I don't even know where to start. If you're looking for an amazing person that does incredible work for your big day than look no further! My fiancé (Gary) and I interviewed 5 different photographers for our engagement shoot as well as our wedding (planned for next December) and none even came close to making us feel as comfortable as Gilbert. I was digging deep looking for a photographer to show Gary. Reaching out to everyone I knew that had a camera but nobody seemed right, until he mentioned Gilbert. To be honest I kind of dismissed Gary's input since he doesn't have any experience with photography at first and then he showed me some of Gilberts work! Instantly you know that he is very talented. The way he took advantage of different lighting and didn't give it that "photoshopped" look. Everything is very well balanced and that's what made me agree to have a sit down with him. I first reached out by calling him Mr. Rivera. Only to be quickly corrected since he is a "dude." Haha. That alone shows a piece of his easy going personality. We made arrangements to meet and everything when smoothly. It felt like we were having coffee with an old friend, which is extremely important for me since I can be quite awkward in front of a camera. We agree that day that we wanted Gilbert to be the one to document out special day. The day of our engagement shoot I noticed one of my diamonds in my ring had gone missing! Freaking out, I notified Gilbert and he suggested pushing back the shoot to get it fixed, but stubborn me wouldn't allow it. And so the show went on! At our first engagement shoot, we met at a park of our choosing. I had never been to this park and when I arrived I felt like there weren't to many photo opportunities which was a little nerve racking, but Gilbert made it work! He managed to not only get us to feel comfortable in front of the camera but also created these gorgeous images from what I thought was impossible. He didn't get to many close ups of my ring, as a I requested, but did get some not so close ones and managed to make it look like the ring was perfect! Idk how but you couldn't even tell a diamond was missing! We set up a second engagement session and since i like to throw challenges at him, we decided to bring along our 2 (not so trained) dogs. Gilbert was more than great with them! The oldest is 12 years old and can't do to much. He was able to work perfectly with what ever the dogs threw at him. Haha. It was difficult but he got some great shots! Our wedding is over a year away but I'm sure I'll be seeing Gilbert before then. He is a complete sweetheart and a wonderful photographer turn friend. It is truly our honor of having him take our photos. To get to the point, stop looking. Gilbert is your photographer for ANY occasion. He is extremely talented and one of the kindest people you will ever meet.
My wife and I were referred to Gilbert by a friend who recently hired him for their wedding. Immediately we were incredibly pleased with our decision to go with Gil. He is a professional who takes his job very seriously and takes pride in his work. He was constantly going the extra mile to ensure that he got the perfect shot and captured the moment. We first started with the engagement shots. Gilbert suggested a very nice park in Chino Hills and we were amazed when we saw how beautiful the scenery was. Gilbert took us around the park and we ended up taking over 500 pictures. Gilbert was very accommodating to us and helped us with pictures that we wanted. Our engagement photos turned out amazingly. We then called Gilbert to schedule him for our big day. He had contacted us the week preceding the wedding to get the schedule of events so that he could plan. On the day of the wedding Gilbert showed up hours before the guests so that he could look for the best places to shoot and so that he can capture the prep for the wedding. During the wedding Gilbert seemed to always be in the right place to capture the perfect shot. Everyone was complimenting us on the hard work Gilbert put forth during the wedding. We could honestly not be happier with the work Gilbert has done. We are very happy that we chose Gilbert for this very memorable day for us. I would highly recommend Gilbert's services to anyone who needs quality photos.
Gilbert did a GREAT job with my wedding photography! My wife and I are very happy with our photos and we'd highly recommend him to any couple looking for a photographer for their special day. We first met with Gilbert months before our wedding to see if he was the right photographer for us and right away we clicked. He has such a great personality that he really makes you feel comfortable around him, which is great when taking pictures. He worked well with us and our big family. The day of the wedding Gilbert was on point with everything we asked. His attitude, flexibility, and interest in doing what was best for our wedding was unbelievable. He did an amazing job and we are very thankful that we chose him for our big day. In the end we received high quality images that have beautiful bright color, some of the typical wedding poses, some special requests photos and best of all the candid shots that only a true photographer can capture! Those candid shots are the special moments that won't be forgotten. From the Huizar's... Gilbert... Thank you!
We chose Gilbert to capture our special day after seeing his fabulous work on his website and are so blessed that we did. When planning a wedding, it is so stressful and you think you need to do everyone's job; Gilbert truly knew what he was doing and was able to walk me through the process and give me peace of mind that he was the true expert. And he was! He was so sweet and cared so much about us as a couple that he made us feel so comfortable and it shows in our photos. He was firm with the schedule and had our best interest in mind when he led us through the photo taking. I didn't have to think once; I just followed his instruction and it paid off. Gilbert captured the essence of our wedding; he captured the moments. He didn't miss a single shot. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. Gilbert, Thank you so much for being our photographer and being part of our special day. Without you, we would not have such beautiful memories.
Update Gilbert was our photographer on our wedding day 10-17-14. He did an amazing job that day running around and keeping us straight. He is a perfectionist in every way and very professional. He's supper punctual and does what he says he will do. He planned everything so that he could shoot our after wedding photos at our country club venue at sunset. The pictures came out absolutely perfect. He is very personable and fun you will not be disappointed. Money is a major concern when planning a wedding but I promise that it's the best money you will spend. I am also using Gilbert this month for our sons 2nd birthday shoot. So basically we love him! Thanks again Gilbert see you in a couple weeks!
As I write this review I'm trying to put in words our experience with Gilbert but I just cant. There are too many great traits to list! He was always punctual, extremely professional he was running around and working so hard to capture the entire wedding and capture a "Perfect" shot. We received our photos yesterday and I'm happy to say almost EVERY SINGLE shot was a perfect shot!! We were running very behind schedule and I never ever felt rushed by him he was incredibly patient, warm, funny and was so attentive to every detail. If I could go back I would hire him 1000 times over! Thank you Gilbert you have a very happy client here! :)
The moment I knew i wanted to propose to my girlfriend, I knew I needed to hire someone to capture that special moment. Gilbert was recommended to me and I could not have been happier with how everything turned out. Gilbert was very professional and took some amazing photos. My fiancee and I are extremely happy with the photos. We will definitely continue to use his services in the future as we plan our wedding.
Gilbert is the BEST!!! I contacted him based solely on his Yelp reviews, and he definitely lived up to the reviews and more! His website reflects him well, and I literally felt like we were friends before we ever met. His prices were reasonable, he is very down to earth, and his photographs were definitely professional quality. We booked with him for our Engagement photos and he captured exactly what we wanted and more! AND he gave us a sneak peek of the photos a few days after the shoot and had all of our edited photos back to us within a week. Excellent service and I would definitely recommend him and book with him again!
Gilbert has done two photo session of our little family and I am so happy to have picked him to capture memories for us! He is a very gifted man, patient, creative, professional! I have recommended him to every person possible! We were so happy shoot after shoot that we know he will keep doing our family portraits for years to come!!!
I came across Gilbert on Yelp while trying to look for a last minute photographer who was available within a week to do a 1 hour session for my daughters 1st Birthday, I was so lucky he was available for the weekend, and so glad he was willing to work with my schedule. He was super friendly, down to earth, made us feel comfy and made my daughter feel comfortable too, which is what mattered most. The photo shoot went so smooth, he had tons of neat ideas, and made this experience fun. He mailed me the pictures within a couple days since I needed them ASAP and I actually received them sooner than I ever expected. The pictures were so unbelievably good I am so happy with his work and so glad I chose Gilbert. We will definitely be doing business again. I highly recommend Gilbert to anyone who needs a photographer A+
We chose Gilbert to capture our one week old daughter. I knew right away she was in good hands as he was so professional, patient and wonderful with her. Not only was he wonderful with our daughter, but also with our 2 year old boxer. I was thrilled when he was more than willing to allow us to include our four-legged family member in the photo shoot. The pictures came out breathtaking and I couldn't be more thrilled with the end product. I would definitely recommend Gilbert and we are hoping to use him again!!
I heard about Gilbert from a family friend and I'm glad that my fiancé and I chose him to do our engagement shoot. He is very personable and made us feel comfortable. It honestly felt like we knew him forever and it was an old friend taking our pictures so it made it easier for my fiancé and to be ourselves and relax in front of the camera. Gilbert did an amazing job on out engagement shoot and I can't wait for him to capture moments from our wedding on Jan. 2!

