Used an unlimited monthly option on my Camry until it was totaled. When I got a new car, the employee told me he canceled my previous membership and transferred it to the new car's sticker. A week later, a different employee told me my sticker wasn't active and explained stickers couldn't be "transferred", so I had to pay for a new one, doubling the cost. I understand employees make mistakes. I wasn't mad at them. It was the way management handled it (guy with glasses), talking down to me and not allowing me to say a word or explain what happened. I would like to leave a review about this express car wash. After using this express car wash, visible vertical scratches appeared on the entire right side of my car. I approached the managers of this car wash with my concerns about the scratches and explained that we had just purchased a new car a month ago and immediately booked it here because I already had an account. However, they suggested that I might have caused the scratches myself and refused to answer any further questions. I want to say that the managers are negligent towards their customers and refuse to listen to any complaints. They claim that everything is in order and has been recently inspected. How can an express car wash get five stars? It's the experience. The basic car wash is a reasonable $11. There's lots of ways to be upsold but no one pushes it on you. Not sure what to do? They'll explain it to you -- especially if you don't notice the smallish sign with instructions. Our car had sap on it which didn't completely come off after going through. I didn't mind but they told us to go through again. Whaaaaat? The second time was the charm. Sap be gone. I've been coming here for years with my black car! The place has been generous & always allowed me to leave with my car clean. I tip & I'm always super nice. I mentioned to the employee that my might need to go through twice b/c of so much dirt. The employee agreed. After the wash, my car was still dirty. The manager came out & used very poor customer service skills & said "no"! He argued with me about how my car IS clean & when I wiped & showed him the dirt on several places on my car he said "we can NOT run your car through again"! He argued & even tried to upsell me to a monthly subscription! The role modeling he showed his employees was NOT good. He gave me a phone number to complain to a person, but that is only an answering machine. They don't care.... So sad. Getting my car washed today should have been my easiest chore of my day, but instead I'm writing a YELP review & hope this manager gets training to better deal with people. I paid for the $15 'Ultimate' car wash. Two young guys working, and two large buckets with car mops (one on each side) as you first enter. One guy disappeared while the other quickly and barely got the front of my car wet with a sprayer. Neither of them picked up the car mop and the results showed. I finish the wash and a lot of bird droppings remained on the windshield and dirt on the rear of the car. I drove back around and asked why they didn't brush off the bird doo and mop the car and got excuse after excuse; "We don't have to unless we think we need to." "You could've asked for it." "We'll do it if you tell us you need it" The only thing 'Ultimate' about this car wash was the co$t. Next time, $5 drive through gas station car wash will work just as good. read more

7/11/2024 Disabled senior widow. Car needed to be washed and waxed. Remember going Express Car Wash many years ago when it first opened. I only remembered something about putting the car in neutral when going through the was but nothing else. I checked the website for process information but there was none. Per the website, call if you have questions. So, I called but there was no live person who answered. You get directed back to the webpage to fill out a form and wait for a response. I had no idea of anyone every responds or how many days that may take. (I have coverage at home for only a couple of hours). Approx. 12:30 p.m. So, I drove to the car wash and upon entering the parking lot only saw vacuums and signs. There was no sign with directions of what to do, and no live person. As I sat there looking around, a boy/man in uniform was walking by the building, so I asked him "How do I get help?", and he said pull around (pointing to the direction of going into the washing machine). I was needing information of "how to" not wanting to go through the machine yet. I was uncertain of where he was leading me to so I asked "Someone will be there?" The boy/man yelled "If you are going to be that stressful, you can just LEAVE!". I told him I am disabled. I can't get out of my car. I saw someone come out from around the corner, then proceeded to him. Both this person and the one after were very nice. The first person has no business having a job with the public. Maybe today was the best day of his life, and every day after today will be worse and worse until he is disabled, in pain 24/7, and asks for help when someone will say to him "If you are going to be that stressful, you can just LEAVE!". read more

We started going up Gilroy Express wash to do our part to save water. We purchased an unlimited monthly car wash packages, the mid priced choice. I took a chance and thought I wouldn't use it to make worth our while. I may have to bump down to the lower priced monthly package but I haven't decided. I would only do that because of the price. The young people that work there have good customer service. They are very friendly and helpful! Always telling me to have a great day or nice evening. I really appreciate that from young people these days. I didn't vacuum my car the first few times that I used the car wash. I didn't know that tokens for the vacuum came with the car washes. I could use 2 or 3 or however many I needed. We have a dog so vacuuming the car is a big job. I've come by almost at Sunset and they were still open. The location is great and convenient. read more

