Because I wanted to go to church on Sunday, I used dental glue to put them back on the partial. I did pretty good, but they just weren't quite right. I called ThoroughDent Smiles and got an appointment with my dentist who I had seen before, Dr. Neda. She thought I had glued them back together pretty good, but I explained to her that they were really old, and I was interested in getting a new partial depending on cost and whether I had to use that goop to do the impression. She told me about a different way they do partials, where they don't use the metal, but a plastic that is not rigid. And it would be cheaper than the metal kind. And they could do the x-ray instead of the goop! I said sign me up! They did the x-ray thing, and I didn't even gag, because they told me a special tip about putting salt on the back of your tongue-and you don't gag. It works, so now I carry salt in my car, but they have some there if you need it. Special shout out to Reagan who was the assistant who was very kind and patient! Dr. Neda was so kind and told me that I would probably hate the partial at first and then I would love it. She was right in that the first time I put it in, it hurt a little and then when we tried to get it back out, I thought they were going to have to climb up on the chair with me with pliers to remove them. They worked on it a little and soon they were not a problem, and I love them! With my old partial, I was very self-conscious and felt like the teeth were a little too big and would never smile with my whole mouth. Now they are so natural looking, you would never know they are not my teeth. They did an excellent job matching the color and I can now smile with my whole mouth!!! Another shout out to Keri who helped me with my follow-up appointment. We had a great talk. And I can't stop without giving a shout out to the ladies working at the front desk who are always friendly and willing to explain everything and help you out. Most victims tend to eventually lose their teeth and end up with dentures. This patient was referred to Dr. McLaurin for some extractions. She is a disabled person and experiences chronic pain daily from many symptoms. She had to reschedule an appt once with his office. They didn't like it and when she rescheduled it the office scheduler gave her a MONDAY appt for spitefulness and retaliation knowing their office is closed on Mondays. Once when she was there for a procedure, we heard Dr. McLaurin make a derogatory remark about the patient just outside the door. This behavior is totally unethical and unacceptable. To mistreat a sick person is very low. I wouldn't take a dog to Dr. McLaurin. I would hope some of his office staff is above this level of humanity.

Now fast forward to the present, I had to get "another" filling done and this time the Doctor hit a lingual nerve in lower left side of my mouth and it caused my left side of my tongue to be numb. I was REALLY mad.... then on top of that I was told that it could take weeks to months for my tongue to heal. And to top it all of I was also told that he didn't do anything thing wrong? After that I just had to leave, I was getting ready to go off on him. I will NEVER EVER let the Doctor there work on my mouth EVER AGAIN. It's not worth the pain and trouble.

I was on Medicaid for a few years while taking care of my dying mother. I noticed that the bare…read moreminimum was always done, and when the hygienist asked about some cavities I had that needed filling it was slid over very quickly. But I was taking care of a dying mother so I really didn't take time to ask too many questions so when I went back 6 months later I asked about those and I was just told my insurance didn't pay for that. So essentially they were letting them right out of my head until they could give me the dentures that Medicaid will pay for. I found a way to pay for a grand out of pocket to get crowns put on to the teeth that needed it. And those didn't even get sealed properly you can feel the seam with the tongue. I didn't know that shouldn't be how it is. I went back to ask a dentist who was substituting the day I was there about why I didn't feel exactly right he tapped on my tooth, to ask me if it hurt, and when it didn't he said you're fine then. Good to go. I recommend going to third and smiles over by kroger. They're not cheap but they actually do quality work. Mortenson messed me up very well. If I ever end up having to be on Medicaid again, I'll do something else or just not go at all. You might as well not. Let them right out of your head until you need dentures. That's what they're going to do.

I told them I just wanted a regular cleaning but they refused to do that, they would only do the specialized treatment cleaning, and sent me on my way. So glad that I did not fall for this scam after now reading the reviews. Note, when the dentist looked at my teeth she said that my teeth looked great and was impressed with my cleaning technique. I guess I did not need a cleaning after all. Can we just go to a dentist to get our teeth cleaned? It should not be that big of a deal.

Basically, I had a bad cavity on my front tooth. They told me it was merely a coffee stain, even though I don't even drink coffee. They refused to treat this cavity, yet they would clean my teeth and perform extractions and repairs. Then without warning, they disappeared. I found a new dentist. Thankfully, the new dentist recognized the difference between a stain and a cavity and saved my front tooth.
