This is the set of "Premium Dentures" I got from Affordable Dentures in Lexington, KY. This set costed me almost $1900 with a total of $4200 including extractions, a temp set, and this set. The pictures say it all.
This is the second set because the first set that they made me, the teeth were pushed so far forward I couldn't even bite and my lip looked like a monkey's mouth. So they offered to remake them and this is what I ended up with the second time.
I had about three wax try-ins. I was told every time that the wax try-in was to judge the placement of the teeth not the fit or the gums as the was was going to be bulky. I told them also EVERY TIME that I did not want the teeth pushed forward and I wanted them back over my natural gums so that my mouth would look normal.
When I went for him my last adjustment on May 12 to have the gums cut down because they were so tall that I couldn't keep my lips closed, the assistant proceeded to tell me that the dentist said that he couldn't cut the gums down anymore and I should have said something during my wax try-in.
I told her that I did say something every time and I was told every time that the wax try and was not for the gums or the fit, it was for the placement of the teeth.
As you can see in the pictures there is acrylic left everywhere between the teeth. The denture is very poorly made. The gum detail consists of apparently touching the gums with a Dremel and making a few little holes.
There is a gap between the front two teeth and the gums are crooked between them, which you can see is not in the wax try-in. That picture of me wearing them was my last wax try-in on the day that I approved the teeth and then when I received them.
The front teeth were more rounded than I liked also so I asked them at an adjustment appointment to make them straight. Do they look straight? Nope, they're jagged.
They apparently don't see a problem with the way they sent these teeth home with me. This is not good craftsmanship. They should never send someone home with a pair of dentures like this, especially when I spent $1,900 on a set of teeth to try to regain my confidence.
I am very disappointed. I was rushed out of their office with these horrible dentures and I feel like I wasted my hard earned money. read more
