My wife went in to pick up some special, hard to find bourbon and some KCCO beer for me because she works close by. She told me they were very nice and helpful. She forgot the receipt and I was curious about the pricing so I called them to inquire about the prices of the items. The guy that answered remembered her coming in and asked me right away if there was a problem. I said there was no problem, that I was just calling because she didn't know the prices of the items. He identified himself as one of the owners and he was very nice. We even had a conversation about the items she bought with him telling me that he really liked the bourbon. I don't know about the other reviews but this guy was very polite and nice and provided great customer service. We'll definitely shop here again. read more

Absolutely a wonderful stop for ANY beer lover(great whiskey selection too). The family that owns this place is helpful and incredibly friendly. I drive 30 miles to shop at GCM and it's always worth the drive. Beer selection is amazing and the prices are very good. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed. read more

Preface: i come from the land of beers known as San Diego, and am in town for 3 days. I stumbled upon this store after having pizza next door. Damn, this might just be the best liquor store I've seen, and in the most random of places. Walk in, and the first thing you eye is the full spectrum of Ballast Point Brewing Co.'s liquor (San Diego's award winning brewery and distillery). They had the vodkas, rums, and moonshine liquors. There was rows and rows of craft beers from all over the place. Insane whiskey selection of rare and hard to find hooch. AND they do growler fills, of which the offerings included the Best Of All Time SanDiego beer from Alpine Brewing Co., which is hard to find even in San Diego!!! I'll definitely bookmark this place should I ever come through here again! Highly recommended if you're looking for a slew of options. This place is a hidden gem for craft beer lovers in the east valley. This is how my first time in went: They'd posted on Facebook that they just got in the first HopSlam of the season and it would go quick. I was there an hour later, walked in, asked if they had any, and they said that it had already sold out. I was disappointed, and started perusing the aisles for something to numb the pain. After a few minutes, one of the guys that worked there said he had put aside a 6 pack of the HopSlam to share with his father (I think?), but that he'd sell me two bottles out of it if I really wanted. At that point I'd never had HopSlam, so I was desperate to try it, and eagerly accepted! They won me over my first time in.. Since then, every time I've been in I've had good experiences. They like talking beer. I've never felt condescended to. They make recommendations. When I ask where something is, they almost always go and get it for me instead of simply point in a direction. They have a really great selection of craft beers. They don't have a lot of space, but they are using it wisely. I routinely see things there I don't see at the larger chain liquor stores. I absolutely agree with John K. I have just recently discovered this place and am glad that I did. When all other big no character chains stores were out of a beer I was looking for, they were able to help me out. Letting me know that they had what I was looking for within a short while after posting the question to them on Facebook. Once I arrived they even let me know that they had what I wanted in the cooler section as I was grabbing some off of the shelf. Not to mention, they even went and grabbed it out of the cooler for me. Great selection of craft beer and also growler fills with empty growlers on-site. This has now become my go to spot for my craft beer needs. read more

