This is an excellent martial arts academy that I would highly recommend. My son just turned four…read moreand we enrolled him, and he has been learning quickly. He has gained more focus, attention, and is following along quite well. The instructors are top notch and they take the time to make sure each student understands the moves and routines. My son is excited to go to every class and is really enjoying it. Great for discipline, focus, and character building, not just for self defense!

The classes always go for a full hour with no time wasted getting organized beforehand etc. The student/teacher ratio is appropriate and even with a big class they have enough instructors around so that my kid won't spend most of the class waiting for her turn. APSK is setup so that multiple skill levels can come to class on the same days at the same time. If you have siblings both enrolled they can take class together rather than having to wait through each other's class. APSK teaches the full package. They work life lessons into the program and try to demonstrate proper discipline, responsibility and respect along with defense techniques. My daughter isn't a discipline problem but I still really appreciate the extra help and lessons that have been part of her training. ASPK isn't just a karate class for my daughter. It's a community of role models and friends that she loves hanging out with. They have holiday and birthday parties, they offer after school and summer programs, they interact with parents, and they are the best options if your looking to get your kids (or yourself) into martial arts.

This place is incredible, and the community is exactly what you hope to find…read more My son is almost 4 years old, has a speech delay, and has always been very shy and timid. We've enrolled him in multiple activities and groups hoping to help him build confidence, but progress was slow. We joined Zanshin just over two weeks ago, and we've never seen this side of him. He is confident, carefree, and absolutely loves coming here. My wife and I sit through every class in awe of the growth we've seen in such a short time. Every instructor has been fantastic, but Casey has been the one our little guy has really connected with. We've already booked his birthday party here, and tonight he attended a Kids Night Out event where we had to leave him. I expected a difficult drop-off, but he was having so much fun he didn't even notice me leave. I was almost offended! What made that moment even more special is that he still occasionally struggles with drop-offs at a preschool he's attended for years. Sometimes he wants me to stay, and sometimes he gets upset when it's time for me to leave. To see him walk into a new environment with that level of confidence and comfort was something my wife and I didn't take for granted. The confidence, independence, and joy we've seen from our son in just a few weeks have been remarkable. For a little guy who has often been hesitant in new situations, this experience has been truly life changing so far. Thank you, Casey, Paul, Jordan, and all of the SWOT leaders. We truly appreciate everything you do and look forward to being part of this community for many years to come.

Tip testing and belt exams are scheduled, so you know what to expect.  The sense of community among other families is wonderful, cheering the kids on at belt exams and tournaments!   Sensei Brock and Shihan Fuller are encouraging and create fun, positive classes. Videos of the self-defense or katas they are learning are posted on Facebook so they can practice at home, which is so helpful! Shihan will share information on tournaments that are coming up and help prepare the kids to compete. Our daughter has participated in 2 tournaments recently, they are such a fun experience, and her confidence has grown with each competition. They offer flexible scheduling options that help families find the right fit. We are so thankful we found Zanshin!
