Found Pose Palace on TikTok and decided to check it out for a family photoshoot with our newborn--and I'm so glad we did! We stopped by on a weekday in the late afternoon and practically had the place to ourselves. Another family arrived shortly after, but it was still very relaxed and easygoing. The process was super simple. You can make a reservation, but we just walked in without any issues. We did the white background setup for 15 minutes, which was perfect and definitely a must if you're taking photos with little kids. There were a few technical difficulties during our session, but the staff member was incredibly accommodating. He paused the timer and gave us those minutes back so we didn't lose any of our shoot time. The pricing is great too! The package includes 2 people and 3 printed 4x6 photos of your favorite shots. Additional people are only $5 each, but they didn't charge us for our toddler or newborn, which was such a nice surprise. One of the best parts is that you get access to download every single digital photo from your session, not just a select few. Recently my US passport needed to be renewed so this photo studio was one of the few places that still open on Sundays after 4 PM. The photo studio is located inside AR Galleria (the main galleria entrance was locked on Sunday afternoon so I had to enter through the side door via Cafe Lowell). [Parking]: Easy and free parking in the large plaza. [Reservation]: I was able to call and book a same-day reservation on Sunday. Visitors can also make an online reservation via the studio's website. Upon arrival, I scanned a QR code and signed a waiver before the owner started my 5-minute photo session. [Price]: $27 for 4 physical copies and digital copies to download via email (must be downloaded within 7 days). I did not initially receive an email, but I emailed the owner the next day about the download link and he sent a follow-up email with the link within a few hours (the email was hidden in my spam folder). The email included all the pictures taken during the session. The shop also makes photo keychains ($4+ each). The studio also offers 15-minute and 30-minute self-portrait sessions. [Studio]: While I was here for a passport photo, the studio mainly operates as a self-portrait studio where customers take photos of themselves. This small studio has all the props and camera setup needed to make it happen. [Process]: The owner had me sit on a chair and took 7 pictures. Out of the 7 pictures taken, I was able to choose one for him to print while the rest of pictures can be downloaded via a link in an email. It was more important to receive a digital copy because the US passport renewal process requires applicants to upload a digital photo rather than submit a physical copy. I was able to use one of the digital copies and now that same picture will be on my passport for the next 10 years before the next renewal timeline. [Conclusion]: Overall it was an efficient process and I was able to walk in and out within 15 minutes. However, it would be helpful for the studio to provide additional entry instructions on the website when the main galleria entrance is locked. read more

Visited here to take birthday photos! Though, it's the perfect self-portrait studio to capture any occasion. Parking: They're located in a medium sized plaza with high foot traffic. The parking lot is consistently busy, so finding a spot can be a hit or miss. Ambiance/Environment: The studio is located inside the AR Gallery. Once you enter the AR Gallery, you'll see the studio on your right. They have an extremely small space with two rooms. One room features white walls, and the other room features colored backgrounds. There's many props from headbands and hats to chairs and stools and more! Some props can use a cleaning, but you can't really see it in the photos. Service: I decided to do a walk-in, so I didn't book an appointment or prepay online. They only take walk-ins starting at 11:30. They're not busy on weekdays but busier during the weekends. I completely forgot his name, but the worker that checked me in was nice, efficient, and knowledgable about the offerings. They provide a large screen with gridlines, lighting, and a small remote. They'll give you a timer, so you'll know exactly how much time you have left during your session. Studio Session & Photos: I chose the 5 minute session with the colored background. You'd choose two colors out of five options. Since I chose the colored walls, let the worker know when you're ready to switch colors. They'll pause the timer, switch the background, and continue the timer. The small remote is easy to hide in the photos. The lighting is perfect, and the photos came out amazing! I've been to a few self-portrait studios and I wanna say this is my favorite! I really like how there's A LOT of color options for backgrounds and they will change your background color as many times as you like free of charge. When they are changing your background and when you're getting ready and setting up the stools, they don't count that time against you so you can optimize your time taking as many photos as you want. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do 15 minutes or 30 minutes when I got there as a walk in and they let me do 15 minutes first then continue onto 30 minutes when I felt I needed more time. They have two options for photos with either full body or upper half body. I chose to do the upper half body! They are dog friendly and give you a 10% discount when you come to celebrate something like a birthday or anniversary! I got a 10% off discount for coming to celebrate my dog's 10th birthday! They also print a few photos for free at the end of your session after you select your favorites. Studio is located inside of the mall, right when you walk in you'll see the sign on your right side. We came to our 30 minute appointment as a family of four for the 30mm white room (me, my husband, a toddler, and a baby). Ambitious as we were, we were even able to do 2 outfit changes! Dang was there to help show us the set up and how to use the clicker. There is a camera & two screens to show you the live feed of what the camera sees. Then when you take the picture it will show you the image that you took. There are plenty of props to choose from (and you can bring your own too ofc!). After he showed us everything, he gave us some time to get settled and ready before he started the timer. There were initially some technically difficulties (no worries, he still added some time on the timer). Even in between our outfit changes, he paused the timer too! We never felt rushed at all. Homework to do before coming to the shoot: Look on Pinterest for some "family photo shot lists" to save time and see how you wanna pose! In the end, our shoot included 6 4x6 photos & an ENTIRE ALBUM of ALL the photos you took that day. No fuss no muss. They also have discounts for you to use and you can stack them too! We chose the white background both times. A camera is set up with a screen displaying how the photo will turn out which helps you find exactly where to stand / sit. A short