Knowing his work from a prior event he did for my Nieces quinceañera, and a family member of my sister-in-law I knew we couldn't go wrong with Gilbert, without hesitation, he was booked. His pricing, professional, friendly and easy going personality made our engagement photo session memorable and funny. Walked around Santa Anita race track cracking jokes, while he performed his magic. #kentuckyderbythemewedding Looking forward to our wedding and special day. Thanks to, Gilbert, he will be there to capture every moment. read more

One of our best wedding decisions was choosing Gilbert as our photographer. While searching for a photographer my husband and I wanted to make sure they not just do a great job with our photos but also have a great attitude. We reached out to Gilbert and set up an appointment to go over all details, right off the back both my husband and I connected with Gilbert. He presented us his portfolio and we discussed wedding details. Within 30min of us meeting we knew we wanted to book him. Throughout our wedding planning Gilbert was professional and responsive. On our big day Gilbert and his assistant we're amazing! He made sure to prepare us before the big day reminding us to NOT skip breakfast which is very important and just relax and enjoy our day. Gilbert was terrific with all our guests capturing many great pictures. It doesn't stop there, Gilbert did an amazing job editing our wedding pictures we absolutely loved them! He takes pride in his work and it shows. My husband and I are extremely happy with our pictures and feel honored to have worked with such a talent. read more