That's hysterical and such a joke! Spent $17.00 for my car to be washed and I definitely didn't "experience the ultimate clean" and my car was not "cleaner, brighter or better than before". The staff that work there clearly don't give two craps if your car is clean when you come out the other end. Before you go through the car wash, the kids working are too busy talking to pay any attention whatsoever to hosing off your car- which is part of the car wash experience! Never again. My partner and I have had a membership with the Gilroy Express Wash since early 2017. We got our cars washed every other week or so and always had a good experience, until just recently. To get a wash, one must present their membership card to the employee on duty, who scans the card and waves you forward. My partner and I have always used the one account for both of our cars and this has never been a problem. But when I went in a few weeks ago, a new employee, a young man, scanned my card and told me that my car wasn't registered. I pointed out that we use the account, which we pay on time every month, for both cars, but he said it didn't matter and refused to allow me to wash my car. I figured he was new and let it go, and neither my partner nor I had any trouble washing our cars for the next month or so. Let me reiterate that you cannot get a car wash here without going through an employee, and no employee ever, in the three years I've had an account there, had ever said we couldn't use the same account for both cars. Then, I went in one day and this young man was there. I presented my card; he scanned it and moved on, then came back to me and banged on my window. Not tapped: banged. "This card isn't registered to this car," he said. I pointed out what I said above, about none of the other employees ever saying this was against the rules. "Give me your card," he said. "GIVE ME YOUR CARD." He proceeded to cancel our account. I went home and told my partner and they went down to talk to the manager and see what was going on. They never got the chance to ask. This young man saw them coming and headed them off, shouting that we had been stealing car washes and were no longer welcome, and no we couldn't talk to the manager and that if he ever saw "you bitches" here again, he would call the police. He then followed my partner back to their car to make sure they wouldn't go talk to anyone else. I hesitated to write share this story because it's perfectly likely that we made a mistake with our membership, but even if we did, not once were we ever corrected by any employee over a course of three years. Ultimately, I decided to share it because no one deserves to be treated like this. Shame on Gilroy Exppress Wash. Your employees are horrible people. read more

Such a shame! For many years I was a fan of this business, patronizing them with two of my vehicles. Their prices and the quality of their service is decent, but, as I had to find out the hard way, they have some serious issues with customer service (just look at the other Yelp reviews and draw your own conclusions). Recently - as of 2023- I have seen a significant deterioration in their customer service, to a point where employees of their business are disrespectful towards their customers and their manager (Kevin) does not respond to emails. During a recent wash, one of their employees did not offer guidance as I was entering the wash line (I did the aligning myself), and, when I opened my truck's window to point this out and to ask him to offer guidance he yelled at me "I'm not going to argue with you, move your truck forward!". Later that day I found the owner's name (John Logan) through a government source (because the employees refused to provide me with such information) and then I wrote an online message on their web site asking to speak with him. Since then, five days have passed and I never got a response from the owner. Today I went to speak with the operations manager (Kevin) who didn't apologize for what happened - he only stated that he had been on vacation last week. Quite frankly, I should had gotten an apology immediately and that would had changed things, but there is a level of dishonesty that I have sensed in this business that makes me uncomfortable and as such I am done with them. There are plenty of other more honest, service driven places that will be happy to take my money. read more

