Doctor Gina and her staff are very professional and qualified. I had to have a root canal the day doctors offices were supposed to shut down during the pandemic. Doctor Gina told me to call the office number if I had any pain. I called and she referred me to someone who took care of my root canal. Doctor Gina always tells me "You should never be in pain. Call me if you're in pain." read more

It may sound odd but I have never had an issue going to the dentist. After having major dental surgery I was referred to DMD Higgins. The first few visits went well, her staff was fun and friendly (well some were). I quickly discovered that they do the work, Gina just walks around dictating what MUST be done. When she began to dictate what I needed for my mouth, It rubbed me the wrong way... I'm pretty sure that I know my mouth better than others. But when I made suggestions she wasn't having it, scolding me like I was her child or an employee. I will NOT be returning. There are so many dentists in Lexington that will personally do the work, and she can't control where I go. read more

I moved here from Los Angeles a few months ago and am fortunate to have found Dr. Higgins' practice. Dr. Higgins and her staff are incredibly friendly, caring and professional. They have me set up on a regime including keeping my teeth healthy with my custom night-guard, for people like me who grind their teeth at night. I would recommend her to anyone. Everything is state-of-the-art and I can honestly say (coming from LA) she is the "Beverly Hills" of dentists here in Lexington. read more

I am very grateful that my parents instilled a love for oral hygiene and health at a young age. Confession: I love going to the dentist :) Nice, strong, healthy teeth are becoming more and more rare. Upon receiving a referral from a coworker for a dentist, I promptly made an appointment after hearing her great experience with Dr. Higgins. The office had a boutique feel to it: modern and chic. The staff, especially the receptionist, were attentive and dedicated to getting patients in quickly. Since I was a new patient, I feared the paperwork/intake process would be treacherous territory. I was pleasantly surprised that the office had all my information set up and I simply only had to sign a few forms. After a brief wait, I was called back to begin my appointment. The dental hygienist, Rita, was an angel! Very personable and dedicated to answer any questions I had during my cleaning, polishing, and X-Rays. To conclude my visit, Dr. Higgins spent time with me on how we can continue to enhance my smile. I felt very comfortable talking to her because I could tell she cared about me as a person, not another billable expense for insurance. I respect her efforts to empower her patients with worthwhile knowledge that applies to their specific needs. Per her recommendation, I started using the Sonicare Diamond Plus electric toothbrush. I love the results I have received from using the product. It literally feels like a dental visit in your mouth twice a day! :) I look forward to visiting Dr. Higgins office twice a year. The care, customer service, and dedication to excellence are strong reasons why I highly recommend and endorse Dr. Gina Johnson Higgins. The Euclid Ave. address listed above is incorrect. For more than forty years, I feared the dentist and hated when I had to go. Now I don't mind going at all. If you have fears that are keeping you from dental work or maintenance, go here. They don't lecture, shame, or judge. They do listen, explain, and offer options for minimizing pain and fears. I wish I had found this practice years ago. Dr. Higgins and her staff are my heroes. They did what I was sure no one could; they made visiting the dentist a good experience. Edit (12/13/17) Where did I get this amazing doughnut? Well, at my dentist's office, of course! How is this practice not listed as #1 in Lexington? Every single person here is caring, compassionate, professional, and accommodating. If you are afraid, whether of pain or judgment, just GO. Look, they have doughnuts...how scary can it be? read more

Dr. Gina Johnson Higgins is a great dentist. The most caring and compassionate dentist I have ever gone to. I started going to her several years ago when she was on Euclid Avenue. I was going to another dentist in Lexington at the time and one Friday afternoon I chipped a tooth and it was giving me quite a bit of pain. I called my dentist's office and told the receptionist my problem and didn't think I could stand the pain until Monday. To which she replied "the Doctor didn't have any time to see me, but he could see me Monday afternoon." Needless to say That made me quite unhappy, especially since I had been his patient for 5 years. I didn't know what I was going to do. I got my insurance card out to see what dentists were recommended by them and I saw Dr. Higgins' name and her office was just down the street from where I worked. I called and she told me to come in and she would take a look at my tooth and see what she could do to help me. Needless to say, I ran there as fast as I could. She recommended a root canal be done (which my regular dentist had been suggesting but never got it done). Dr. Higgins said she would do preliminary work for that and I could come back on Monday and she would complete the process. When I left the office I had a prescription for pain and her CELL phone number in case I had any trouble before Monday. I had to call her Saturday afternoon and she met me at her office and she took care of it. She went beyond the call of duty and she wasn't my dentist - BUT SHE BECAME MY DENTIST THAT DAY!!! I had to have a tooth pulled last Tuesday and Dr. Higgins personally called me on Wednesday to see if I was doing ok and had me come in today (Wednesday) to check it. What more can I say? She is a rare person in today's professional world. read more

I have to give a big shout out of appreciation to my dentist Dr. Gina Johnson Higgins. I had a dental emergency right before a very important event and she went out of her way to "fix it" immediately despite her busy schedule.
