Where do I start? My nephew has been coming here since August of this year. Boy does he love coming here. It's taught discipline, respect and honor. The coaches have been nothing short of fantastic. It's really family orientated and great atmosphere. I highly recommend it for anyone with a child, or anyone really. They're all friendly and helpful with learning. You can try them out as well I believe and they have loaner gis. My 5 year old niece tried juijitsu out and the couch was AMAZING. She was shy and didn't want to do anything but he was patient and kind and very helpful. Thank you for being such a great coach! MMA Lab has been a great experience for my child. Each class has a fun element, and real-world, practical moves are taught. Adam, who runs the kids' programs, is very engaged with the kids, on top of the fact that this is the cleanest gym I have ever seen. Hey everyone, I'll post some pricing information for anyone that's curious! So I had to contact MMA Lab 4 times before I could speak with anyone (took a star off for that - customer service is important). That being said, I spoke to someone who gave me a LIST of prices all with a broad range. I heard striking only was $100 a month - however, this is just a promotion. That being said, I'd pay $135 a month after the first month. There are no promotions for students only (aside from a various promotion every so often, which will go away) so I had to take away star #2. Then, as our conversation was over, he rushes to tell me that he hadn't informed me (after about 15 or so minutes) that the price will be $175 (again, for striking only) unless I sign up for a year. Since this was hidden and a huge price difference, I'm taking off another star. Finally, let me just say that I've trained in some great, great gyms where everything included ranged from $60-$150. For $150 (all included) I trained at Duke Rufus's place (think Anthony Pettis), and for STRIKING ONLY I'd be paying $175 here? The gym that produced Ben Henderson (the guy Anthony did his famous showtime kick on)? These prices are ridiculous - absolutely, and utterly ridiculous. Last star taken off. I can't say enough about this place. I never thought I would fall so in love with a martial art, were it not for this place, I may not have. I started jiu jitsu summer 2015 after I saw my bf compete in a tournament. Over the next year I bounced around to two other gyms before finding the Lab. I knew basically nothing about jiu jitsu or the Lab, for that matter...all I knew, at first, was that they had daycare for my then 3 mos old and a women's only class on Saturday mornings. What started out as a free trial soon turned in to an every day habit. I liked the women's class (taught by competitor extraordinare and brown belt, Maria Henderson) so much I eventually bought a class pass, then just signed right up for membership. There's something about the people. When coach John Crouch or Joe Murphy say hi to you, they really look at you in the eyes. Their level of integrity shines through in their teachings and day to day interactions with members. You might come in to try striking or a cardio class, but I bet you stay because of the other members and the family feeling you get walking through the doors. I've seen my BJJ skill change and improve hand over fist since starting here. I have my amazing coaches and incredible training partners/teammates to thank. I carry myself with more confidence than I've ever had before, it comes from knowing that I can defend myself. I have a long way to go (blue-Black belt) but I look forward to continuing this journey at the Lab. read more

You cannot ask for better coaching. Benson Henderson himself teaches classes. His coach, John Crouch puts in the same amount of detail into regular class training as he does during the fight team training. Rob Emerson and Michael De La Torre (both of whom were on Ultimate Fighter) teach the striking classes. If you want to train like a pro, learn from the pros. Coach John, Chris, Joe, Adam, Jeff and Josh have been by far the best coaches I've ever been around in my life. So far I have tried both the Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu. Both classes were fun and a great workout. Despite it being a group class, the instructors do a good job of giving individual attention as needed. Most of the classes have a decent size group attending with a nice mix of students. As someone who was absolutely new to the sport, the classes didn't go so fast as to make me feel over-whelmed nor so slow as not to be a challenge and a workout. Prices are about average from what I've seen for small gyms/martial art places. read more

The mma lab was a great experience for me! I travel the country for my work and am a jiu jitsu gypsy! I have been to several gyms across the country. I had instruction with joe murphy at the lab while in Phoenix and he was awesome! Just starting bjj at 60 and 3 yrs in I can say it has been challenging! I'm always the new kid on the playground at a new school. That can be a little intimidating and daunting! That was not the case with joe and the lab! I came in on a weekday to check out the Lab. We were greeted by a very nice guy named Ben. He gave my 7 year old and I a tour of the facility and answered all of my questions. My son is autistic and sadly, he was assaulted in kindergarten, while at public school. The LAB is giving him confidence and teaching him to responsibly defend himself. The instructors are skilled and patient. I later found out that the nice guy who gave us our tour was Ben Henderson, the UFC and WEC champion. The best. I've trained several other places in Arizona and New York this is by far the best. Legendary instructor's not just my opinion but the opinion of many professionals. They make this their primary training facility. While that is impressive it remains a humble family atmosphere. My entire family trains here. John, Joe, and Benson didn't achieve this by chance they work diligently to create an outstanding inclusive experience for all members. Jiu jitsu is tough picking the right place to practice is critical. The Lab (as we call it) is this place. The Lab is the total package MMA, Jiu jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling. Best MMA gym around. I first started going in 2010, quit in 2013, so I was there for almost 3 years. I had the opportunity to watch it grow into a huge and successful gym, especially after Crouch and Benson took over. They really made some very positive changes which has attributed to their success. Very family oriented and huge training rooms. Spent one year in BJJ with John Crouch, great coach and he really has a gift when it comes to the application of hand to hand combat. Spent about 2 years with Rick Roufus learning kickboxing/Muay Thai (Rick is no longer there) but he was an awesome coach as well. And Jarett Aki has insane strength and cardio programs and he knows how to work with and around injuries as they occur. They had me in the best shape of my life and I watched many people come in completely out of shape and transform into lean machines in a matter of months.