I understand it's a drive thru car wash but it was terrible. My windshield still has the lining of spots from where my windshield wipers wipe. My husband needed a place for a carwash membership & since we just went to Trader Joe's for grocery, we decided to look around the area & this place popped up (we live 20 mins away in Hollister but because there's no carwash memberships in Hollister, we decided to see if Gilroy had any). Drove here in 1 vehicle & there were a long line (good news right cuz if it was empty then I'd be questioning their services). Had an employee walking around to each car to ask what services they're getting or checking their membership card & when he came up to us, he signed my husband up for the car wash. The wash was like your typical gas station car wash...except before you go into the wash tunnel, you'll encounter two employees standing outside, one checks you in & one sprays your car with high pressure water then you proceed to the 2 mins wash tunnel. Ok so we did all that, then when we got out of the tunnel, he parked & dried off his rims with a microfiber cloth. Then my husband decided to go for another wash round since it did say "unlimited wash" & he felt like it wasn't completely washed thoroughly so he took it for another round. When he got in line for another wash, the line employee said his card has been charged twice (for a honda & his Nissan). We drove in 1 car (Nissan) & there was a Honda in front of us during the first round of wash so they must've charged us for their service too. The employee told us to go ahead & wash another time then go park so we can talk to the manager. When we rolled up to the car tunnel, 1 of the 2 employees standing there shook his head when he saw our car like he was so disappointed that my husband wanted to wash again. No need for the nonverbal gesture, just check us in & do your job. So he did another wash, went to park & the manager said "the charge will eventually go away by itself, just give it a few days." Ok cool, so we left home. A few days later, husband still see it in his account for double charge so he gave the place a call, they were playing phone tag & manager called back once (missed call), only to leave a voicemail telling him what he said during the face to face encounter. Husband checked his statements, still no changes. He calls the place again, left multiple messages to figure out the issue but no call back except for that missed call. 2 weeks later, we went grocery shopping at TJ again & decided to drop by the place, talk to manager face to face & if this doesn't get resolve then we turn off the membership cuz this is not the right way to do business or keep your new customer. Apparently manager wasn't there for that day, so husband had to talk to that line employee & of course they gave him the same generic line he heard already & husband told him to turn off the membership since the way they do business is so messy here. 1 week later, still no changes to statement so now it's time to dispute charges to our bank. Yup, it didn't have to go this route as we've given them countless times to fix the issue but they have their priorities all screwed up, might as well call themselves thieves since they had no problem charging us $60 on our first time being there even tho we signed up for the $30 ultimate unlimited wash club but they can't refund us for what they screwed up on since they want to question us about driving 2 cars that day but in actuality we only drove the Nissan there. Never in my life have I ever seen such messy customer service so they definitely lost our business. Go here at your own risk & check your statements often because now we have to go through our bank since they don't want to refund us. read more

I had the monthly subscription to just drive in for washes. Several times I had to drive back through because the wash didn't remove the debris from the frog my car. On my most recent visit I am told they aren't using the card anymore; they want to put a sticker on my car. I don't want a sticker on my car, the employee was rude said they would not give me my card back. I asked several times. So I said I wanted to cancel. They billed me on this very day. A little feedback for the owner, I would really prefer that you put up "no smoking" signs in the vacuum area. Unfortunately while vacuuming out my car and having both doors open to my car, two girls pulled up and both were smoking. This is a machine-wash with staff on site. There are dollar vacuums for you to DIY your interior. They require tokens which the staff will sell you. $1 for like 3 minutes, I believe. Great value for a quick cleanup of your vehicle. Is this a hand wash? Nope. But it doesn't claim to be. You know going in exactly what you're paying for. It gets the job done quickly and cheaply. If you want an exterior detail, pay someone to detail your car. If you want your car washed quickly and cheaply, go here! If you wouldn't risk your car's paint/accessories going through a machine, then don't. For my family, it's been worth the risk and our Odyssey has been fine for five years now. read more

I love this place. It's right next to safeway on first street. The customer service by Steven is quality guaranteed. You just drive up to the front of the car wash entrance and you will be serviced there. We drove up and we're greeted by steven. He explained to is the different types of car washes they provided. There's regular, deluxe, and ultimate. We purchased the deluxe for a fair price of 8.99$ We had a coupon that was on the back of our safeway receipt. Normally it's 11.99$ so we saved $2. The car wash was great and so was the service. The best part was I never had to leave my car. BTW they have monthly car wash services. You pay monthly payments and get as many car washes as you WANT! I'm totally coming back for that deal. YOU CAN COME EVERYDAY if you want for only 20$ a month. *It's good if your on the run but I still prefer washing my own car ;-) read more

Regular price for that wash is $12.00. They also offer 1 free vaccum token too, so ask for it. One token is good for a 3 minute vacuum and you can suck a lot stuff up in 3 minutes. The guys are nice and they pre-rinse your car before it goes through the cycle. Just do your detail at home or in the parking lot. read more
