This is the worst small business that I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I prefer to do…read morebusiness with local businesses. While the prices at Home Depot and Lowes were much better, I decided that it would be worth it to have a local company in case of problems or the need for future service. What a mistake. The prices were high to begin with and then they tried to screw me by hitting me for all the extra charges that were part of the original deal. For example, they didn't know they were going to need adhesive for tile? The attitude was terrible, they were extremely difficult to work with. It took weeks to get them to put estimates together because everyone has reduced hours, supposedly because of the economy. I used them for wood flooring and tile work. I wouldn't use them if they were the last business on earth. I never bother to write reviews but i couldn't let someone else endure this if it could be avoided. Avoid these people at all cost. Lowes in Gilford is very friendly, has good prices, provides estimates promptly and shows up exactly when they say they will. I am in my fifties and have owned and renovated several homes and this is literally the single worst experience with a small business I have ever had.

Scott's has served us very well. They cleared out overgrown and jumbled land on a hilly slope and…read moreremoved debris and rocks, prepared the soil, and planted 3 cyprus trees, and 3 shrubs. The results were gorgeous and they took care to make sure the area (already spongy) would drain properly. Additionally, Scott's had helped us locate and purchase the trees we needed during challenging COVID times when trees were often hard to find. They provided excellent customer service from the time they scoped out the work through planting, and follow-up care. In addition to our tree project, Scott's did extensive weeding and clean-up in areas that had been neglected for 2 years. Their gardener is knowledgeable about planting and about plants themselves and easy to communicate with. He gave great advice--and worked like an expert "partner" with my elderly Mom who knows a bit about gardening but can no longer get out to do it. The landscapers doing the excavation and tree and shrubs planting and general heavy lifting were smart, knowledgeable, able, strong, adept, resourceful, careful, flexible, courteous and respectful. They were skillful with their equipment and went above and beyond after I'd mentioned my Dad who recently passed loved rocks and if they could add some of them on top of the soil to plant around we'd be grateful--I don't know how he did it but he used his rugged backhoe(?) to delicately pick up rock by rock from the massive piled of dirt and then--by hand--made nice rock arrangements. We are having them back to spruce up the yard and to create a strategy for my Mom's perennial garden in the areas where the trees are planted, and beyond. Professional, efficient, skilled, pleasant, and overall good company to work with.

Specifically, this review is for Rick and Eric who came to my home last week, and helped me figure out what was wrong, why, and how to never have that happen again. We had purchased a stove the year earlier and used it with great success. After a schlocky chimney sweep did a terrible job, Rick came out and was gracious, kind, and educated me for my safety. I can't thank him enough, and his partner, Eric was kind, attentive, cleaned up the mess that was made with professionalism and a positive attitude. It was obvious these two gentlemen truly cared for the safety of me and my family. In the end, it was our chimney sweeps' fault for the trouble, and they helped us anyway. If I go into this store again and have to deal with Josh, I will ask for Rick. Perhaps that management could train him to not be a doubting jerk to customers who've spent thousands of dollars in their store. I am giving five starts because of Rick and Eric SPECIFICALLY. If this review was based solely on how I was treated by Josh, I would give one star. Nice save guys. I am ever thankful for your assistance.
