Generally duck curry can be a hit or miss for me so I'm super picky where I order it but this place makes a solid duck curry. Also highly recommended their crab fried rice. They use high quality chunky crab meat and not stringy meat with pieces of shell I've experienced with other places. read more

We live near by so we frequent this restaurant , we ordered 2 dishes , chicken red curry & the chicken pad Thai . The red curry was good , but the pad Thai continue to get messed up. The flavor is very tasty but the noodle is way over cooked and thus the noodles just break apart when you eat them . The red curry was good, we love it . I don't live in the area but a friend does so while we were playing Pokémon Go we decided to stop here. Omg this place is amazing. I encourage everyone to go at lunch. The lunch specials are incredible. You also get a roll and salad with it which is a huge plus because the salad dressing is FREAKING AMAZING. It wasn't the usual flavor you'd get at a Thai restaurant but a refreshing citrus ginger that makes your tastebuds sing especially during this hot hot weather. You can customize the spice level and they up it properly without loosing the flavor of the meal. I just can't get over that salad dressing. It was just so tasty. read more

Brought the family for dinner. I am from Malaysia and been to Thailand multiple time, so I feel I know good Thai food. We loved this place. Curry, very good. Pad Thai, very good. Pad Se Ew, wonderful. Charcoal Pork, very good. I should have taken picture but we ate it all too fast. Lovely staff and good atmosphere. Complete lack of customer service. My wife and I stood at entrance for about 10 minutes without anyone greeting us. Walked up to the reception desk where the host was on the phone... we stood there for a few minutes, not interrupting him. He hung up the phone, started typing on his screen, completely ignoring us. Then, he looked at us, said nothing and answered the phone. This is when we decided enough was enough and left. The food here is pretty good. We had an assortment of food today. In a hidden place in Katy, the food and service is pretty good. Staff was super friendly. The shrimp basil fried rice was super yummy, as well as the masamo curry was delicious and so was the pad se ew was pretty good. We had also ordered the sampler and the shaggy dog. I wasn't that impressed with it as much. If these were great like the main dish, I would have given the place a 5. The meat in the dumplings and egg rolls had a taste of freezer burn... everything else on the place was good. The shaggy dog had good flavor but not the best I had. read more

The best dish so far is the pineapple chicken rice. But what I really wanted to comment on is their customer service. We used the DoorDash app to have food delivered and when we realized that we recurved the wrong order, the restaurant sent the correct order with one of their own employees. Love their pad Kee mao and Tom yum soup! Staff is friendly as well. We usually come on Sundays and it's not too crowded. They have plenty of tvs with sports to watch on them. I want to try more things on the menu because everything I've tried is yummy. read more

Ordered through door dash and the order was wrong. I asked for no cabbage in the crystal noodle soup but they left out the NOODLES instead. The whole POINT of ordering the crystal noodle soup is the noodles! The mistake was made by the restaurant so I contacted Ginger Thai directly and the woman who answered the phone was rude and basically told me to call Door Dash and they would figure it out and hung up on me. Before she hung up on me, I asked repeatedly for her name so I could let door dash know what happened and she refused to give it to me. My favorite Thai place in Katy for sure! I always get their shrimp fried rice and sampler. The portions are good and fair for the price. I love the chicken satay and the shrimp that comes with the fried rice are huge! I always recommend this place for a casual night out, or a formal get together. The inside is a bit too cold for my liking though, so if you get cold easily bring something to wrap yourself in-- though this is no biggie! The best sushi and Thai food in the area but NOT WORTH an 1 hour 35 for an online order I placed at 6:24pm tonight. No food is that good that you should have to wait that long for it. According to your website and online ordering system our order was ready at 7:04pm. When I walked in at 7:15pm it still wasn't ready. After waiting another 45min inside your restaurant with another 20 patrons moaning about the same thing our food was finally ready at 8:01pm and not an apology in sight. This place used to be very good. Lately, the quality of the food changed. I even asked the waitress if the chef changed. Our last visit, I got sick after eating there. The food was horrible. We ordered the child's fried rice with shrimp, the rice came burnt. I also ordered lettuce wrap, and it tasted not fresh, leftovers. I am very sensitive to food, and if I eat food that is not fresh and reheated I get sick. Be try disappointed as it used to be good. We were seated immediately and had very limited time to eat. Our server was very efficient and we got out in perfect time to make our show! My go-to Thai food is always Thai fried rice or some kind of green curry dish and my husband always gets Pad See Eew, but we switched this time around and absolutely loved our dishes! The pad see eew had the perfect amount of sweet and savory flavor while the fried rice had the perfect amount of seasoning! We finished off our meal with coconut ice cream and sticky rice. I tried this place on a recommendation from a co-worker and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered Pad Thai tofu, cheese rolls and mango w/sticky rice. Everything had great flavor and I liked the green sauce that came with the cheese rolls. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the way they cooked the tofu for the pad thai; I've had better tofu at other Thai restaurants. Located near Cinco Ranch, this Thai restaurant belong to the original owner of Ginger Thai located in Gessner. I hadn't visited the one in Gessner in a long time because personally I believed it isn't as good as it used to be. I was glad that Ginger Thai didn't fail to disappoint me. The menu is quite big and has a vary of thai dishes. There is also a kid menu so there is really something for everyone. I've been here for both lunch and dinner. I will write the dinner menu and meals are significantly better than the lunch menu. It's more spicy and the flavor are just perfect. Lunch menu is less spicy and personally I didn't enjoy as much. I will write the mango salad dressing that came with the salad was great but not enough for me to journey for lunch (for dinner yes!). The services for both lunch and dinner was attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend to come check it out. (There is no lunch time appetizer buffet) read more

My wife and I ate at Ginger Thai for the very first time tonight. Great little place! Nicely decorated and the food is great. Food is almost as good as Khun Noi which used to be on Mason Road. Very authentic Thai food. We ordered Pad Thai and Ginger Chicken and both were very good. I had them make my Pad Thai spicey but it was not spicey to me. Next time I will ask for Hot. Service was excellent and timely. Manager/owner came over to check on us and our water was refilled quickly. When we want Thai food, we will go back to Ginger Thai. read more

We normally get pad Thai which we did again, however you're given an extensive list of options to personalize your Pad Thai. I chose to replace the noodles with broad Pad Se Ewe noodles. Fantastic! This place was pretty good! I went with some hard to please family members and even they enjoyed it. I ordered the red curry shrimp and red curry chicken, I'm not a Thai expert but I've had better. The flavor wasn't what I'm used to. On the other hand, the Tambran Duck, Ginger chicken and Crab fried Rice were all superb. Service was great and portions were generous.
