Definitely one of the best places I've been to. I'm a jiujitsu professor too. I was looking for a traditional and respectful place to train and I found what I was looking for right there. Training with partners. Separate classes for those that are not used to sparring. Competition classes are available as well. Huge space to train. I highly recommend this place if you are willing to train strike and actually learn traditional Muay Thai instead of "cardio boxing". The coach actually helps you with the combos. You are not going to be punching on the bags just to lose weight... which I really don't like because it's not strike. You are not actually learning. Met Mylinh while on an extended stay in Phoenix. She was warm and welcoming and invited me to visit the gym that she and her husband own. I really did not know what I was getting into: This is a serious training gym! However, I was not intimidated and was made to feel included. I took a kickboxing class with Ronee Dizon and it was one of the best cardio workouts I've ever had. Beats the treadmill or elliptical any day! He made up-downs fun with his bursts of singing and pop culture references. I wish this gym was in my hometown so I could join and work out here regularly. I know I would be in the best shape of my life and make a lot of new friends while learning an art. Give them a try! read more

My wife and I went to try the free fundamentals class that they offer. The atmosphere was great. Not just the trainers but the people taking the class were really helpful. They teach you how to punch, kick, and also basic foot work.(There are tons of other classes besides this.) My wife and I have never had any formal training like this and we enjoyed every bit of it. If you are looking for a place to help you with self defense or a place to kick your butt into shape this is the place. If you are looking for authentic and family orientated place to train, this is the place. I do not know anyone from this place this is just the feeling I got from being there for the first time. I've had the honor of training here for 5 months now and my only regret is not starting a year ago when I first began my search. I'm blessed to live only 6 miles away from the gym so I'm able to make it 15-18 times a month. I still remember the first day I met Vinn (the owner and head coach) we had a simple yet pleasant conversation about my skill level, what equipment I would need, where to find it locally, and what time to be there the next day. My first class was brutal because I was insanely out of shape. I had spent the previous year drinking heavily in reclusion and eating really unhealthy. 5 months later im very happy to say that I'm 51 pounds lighter and in the best shape I've ever been in my life. What I really like about Xayaveth Muay Thai is the lack of ego in the gym. Everyone is pleasant to be around and happy to train with you no matter your skill level. What to expect: 1. Traditional Muay Thai- what I mean by this is how we move and the technique that is used. Watch how the Thai fighters move on YouTube and then look at us. The training is tough and is really going to require you to dig deep. We do a lot of volume but quality is really preached and the focus of our training. 2. Structure- Vinn has a vision for his entire gym. He doesn't slap together a class though he could easily do so. 3. Family/friend atmosphere- people here are friendly and happy to meet you. Vinns wife even trains in the evening class and you can usually see his young son having a great time all around the gym. There's no place here for dicks with egos. 4. Value- though, this is of course a business, Vinn doesn't charge an arm and a leg even though I would happily pay more for what is offered. $99 for unlimited Muay Thai. Classes are twice a day Mon-Fri and once on Saturday morning. If you have it in you you're welcomed to take every class. read more

I went to XMT Muay Thai because I've been living and training in Japan and I didn't want to get rusty when I came back home for an extended vacation. I initially signed up for some private lessons online, but when I showed up no one was there. It turned out there was some error with their scheduling system, and when I was finally able to talk to someone - I believe it was Milynn (I'm probably spelling her name wrong) - everything was sorted out very quickly. Everyone at XMT wanted to make sure that my problem was resolved as quickly as possible. So the customer service is definitely a 5/5. As far as the private lessons are concerned, Vinn is the man! For our first session he just had me do some pad work and we did some light sparring so he could assess my current skill set and come up with a game plan for the rest of our lessons. And that's exactly what he did. Every lesson after that was a little different, and each lesson had a specific goal. I can tell I definitely improved after the time I spent at XMT and I'll definitely be back whenever I come visit Arizona and want to keep my Muay Thai skills sharp. On top of that, Vinn is a super chill dude. In fact the entire atmosphere at XMT was great. Everyone I talked to was very approachable. In my opinion, it's a really cool place to train for everyone - from your average Joe, to someone with competitive aspirations.
