Broken mirror
Carolynn P.

Absolutely terrible experience and even worse management. I brought my car here for a simple wash, and the pressure from their machines was so strong it completely broke off my left side mirror. The sponge arm literally ripped it off right in front of me. At first, the manager Karla assured me they would cover the damage. She took photos, documented everything, and said their insurance company would handle it. I left thinking at least they were going to make things right. But a few days later, I got a call saying they were denying any responsibility and that I'd have to pay for the repairs myself. They completely backtracked and lied about their commitment to cover the damage. This place is poorly managed and takes zero accountability for the damage their equipment causes. Avoid this car wash at all costs--the risk is not worth it. They will damage your car and leave you on the hook for it.

Damage

Damaged my car two weeks ago and customer service has yet to get back to me. Paid $25 for a wash, was fine, appreciated the vacuums and towels but the lack of response from customer service regarding this damage is a dealbreaker for me.

Dirt in the back tale.

Quick, affordable, and great staff who come out to help dry your car after! Best car wash I've found in the area so far.

Got my car washed here for the first time after a friend recommended it, and it was definitely…read moreworth the drive from San Jose! I was pleasantly surprised by their reasonable prices since I'm so used to the much higher rates in San Jose for a basic car wash. I chose the Murphy car wash, and they did a great job. One thing that stood out was how thoroughly they cleaned my tires. My tires/rims looked better than they have after other car washes. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, I was very happy with the service and will definitely be coming back!

At this point what am I paying 45$ for? I asked them to fix it and they did a little but it was still dirty. When I got home I looked in the trunk and there was sand everywhere. They didn't even try to vacuum it. I was able to get rid of it myself by just taking the mat out and hitting it against the concrete. When I spoke with the manager he said "I can't give you a refund and sand is hard." I confirmed "are you refusing to give me a refund even though a service wasn't done well and almost not at all?" He said "yes I'm not an authorized ." I asked "arn't you the manager?" He said "I'm the assistant manger. The manger is already gone for the day." Then I asked "are you going to offer to ask for my contact information so he can get back to me?" He said "sure but we can't give refunds." I said "are you forcing me to have to call my credit card company to dispute this charge?" He said "yeah go ahead and do that." I will never come back to this place. Also they used a dirty rag to wipe both my floors and my dash. Horrible service and customer service.

I've since decided to do an updated review of this Arco station since my last one was back in…read moreNovember 2019. A lot has changed in nearly two years since I left my 1-star review. The reason for that review had to do with using debit/credit cards at the pump back then. It was a huge pain in the buttocks for sure. In fact, I was so upset I decided to use another station further away, yet 20 cents /gal more expensive. The convenience of using my card at the pump far trumps standing in really looong line inside Arco with only one cashier working, waiting to pay. I'm now happy to give a much better report. This Arco started accepting cards (all major debit/credit) cards accepted, with CHIP/PIN security, right at the pump! Also, the nice thing is there is no more annoying . 35 cent fee for using your bank card. It's similar to what you come to expect at other major gas station pumps. I've been using this Arco for the past year and a half and really welcome the improvements they have made to the pumps. The screens also give you the option of adding a car wash, which I find convenient. So, why not 5-stars? Well, although the pumps work MOST of the time, they are not without the occasional fault, here and there. I would say I visit this Arco about once a week, and about 1 in every 4 visits, or monthly, I find the pump I try to use either is out of order, glitchy, or won't print a receipt (showing the carwash code). In that case I either have to try another pump, or go inside the AM/PM store to request a duplicate copy with the carwash code. Not a huge deal, but still a little hassle when it's very busy and the line is long. There is a good reason Arco gas is cheap, or amoung the cheapest. First, like Costco, and Safeway, they sell on volume. This explains why this is one of the busiest and highest traffic gas stations in the area. Second, Arco gasoline contains up to 10% ethanol blend. This doesn't necessarily mean it's inferior, but just a slightly different formulation. Your car/engine is designed to burn a combination of ethanol and gasoline without any adverse effects. Arco and Costco both advertise a maximum of 10 percent ethanol across all octanes. They do not have any additives that they advertise. In other words, it's straight up "gas" without the "fluff" like Chevrons "Techron", or Shells "V-power", Those "expensive" stations want you to believe you are getting "better" gas when in fact it makes little, if any difference. The "difference" with ARCO, of course is price. Often as much as 20 (or more) cents cheaper per gallon. That can make a bit of a difference depending on what type of vehicle you drive, and how much you drive. For most of us that that only use 87 octane, regular unleaded its just as good as the "Chevrons" & "Shells". I've done the math using Arco compared to others and saw barely any difference in MPG. This is not a plug for Arco, but once I started doing my own research after being brainwashed into thinking Chevron & Shell were superior, I don't pump anything else.

OK, I have finally had it. I start work at 6 AM in Morgan Hill. The closest gas station is Arco…read more You don't know how many times I've gone to this Arco in the morning and I cannot put gas. Either somethings wrong with their , the pump or like this morning, it said " site pump inactive" at the physical pump. The employee is there have never gave me a problem and their customer service is always really great. It just sucks that a company this large always has problems and puts these employees in positions like this. They shouldn't have to explain all the time why they can't sell gas. Arco on Monterey get it together. I will no longer come to this Arco even though it is so conveniently close to me. I'll pay the extra money at 7-Eleven down the street.
