For some reason this morning after rescheduling my appointment earlier this week due to electrical issues in the dentist office. I made an appointment first thing in the morning at 8 AM on a Friday when I show up after driving 45 minutes from Lexington for my appointment and give them my insurance they say that they cannot accept the insurance and that they have to reschedule me another month out in advance. Instead of calling and telling me this before, I drove the 45 minutes I had to get to Georgetown and find out in person afterwards. Again, I've never necessarily had any issues except for over pricing and insurance, but I feel like this could've used a phone call and save saved everybody a lot of time

But I was taking care of a dying mother so I really didn't take time to ask too many questions so when I went back 6 months later I asked about those and I was just told my insurance didn't pay for that. So essentially they were letting them right out of my head until they could give me the dentures that Medicaid will pay for. I found a way to pay for a grand out of pocket to get crowns put on to the teeth that needed it. And those didn't even get sealed properly you can feel the seam with the tongue. I didn't know that shouldn't be how it is. I went back to ask a dentist who was substituting the day I was there about why I didn't feel exactly right he tapped on my tooth, to ask me if it hurt, and when it didn't he said you're fine then. Good to go. I recommend going to third and smiles over by kroger. They're not cheap but they actually do quality work. Mortenson messed me up very well. If I ever end up having to be on Medicaid again, I'll do something else or just not go at all. You might as well not. Let them right out of your head until you need dentures. That's what they're going to do.

Because I wanted to go to church on Sunday, I used dental glue to put them back on the partial. I did pretty good, but they just weren't quite right. I called ThoroughDent Smiles and got an appointment with my dentist who I had seen before, Dr. Neda. She thought I had glued them back together pretty good, but I explained to her that they were really old, and I was interested in getting a new partial depending on cost and whether I had to use that goop to do the impression. She told me about a different way they do partials, where they don't use the metal, but a plastic that is not rigid. And it would be cheaper than the metal kind. And they could do the x-ray instead of the goop! I said sign me up! They did the x-ray thing, and I didn't even gag, because they told me a special tip about putting salt on the back of your tongue-and you don't gag. It works, so now I carry salt in my car, but they have some there if you need it. Special shout out to Reagan who was the assistant who was very kind and patient! Dr. Neda was so kind and told me that I would probably hate the partial at first and then I would love it. She was right in that the first time I put it in, it hurt a little and then when we tried to get it back out, I thought they were going to have to climb up on the chair with me with pliers to remove them. They worked on it a little and soon they were not a problem, and I love them! With my old partial, I was very self-conscious and felt like the teeth were a little too big and would never smile with my whole mouth. Now they are so natural looking, you would never know they are not my teeth. They did an excellent job matching the color and I can now smile with my whole mouth!!! Another shout out to Keri who helped me with my follow-up appointment. We had a great talk. And I can't stop without giving a shout out to the ladies working at the front desk who are always friendly and willing to explain everything and help you out. I had a crown fall out and I needed it to be cemented back into place. I called several local…read moredentists and was told I would have to have a complete cleaning, x-rays and an evaluation before having my crown glued back into place, they all said it would cost $300+ I called Aspen, was told I would need to complete similar pretreatment guidelines, but the x-rays and evaluation would be free and the price was not quoted for cementing the crown but it would be discussed after the crown was judged reusable in the Dentists opinion. So I took a chance, I explained I do not have a job or insurance now but they took my x-rays and a Dentist looked at the pictures and my crown and said they could and would help me. The business manager told me the price- just a little over $100. I thought that was very fair. I received compassionate and friendly attention from all of the people I encountered. The Dentist was not in a hurry to rush me out of the office and explained my x-rays to me, showed me an area on my crown she needed to clean and carefully glued it back in to place. I was extremely satisfied and would return for dental care.