Where do we start.. My Fiancé and I were Very particular about the photographer that would shoot our Wedding Day. The night that we met Gilbert lifted the stress of us finding the right photographer. The conversation, presentation, photos, professionalism, and knowing we just made a new friend was great. That night we booked Gilbert and set the date for our Engagement shoot. By the time of our engagements shoot, we had already met with Gilbert several times, business and fun. The day of the shoot was easy. Gilbert came up with great ideas and areas, along with incorporating our thoughts too. This was a fun and comfortable day. After receiving the Engagement shoot from Gilbert, We were speechless! Gilbert did an amazing job. We can't wait for the wedding day! We would absolutely recommend Gilbert to anyone who is looking for a great photographer and amazing life long memories. Thanks Gilbert!! read more

Gilbert is AMAZING! He did my maternity photo shoot and the pictures came out so beautiful! Both my husband and I are a bit camera shy, but Gilbert made us feel so comfortable and confident. I said I wanted to take the pictures in a woodsy location and he recommended a beautiful spot. He was so prompt to answer my texts about my outfit and what to bring. He is very professional but also so caring that I felt comfortable to go to him with questions. We had such a good time taking the pictures and I am so grateful for the beautiful memories made that day, and that we have gorgeous pictures that captured those moments. After the photo shoot my husband and I couldn't stop talking about how happy we were with the whole experience. Gilbert is truly gifted with an eye for photography and we are so thankful that we got to meet him. I highly recommend him! Thank you, Gilbert, for everything you did for us!! read more

Updating my review! My wedding was on 5/30. Gilbert was awesome as I expected. He followed me everywhere and didn't even notice he was there snapping away. His assistant Richard is very talented too! They were a great team. Before I went to my honeymoon, Gilbert sent me 5 edited photos to give me a preview of my wedding photos. I thought that was so cool of him to do. 2 weeks after my wedding I get a call from Gilbert telling me my photos are ready! All 2000!!! We met up so he can hand deliver them and the USB and packaging was so detailed. My photos are amazing. My family loved them as well and kept telling me how funny and great Gilbert was. I'll upload a few so you can see for yourself. I am so happy with how everything turned out and I'm so happy we picked Gilbert. And My sister is now using Gilbert for her daughters 1st Birthday photos. Thanks so much, Gilbert. read more

My now husband and I cannot express how thankful and blessed we were to have Gilbert be our photographer for our special day! We met Gilbert through a friend, it right away we knew it was fate! We instantly knew he was the one... he is just a great person over all and has so much passion for what he does. Every time we met up with Gilbert to go over our big day its like he totally was locked into my vision and was so sweet to give us tips and even help us with our timeline. He was always available when I had any questions, because as a bride you want everything to run smoothly, and he always responded quickly and would even reach out to me to wish me well. My husband and I really felt a connection and felt like we have known Gilbert forever! He made us so comfortable that on our wedding day I hardly remembered he was actually taking pictures... which in the end was the best thing ever because all of our photos were candid and real!...No forced photos, no awkward poses... just us being us. He was personal with our family and wedding party that everyone still talks about him. He took the time to get to know everyone and worked so well with our wedding team. I really feel that Gilbert tied our entire wedding together and when I look back at our pictures I feel so much emotion and happiness and notice all the things I was too busy to take a second look at the day of. I tell all my family and friends about Gilbert and I honestly want people to get engaged just so that they can experience what I have with the best photographer ever! read more

What's not to say about Gilbert ? Not only is he a highly talented photographer but a very professional one at that. We booked Gilbert because he came highly recommended to us by 2 of of his previous clients. I admit that we are a very picky couple when it comes to these things. My fiancé and I were very nervous for our engagement shoot because one, we were clueless about photo shoots, and secondly, we had an extremely particular look that we were going for in our engagement photos. Gilbert made us feel so extremely relaxed and he EXECUTED our engagement shoot. Most importantly, he delivered our pictures with a 5 day turnaround - AS HE PROMISED. My fiancé and I couldn't be happier with our final results. Now that he did our engagement shoot, we have booked him for the big day!! In 4 months Gilbert will be capturing our wedding up in Santa Barbara wine country and we are 100% confident that we made the right decision. TRUST me when I say that I did my research. We are very detailed and expected flawless photos, and that's what Gilbert provided us with. read more
