He was going to the big box home improvement store to find a replacement when I suggested he should search out a locally owned cabinet professional. I found Cabinet World on Google maps. As soon as we walked in the door I knew we were in the right place. The cabinets and decor were impressive. The owner approached us right away. We explained that we needed to replace these cheaply made parts and she went above and beyond to try to help. She searched her back room for parts she thought would work. She looked up the contact information for the cabinet maker even though it wasn't a company that she had any relationship with. It was a busy day in her store and she didn't need to take the time to help when she had paying customers waiting. She was sincerely in it to help and she did. Although we didn't make a purchase that day, Cabinet World would certainly be my choice for cabinets in any remodel. It's clear to me that the store's philosophy is service above all. But on top of that, the displays pushed the limits of imagination. I saw samples of kitchens and bathrooms that made me want to rip my house to the plaster and start over. They did the siding on two buildings for us and ended up walking off the job because we complained about how crappie their work was and said we were too picky - we were the PAYING customer and we paid a lot. They had to tear off a completed wall of siding because it was off by 2 1/4" from one end to the other. Also hung two windows on one wall and one window was an inch lower than the other. Terrible workmanship. Corner cuts could have been done better by a fourth grader. We could go on and on. Never put the vent guard on for the dryer and birds got in and made a nest and almost started the house on fire. They are very sloppy, dirty and dishonest. What would they do to an old couple that knows no better? The only time Geoff came around to check on the job was when he wanted more money. Never tried to resolve the issues. Seems like he would rather forfeit the balance due than have to correct all the problems. We paid a down payment and got a very vague contract that wasn't signed and had no completion date. This started in September and by January they still didn't finish. Should be ashamed at how this was handled. Buyer be ware!!
