David was great to work with. He shot my wedding this September and guests kept telling us how wonderful the photographer was. How they noticed that he was very detail oriented, friendly while remaining professional, and quick to oblige to photo requests. As the bride, I had a very good similar experience to our guests. David made my husband and I (who are admittedly a bit camera shy) feel very comfortable and gave us enough direction without making us feel overly posed. Not only was David great to work with day of, he was replied to emails in a timely fashion, met with us via Zoom and even suggested a minor change to our timeline that would make for a smoother evening and make sure we're were getting the best range of photos possible. When my husband and I changed the time we would like him to arrive 2 days before the wedding, David made it happen (which we didn't expect, but were really grateful for). We just received previews from our wedding photos and I am BLOWN AWAY. My husband and I can't stop looking at the photos and can't wait to receive the full gallery. David's skills are wonderful, his editing is natural and clean, and he was able to capture our day in a way that felt really authentic to us all at a VERY reasonable price. We hired David to provide photo and video services for our daughter's Quinceanera in May 2024 in Orange County. One of the best decisions we made! David met us a week in advance to scout on the venue and look for the best possible photo/video locations. The day of the event he was there right on time and over the remainder of the day it was like watching an artist at work! From the photos at every angle to the video to the drone shots - no stone was left unturned. David (Photo), Frankie (Video), and the rest of the team could not have been more professional. Within a few days we already had a handful of edited images and short videos. Amazing stuff! Within a few weeks we had hundreds of incredible edited images in our hands. I can't say enough amazing things!!! We used MarCinema for our wedding after my brother & SIL used them for theirs and we had so much fun with them, we needed to hire them for ours! Man, I LOVE these guys... So David and John came out to do our wedding, and I can't believe what a DECENT human being these guys are... I mean, besides their workmanship and the quality of their talent/skills (which speak for themselves), but they are genuinely NICE people.. REALLY good guys. Our wedding was on a dark cloudy night, with light drizzle here and there. One of our guests, a young family of 5 with 3 children in tow (with adorable twins), was having problems with their car. Other friends tried to help but couldn't get it to work. John steps in and BAM! it's fixed. I guess he's had some experience working with cars in the past, but he steps up like a super hero and the family is on their way home safe and sound. Mind you this was AFTER the event was over.. so people were leaving, but they stuck around to help make sure everything was good to go. It was also too chaotic before the event, and we didn't get to do a lot of the wedding shots and they helped get all those finished as well. I was hesitant to share this story because I don't want people bringing their jalopy hoping they might get a free car repair next time they get hired. But it just illustrates what great people they are. You can tell the dedication and passion that they have for their work and to the people they service. If you want to make sure you get the perfect shot to memorialize your special occasions, don't settle for second class. People who don't care as much will just snap away for the easy shots and hope they get one or two shots that might be usable. David and John will go out of their way to make sure you get the PERFECT shot. On special occasions and once-in-a-lifetime events, don't risk it with people trying to lure you with a gimmick. read more

The Positive: * David was very polite and friendly * He arrived early enough to get some photos and video of the setup * They brought their own equipment * He responded to e-mail in a timely manner * The samples on their website look great, clearly they are capable of quality work * Reasonably priced * He responded well to criticism and gave us the raw footage so we could try and piece a better video together ourselves * The ceremony was filmed well, kept simple * The white balance was perfect and the focus crisp on the photos. There were one or two artistically good photos The Negative: * They left early because they arrived early. We asked them to come from 2pm - 10pm. They arrived at the venue at.. i think 11am or 12pm? and left... around 8pm? Not sure, I was in a wedding dress with no pockets and no watch. It was before the sun set completely. * The photos were not delivered in the expected time and he didn't proactively communicate about the slipping timeline (which does happen and can be expected if the quality is high). We were told that the photos would be ready within 3 weeks. We got married June 8th. I pinged him on July 3rd and was told he needed another 3-6 weeks, July 30th I pinged him again, and he said he needed until August 10th. We received photos on August 17th. This would have been ok if the resulting quality was as expected, but it wasn't up to par (see below). * The post-ceremony staged shots went a bit too long, so we missed dinner and weren't able to spend quality time with our guests * There were only a few photos of guests, many who came were not depicted. * There were only a few candids and setting shots. They were not well framed, nor were they near the quality depicted on the website * The ISO settings were not correct for a forest, and they didn't bring the right lighting equipment, so many of the photos that did not contain sunlight came out grainy * The video had a mac logo on it for some reason * Music we did not select (and that was not to our tastes) was used in the menu and two of our song choices were not used at all * The film kept going in and out of focus, and was shaky from time to time * The film was not framed properly--peoples' heads were cut off * They said they would bring a lapel mic, but I don't think it was used because the audio quality was terrible. There were breathing sounds during parts of the video * The editing was awkward. Too much time was spent on one guest who performed for 10 minutes and another who was clearly feeling very awkward talking about us for several minutes. * Because they left early, we have no record of my brother singing, our first dance, the karaoke, etc. Overall, I really wish I could recommend David because he is clearly a very nice person. I'm just puzzled about the website and reviews, which are all clearly high quality and very positive. Why was our wedding poorly shot and poorly edited? read more

David took our engagement pictures at Corona Del Mar Beach a while back and they came out incredible! I loved every picture he took and he was super helpful with setting up our props. He made us feel super comfortable around him and he has a great sense of humor! Later, David and his team worked my wedding on April 8th. These group of guys were remarkable. My morning didn't start off as great and they were all there to put a smile on my face. His team is built by gentlemen and talented guys. David and his crew worked our wedding day on March 14 in Santa Barbara. They were incredibly thorough without being invasive. They were very kind and very patient with how the day rolled out and always seemed to be in place to capture the right visuals without mucking anything up. And, after receiving our videos (both on DVD and digitally), we can say that they WERE always in place to capture great footage.