preview of the photo pops up after you snap. There is not an option to delete anything but you can take as many photos as you can. I really love this idea of taking high quality portraits of yourself without a photographer! I took my mom here for a belated Mother's Day photoshoot and we were greeted by Dang. He was really friendly and accommodating! We did a walk in, but appointments are also available. There are two different rooms, the full body/white room or the colored room which only takes photos from the waist up. Plenty of props are available and he gave us some time to figure out what poses to do and showed us how to use the clicker before he started our 15 min timer. Come prepared with ideas because the 15 mins went by quick! I almost wish there was an option to add more time in 5 or 10 min increments if possible. I love this place it's a hidden gem. If you're looking to take pictures without the awkwardness of a photographer this is your go to place. There are two rooms a wide shot full body white room and a portrait style 4 different color background room. I came here for Mother's Day & wanted to do the white room but it was already booked. We did the 30 min muti-color room. I love that the pictures already come edited. Note: you can not move the camera since it's already preset to focus and lighting already. If you're a type of girl that likes to edit & filter the shit out of your pictures this is not the place for you. It's natural editing and professional designed. With the 30 mins session comes with all your digital photos send to you thru Gmail and you get to choose 6 to be printed. With the muti-color room they help you change your background if needed. The staff was super friendly and work very quickly to get your pictures printed 10/10 They do have a lot of props to use. If you're planning to do birthday I recommend bringing your own balloons. My family came and did a quick Halloween family photo shoot. The gentleman working the front was so helpful even though he was assisting a large group before us. My family did a 15 minute shoot and we changed the background halfway through our shoot. We were given enough time to familiarize ourselves with the equipment, camera, props, etc. The time does go by so quickly so I recommend figuring out your poses, props, etc beforehand. My husband is a hobby photographer and recognized that the equipment is topnotch. Wow, had the most amazing time at pose palace. Originally took a group of 5 and went to The Source, Buena Park so we could take pictures at photogram. After arriving we were told all the spots were taken and reservations were booked. We made a last minute change to go to pose palace and we are so glad we did. They were extremely accommodating and let us come in for a last minute slot. Not only this but the owners were so friendly and patient and showed us how to use the room, camera, and props. My wife found this place through Instagram. We've had experience from a previous self-portrait in Koreatown, Los Angeles, but the price was expensive. Good experience, but we expected the price to be more reasonable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at this studio! Dan greeted us and explained the procedures once we got to the studio. He was extremely patient with us considering we had a toddler who was not listening and cooperating during the photoshoot (shaking my head). Dan paused the timer so our timeframe did not count against us. Once we were ready to resume and got our daughter situated, he started the timer again until our session was over. Since my wife and I are healthcare and work in education, we were applicable to receive 20% discount from our package. $20 deposit is due when booking and you would pay the remaining package after the session. Such an underrated spot. I took my daughter and my niece here for some cousin pictures and wow, the photos came out so cute. Dan was super professional and made sure we fully understood how to use the remote before we started. He also waited to start the timer until our first prop was set up, which we really appreciated. We did the 15-minute session and were a little nervous it wouldn't be enough time, but we ended up with around 120 photos--plenty of great ones to choose from! There were so many fun props to pick from, which made the experience even better. I'll only be sharing pictures of my daughter, but we got so many cute cousin shots too. Pose Palace is a small little photo studio tucked inside of the AR gallery (red building). There's plenty of parking but very little foot traffic here on this side of the plaza so I could see how there might be trouble getting business exposure. I was a little wary to see that it was $67 for a 15-minute shoot but it was sooo much fun! You take as many pictures as you can in 15 minutes using a clicker but the camera quality is amazing and the lighting is on point. The best part for us was that the studio owners let us settle in and get comfortable with planning our poses & using the clicker before they officially started the timer. It was so awkward at first but once we got the hang of it, we just kept going. My best friend and I were able to get about 47 photos in 15 minutes (including some solo pics to update our LinkedIn! Lol). There are a variety of props and furniture to help add personality to the photos (e.g. headwear, glasses, flower vases, fans, etc) - but make sure you know what you want so you don't waste time because time does go by VERY quickly, especially when you're having fun. At the end of it, the photos get immediately sent to you via Google Drive (but only lasts a week!). They also provided us with 3 free 4x6 prints OR an option to do 1-4 pictures in one 4x6 printout, and 10% off coupons to spread the word or for the next time we come back. This was the best 15 minutes spent! We did the 15 minute package that included the three colored background, all the digital photos emailed, and three printed photos. The packages are based on two people, and it is an additional $5 for every extra person over the age of 10. The free 4x6 printed photos included the choice of one picture, two pictures, or four pictures. Children and pets are welcomed! We ended up taking about 76 digital photos in the 15 minutes and had such a great time learning the technology of taking the photos by ourselves. The staff were super nice and helpful -- your time is also paused during each of background color change. During the background change, we were able to grab more props and think of more ideas. They have two studio rooms. One is a white background that is good for large groups and full body images and the second is a colored room with four choices (red, green, pink, and beige). They recommend that you make an appointment but will also take walk-in. They have only been opened since the beginning of August and I imagine that they will be super busy and popular soon-- especially during the holidays. We had so much fun and will definitely be coming back with our other friends and family. It was my birthday this month so they gave us 10% off! They also give 10% off to healthcare workers.
