I would highly recommend this GYM. My son is 14 and a big kid. He has done lots of martial arts ( Kenpo, Tang soo do ). Both studio were limited to how many classes a week for very high prices. Factions is reasonable priced and have classes everyday except Sunday. They also have gloves and shin gear for those starting out. Gym is clean also! I had my first MMA class with Maiston today. It actually worked out great for me that it was a Friday night. Several people signed up, but no one else showed up. So I got a private session. Maiston was warm and welcoming. He is easy going and offers lots of positive reinforcement and encouragement. We started with jump ropes, pushups, and pushing Bob. We did BJJ and learned several different ankle locks from different positions. This has always been what I wanted to learn but have always been intimidated by. He was very patient. Then we did some Muay Thai. I was spent. I would recommend it to anyone. He is young. Be has lots of experience and is a well rounded fighter with a great ability to teach. They have hours 6 days a week and I think it was only $129/ month for unlimited. That's awesome. read more

Just finished my 7th class at Faction. I'm really happy with what i have learned in the MMA class with Maston. Clear awesome tuition with no egos. Gym is super clean and equipment is super clean. I'm shopping for a Dojo to start my daughter's martial arts training in. She did a free cover introductory class here and she loved it. Haven taken years of martial arts myself many moons ago, I was also impressed. The instructors deal well with the children and have lots of patience. They also don't treat them like it's more of a daycare like another place we tried. More serious training. Had we lived closer, we would definitely join here, but as it is even with the drive, they are still at the top of the list. read more

I had the opportunity to train at Faction Combatives for two days while visiting a friend in Arizona who trains there as well. I can say, without a doubt, that this place is absolutely amazing and definitely embodies what a great Krav Maga studio is all about. Mats are really clean, the instructors are very patient and knowledgeable, and everybody on the mat participating is very helpful and driven. I train in Krav Maga and have been doing so for almost two years. Visiting and participating in two classes at this location was definitely a breath of fresh air and the experience I needed. After returning back to my studio in California, I could not wait to share to some of the new tips and tricks that I learned back in Arizona. We just started the teen combative classes and already have seen an improvement in attitude and confidence with my 13 year old son. I've been attending the combatives (Krav Maga based) class for over two months now. Not only is the facility nice but Steve is one of the best martial art instructors I've ever come across. I've also worked with Mason a little bit and he is a great instructor as well! In combatives, we work on everything from disarming knives/guns to stand-up game, ground and pound, submissions and more. Everything is practical and designed to help train you for handling dangerous situations. In addition to the combatives class, they offer Brazilian jiu jitsu and muay thai. I haven't taken classes in those disciplines yet but I've heard great things about those as well. All in all, I highly recommend joining this gym if you like mixed martial arts, great instructors and a great curriculum! read more

The kid's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/combat class is amazing. Their instructor, Mason, is an amazing teacher. He is so patient and wonderful and encouraging for the kids. Even when the kids are disruptive he corrects them respectfully and with positive reinforcement. We went to other Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu facilities before switching and my kids have learned so much more with Mason in a shorter time frame than any other place. I couldn't be happier. Steve is an amazing instructor! You can truly see tell he has a passion for teaching both adults and children. I have been doing Krav Maga/Martial Arts for about 4 years now, and I haven't seen a better instructor than Steven. He takes real interest in his students and their progression and really knows how to explain the techniques exceptionally well. I've been through several styles before and never felt I would ever use what I'd learned in a real fight. This is real life defense moves that I could apply on the street at any time. My husband and I absolutely love this place! We have quite busy schedules but it seems so much easier to come to a class here than mindlessly go to a gym after work. If you're looking for a place to learn Krav Maga you need to visit this place. Come try a week. It's a place where there are no attitudes except good attitudes, the instruction is very good, very thorough and Steve, the instructor, is very knowledgeable in Krav as well as several other fighting methods. He is great about explaining why techniques work the way they do or even why a certain technique may not be such a great choice and that's based on his vast experience in all of this stuff including defending against a knife attack. You will also get a great work out when you start the session. I watch Steve work with kids in the class that is ending when we get there. He is very good with kids and they are all ages. My wife and I went ahead and signed up for a full quarter after the free week. We will be here for a long time. You can also do MMA, BJJ, Kickboxing and Knife Defense classes. My daughter ivy she always wanted to do like any karate or self defense since she was around 6 and in 2015 me my wife and ivy bought a nail shop about 3 years then now faction combatives opened and my daughter was wondering everyday when she walked pass there she was always saying " dad can I pls get enrolled " and of course I said yes... then for idk about 3 or 4 months now she learned gun defense ,knees,punches and lots of other things usually when I try to tickle her or pick her up like joking around to test her every night all of a sudden she does these things like all types of things . Started attending classes at Faction about two months ago. Steve is hands-down the best martial arts instructor that I've come across, and I have experience with a few prior. I say that not only due to his knowledge, which seems extensive, but due to his approach, attitude and demeanor. He's approachable, he listens, he's pragmatic, and he's empathetic. After a 12-year hiatus from martial arts, Steve's approach has been a breath of fresh air for me, and he provides all students with a self-tailored approach to how they want to learn and apply what they have learned. The classes I've attended mostly have a diverse mixture of attendees, spanning age groups and genders. It makes for a great learning environment. He also offers classes for kids and I've watched some of those while waiting for my classes to begin, and he's really great with the kids. He also incorporates cardio and strength training into most if not all of his classes. And while Steve draws upon numerous martial arts during his combatives instructions, like Krav Maga, you can also attend other classes at Faction if you want to, including Muay Thai, Thai boxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ).