Great beer selection, possibly the best in the eastern part of the basin! Good prices and a nice array of 5-gallon kegs for my fridge. Plus, they'll even fill your CO2. (Total Wine doesn't do that!) The only drawback, if you can even consider this a drawback, is that there's SO MUCH BEER that sometimes the tiny, crowded aisles can be difficult to navigate. Great place! I have been going there for quite a while now. The staff is very informative on rare and exclusive beer and always have some advice on what i might like to try next. The Facebook page is always updated with new arrivals, fire sales, and tastings. If you want to buy bud light, lose jewelery, and bitch about prices, then find a gas station they are everywhere, go find one! Ill be in this weekend stocking up for my pool party! Fellow Arizona beer patrons, please read the entire review before using this store. GCM liquor in Gilbert AZ has the worse customer service I have ever encountered anywhere. If I could, I would rate it here as 0 (zero) stars. As a 25 year Veteran, integrity is very important to me and I work hard to maintain an objective opinion on most issues. I usually cut folks a break. I pride myself on using smaller local independant retail stores for many things such as hardware, landscaping items and up until now, keg beer. While I have been flexible with GCM on many occaisions, I can no longer tolerate thier abuse. Over the last 2 years several incidents have occurred there; here are the most notable. 1) I have been denied my keg deposit because I could not immediately prove I bought the keg there. 2) I have been over-charged for the keg deposit and had to take store credit to be compensated. 3) I was denied an exchange on a faulty keg. In regards to this "final straw", the owner complained that it was too long since I purchased the keg to be able to offer an exchange. I explained that I thought the poor quality of the beer might have been down to a leak in my lines or some other problem with my equipment. It took me a while to figure It out. It was not until I discovered that the rubber seal on the keg was torn and missing a piece that I decided to attempt the return. I never got to "use" the product and thus felt I deserved some form of restitution. After all, I was returning a largely full keg. Any retailer would offer at least "store credit" on a faulty product even after two months. My request fell on deaf ears. The owner claimed he needed authorization from the distributor to get the keg replaced (although he was very confident that they would do so). At that time I confirmed with him that he owned the store. I also pointed out that since he was willing to take money for the product, HE as owner should offer a replacement or refund for the defective product and then get the distributor to compensate him. He said he was not willing to risk his cost (claimed $65) On having the distributor reject his claim. 65 dollars. I have purchased more than 20 kegs at this store but it is clear customer loyalty means nothing to them. Now the owner may maintain that I am lying, that I have stretched the truth or that my case is an anomaly. I urge you to dismiss such comments and stick to the facts. I bought a keg at GCM, it was defective (owner confirmed), I was not offered a replacement or refund. Thus, I shall be visiting my local big box liquor store from now on. They have "Mo" to offer as they are closer to my home, the prices are cheaper and they have a much friendlier staff. As for GCM, I can leave them with nothing more than advice: *Adopt a keg deposit system that works. Stickers on the keg, a book in the store or a membership card. *Not all your customers are out to screw you. A few of us just want what we paid for. *Lower your prices, you are too expensive and not competitive. Your customer service is not good enough to compensate for the difference. *Leave the attitude at home (read Soup Nazi) - We are all not priveledged to be buying from you. Also, would it hurt to smile once in a while? I have never seen you guys smile. If you don't like your business, then get our of it... read more

The guys at GCM always go out of their way to help you find exactly what you're looking for. They always get the rarest beer and communicate those deliveries with their customers on facebook. I used to shop at total wine but I'd much rather frequent a local shop. I got salted Belgium chocolate stout from them and it was so sweet and salty. Thank you GCM! read more

This is my favorite place on earth right now! Drove past for years and never went in- now kicking my own arse for trecking all the way to Total Wine when I could've been coming here the whole bloody time!!! The beer selection is ridiculous, and the guys that run it are amazeballs! Ready with a super knowledgable suggestion anytime you ask. I wish I could give it more stars!!! I stopped in for a couple of things I assumed I'd end up having to go to total wine or a big chain liquor vendor for and boy was I impressed with the selection! I found the Delirium Red beer I've been hunting for and diet ginger beer for Moscow Mules. The beer was $6.50 a bottle and the Ginger Beer was $9 bucks. Since I haven't been able to find either I can't speak to the competitiveness on price points but I was glad I didn't have to drive all the way to Total Wine AND was able to spend my money at a local mom and pop. The sweet "old man" many have referred to in their posts was delightfully charming and helpful. He was sitting in a chair next the entrance and was the first to greet me when I walked in. He directed me to the ginger beer and hollered to one of his sons on where to find the Delirium Red.....1st isle bottom shelf. ...which was pretty cool considering they have hundreds to choose from. It was sweet to see him get up to help a customer lift some heavy cases to the counter only to be intercepted by his son who came running over saying "Pops, I got it" . They were really busy and I just l loved hearing them chatter with the customers. read more
