Last week, the answer was "when we are busy in the restaurant, we don't answer the phone." And putting in an order for take out now would likely take 30-40 minutes. So I opted for something else that day and share so others don't have to experience the frustration (and amazement) at a restaurant just not answering the phone when they are busy. I understand food ingredients are more expensive, service sector staffing is difficult and perhaps they were just a chef down that day. But at least make up an excuse, don't just share in the most cynical of ways, we just ignore phone orders when it gets busy.

The reason to go is the fried chicken but you can order skinless if you want to behave. They also sell biscuits and multiple sizes of cole slaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, and potato salad. You can dine in at one of probably ten tables and a surprising number of people do. But for me it is about a bucket and some sides for a picnic or that quick decision when plans to make dinner at home go sideways. Parking for 10 or so cars available in front and it is rarely full for long if at all. As a college town, Athens' restaurant scene typically caters to the students. And Miller's is definitely student friendly. But while the students flock to the latest thing (new Cane's on Court Street) the locals know that Miller's is Athens true chicken king. The family business has earned loyalty over the generations. And just know, if you are back in Athens looking for some chicken nostalgia in late summer, make sure you don't land on County Fair Week in August. That is the one week a year they are closed at Miller's.

There are a few tables that are 4-tops and then some round tables in the middle that seat about 6. I was quite surprised that the prices were as high as they were. I probably would not go back again, but I would order the burger to go. I really hope this place makes it and that maybe they can start advertising to some of the tourist coming into Logan even though it's a bit of a drive for them. It's a good restaurant for the area.
