I was told I needed an appointment to establish care first. They made me an appointment for January 2 at 8:15 am. When I showed up at 8:00, the office was dark. When someone finally showed up at 8:10, I was told the doctor was out of town and that my appointment had been rescheduled for January 10 and I had received a call. The only call I received was a voicemail CONFIRMING my appointment. The receptionist then told me that the appointment should have never been scheduled in the first place because, on December 27, the calendar showed the doctor out of the office. Having taken the day off, I was a little miffed, but I agreed to the January 10 appointment. On January 10, I showed up for my appointment, spent 20 minutes filling out a stack of forms and then I sat and waited...and waited. During my wait, the doctor took the time to meet with some pharmaceutical reps that dropped in WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. After 50 minutes, I asked how much longer it would be. I was told the doctor was "behind schedule", was with one patient and yet another was ahead of me. I decided to wait a little longer. After another 40 minutes, nothing had changed. I asked the staff person for my $45 co-pay back and I left. This was an appointment to "establish care." The office staff did not seem to care that they canceled one appointment and kept me waiting for 90 minutes on another. If the office staff are incompetent at the most basic level, find another provider. Lesson learned.

To me, she is so much more than a physician...she is a friend, a confidant, and a therapist. She is patient, LISTENS to what you say and takes the time necessary for you to feel like you've had a good talk with your doctor! Years ago, I came into the office and was exhausted. I immediately fell asleep in the exam room and knowing that I needed a nap, I was covered with a blanket and left to rest while Dr. Tierney checked in with me several times to see if had had woken up. Best 20 minute nap ever! Now that shows true compassion. She returns calls, reads and responds to e-mails and asks what YOU want to do. Dr. Tierney does not take insurance, but she is fair in her pricing. For what she asks and the time you get, it's a bargain. I can't say enough...and that's the truth! Pamela Hamilton

I can not imagine if she was not there for us by email and calling our son every other day to make sure we were doing all the vitamins, antibiotics and then encouraging my son to take me to CHOMP when I became worse. This experience was so difficult and we were scared that without proper medical advice, the outcome could have been deathly. I would have happily paid any doctor for life saving advice. During this time, we were not allowed to be seen in any local facility due to the high risks. So, emailing her was something that we will cherish.

The year of 2020 wasn't a good year for most of us but we are very thankful for two things that…read morehappened to us during that year. One is that God blessed us with our baby. The other is that God connected us with a very good doctor. Dr Alexander and his team took good care of me throughout my pregnancy. They made this not so easy journey during a very difficult year a joyful experience for me and my family. We are very appreciative of their knowledge, professionalism and a safe yet very cozy environment they provide. This office also has very friendly and caring staffs and nurses. Their professionalism and patience make every visit a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, we are going to move out of the area. I wish my next OBGYN doctor can be close to Dr Alexande. We really wish that when we have our next baby, we can be back to the area so that we can see Dr Alexander again. That's how good he is!

He is very knowledgeable and experienced and you will be safe in his hands! Not to mention fun to talk to! Thank you again for the wonderful, safe delivery of our baby boy.

I'm sorry other reviewer's mentioned his age and the decor in his waiting rooms - without thinking about his dedication to medicine and helping his patients. For God's sake, you're not hiring a personal trainer or a nail salon - this is a man with decades of with the highest level of experience and credentials. Among other things, before he retired from the San Jose area, he was the head of cardiology at Stanford University! Most of us have no idea what is required to attain this level of expertise. Yes, I have had to wait each time I have been to see him. But what I noticed is that his waiting room is full of people of color and different socia/economic means - I am absolutely certain that he isn't working because he needs the money! He is working because it is his calling. He takes the necessary time with each patient, and educates us according to our questions and our ability to understand. I am very embarrassed for the people who don't understand who they have giving them medical care.

After numerous requests to find out how long it would be, he finally left at about 11:45 after making an appointment with another doctor. Staff was apologetic and helpful (as much as possible) but wait time is unacceptable. Husband took off work to go to this appointment and he works 1.5 hours away so you can imagine how inconvenient this was. ALSO, this was not original appointment nor doctor. When I called office a couple of week before about another question, found out that husband's appointment was not only moved out a week but was scheduled with a different doctor. No one notified us; had it not been for my calling to ask a question on the intake form, we would not have known he had been rescheduled. Just noticed that Doctor concentrates on women's health (obgyn?) which can possibly be cause of delay. However, if known there would be a delay at this time in the morning, someone should have notified us and rescheduled appointment. BTW, was told that this doctor is notorious for running late. Terrible service; terrible consideration and respect for other people's time!!!

In June 2015 I underwent a procedure in Dr. Flemming's office for enlarged prostate. The procedure…read moreis called "cooled thermotherapy." This procedure is an alternative to medication or traditional surgery. I have found the results of this procedure to be excellent: urination has become easy again, and sexual performance remains strong relative to my age (74). There are no follow-up medications to take, and I have noticed no significant side effects following the procedure. Cooled thermotherapy is a relatively comfortable procedure, takes about half an hour, and is performed on an out-patient basis in the doctor's office. For me it replaced the medications I had been taking that had become ineffective, and obviated the need for surgery, which requires a hospital stay and may have significant side effects. I am very appreciative that Dr. Flemming made this option available to me.

I had a horrible experience with this office. My son's pediatrician referred us to Dr. Dahlstrom. A…read morecouple days later, they called on my cell phone to set up an appointment. We got there and the doctor talked to me for a half hour about my son's condition, didn't address my son, and didn't examine him. He gave us an over-the-counter prescription and told us to come back in 6 weeks. That was fine. I expected my son would be examined next time. We made the appointment for 6 weeks out and I asked if they make reminder calls. The receptionist said, "Yes." Six weeks later, I got a call that we had missed our appointment and would be charged a late fee. Even if they didn't make the reminder call, I know it's my responsibility, but I asked if they would please waive the fee since it was the first time and I had expected a reminder call. The girl said no. They would not waive the fee and said they had called me. I did not receive the call or a message, but she insisted that they had called and it was my responsibility to make the appointment regardless of whether they called or not. It turns out they had a different number on file for me. I do not understand how that happened since they had called me for the first appointment and called me to notify me of the no show fee. Later, I received a bill. I called the office to pay the bill. The receptionist said that I needed to call the billing office to pay it, but wouldn't give me the number. I was out so I didn't have the actual bill with me. The receptionist insisted that I needed to refer to my bill to get the number. So, I waited until I got home, called the billing office, and payed the bill. A month later, I received a bill for the same visit and late charge. I called the billing office to sort it out and they have no record of my payment even though it is on my bank statement. I payed the full balance a month before. It turns out, when someone calls the billing office to pay a bill, they fax the information to the doctor's office to process the transaction? I'm not surprised they messed that one up. I have yet to hear if they have sorted this payment issue out. Unfortunately, now we have to find another doctor for my son. Dr. Dahlstrom's reception is unorganized and unwilling to help patients. If you want a smooth doctor's visit in your busy life where you have to juggle many different things, find another doctor.
