They knew I lived on the lake and they knew I did not have central air conditioning. They never let the hardwood acclimate and started installing it the day after delivering it. They didn't even nail the flooring per manufacturer spec. The flooring cupped and is still cupped. Even after installing central air, it's embarrassing to look at. Both Heckman's and the inspector blamed my contractor for not keeping the site conditions moderated during the renovation. They have insurance and they weren't big enough to own up to their mistake. Now I live with a $10k bumpy floor. Atrocious.

I just went to Gilbert Block. I needed some kind of stone or paver to make a step into the condo I…read morejust bought. I knew the approximate size, but absolutely nothing else. The woman who helped me was absolutely wonderful. She saw that I was walking with a cane, and she walked out into their yard and took pictures of several possibilities for me. Her suggestion was that I buy four cement blocks and simply place them on my patio for a step, and this suggestion was absolutely perfect. The total cost to me was less than seven dollars. I would say the employees at Gilbert Block spent between half an hour and an hour helping me for what must've been their smallest sale of the day. I have never been more impressed with customer service at any establishment I have ever done business with! The steady stream of customers were all receiving the cheerful service. Thank you Gilbert Block, thank you so much.

Left high and dry with a broken product and no resolution whatsoever. Please, please take your business literally anywhere else. You will not get what you pay for, and when you don't get what you bought these people will do nothing about it except blame you and scream at you. Can't say enough about how truly horrible my whole experience was with Fireside Living in Gilford. Unreputable, dishonest, rude, and unable (or unwilling) to make things right when they screw up.

ArborTech is an amazing company... like most tree service outfits, they were pretty well booked out…read morethis summer, but managed to fit me in for a big 2-day job without too much wait. They were better equipped to deal with the large trees (very) close to my house than any of the other local companies with whom I inquired, and their pricing was excellent - below other quotes as well as below my own cost expectations. Working with Courtney and Melody was an absolute pleasure. Courtney was easy to talk to, polite, informative, and knowledgeable. He clearly has a passion for trees, and his knowledge as an arborist goes well beyond merely cutting, chipping, and hauling them away. Melody was an excellent point of contact at the ArborTech office, and was very prompt and informative in her communications. I can't leave out the professionalism of the crew; clearly these guys have pride in their craft, which is quite a thing to see in action. They were very attentive when it came to difficult cuts which risked damaging the home and the property, checked in regularly throughout the job to OK slight changes to their plan of attack, and were careful to clean up saw dust and branches as well as stacking soon-to-be firewood neatly and out of the way. I cannot recommend ArborTech enough - especially for big jobs. They clearly have the latest and greatest in equipment, and their whole team does a wonderful job.
